First of all, great fudge, this is in no way knocking down the shop and the product itself, this was just a specific experience we just had. Family and I showed up to the fudge house at 10:05 (the store opens at 10 AM), and the store was still dark and empty. Several customers were waiting outside along with us as time passed. Finally at 10:15, the door was opened by an unpleasant female worker that did not greet the customers or apologize for the late opening. I unfortunately did not get her name, although she was a heavy set woman with light brown hair tied in a messy low pony tail (very long hair), look to be in her mid 30s. She proceeded to not comply with the customer ahead of us and his simple request of placing the fudge in a large box instead of in small squares that she cut instead. As the line grew, a couple walked in and asked this female worker if the store still carried a specific flavor of fudge, and her muffled response with her back faced against them was, "I don't know, I just got here". (Maybe if you opened the store on time, then you would know your inventory.....) the couple left immediately after this negative encounter, saying to us and other customers on their way out, "oh they got attitude here". When it came our turn, she simply stared at us, not asking what we would like or offering a sample, or even simply giving us a "hello". She then handled our fudge order request without wearing gloves and still barely saying anything to myself and my family. I'm very disappointed by this encounter, as this store has some of the best fudge in door county and great owners. My recommendation would be to train this woman a lot better on proper etiquette and knowledge of product, or to simply let her go after this awful experience. read more
