We were staying in Door County and I sought this place out because it had my favorite kind of ice cream. I went in one night after dinner. I didn't want the vanilla but they were out so I got strawberry. The ice cream, CHOCOLATE SHOP is very good. It reminds me of ice cream when I was a child. The person behind the counter was very friendly he didn't have the usual, "I'm sick of these vacationers" attitude. More flavors would be good, like espresso chip and peppermint. read more

Nice way to end our little date night in Fish Creek! It's a small, cheery shop packed with lots of flavors to choose from, and the price is certainly right for the large servings you receive! We popped in towards the end of the night so it was no longer busy and ended up talking to the server at the counter for probably at least 15 minutes. It was our first time going to Dippy's and we'd go back. They had a wide variety of flavors, including two dairy-free options and the workers were friendly and helpful. (They confirmed whether we had any allergies and sanitized the scoop between customers.) The half scoop was more than you get for one scoop of elsewhere. Ice cream is the best in fish creek and is very well priced I had the kitty kitty bang bang and it was very delicious. The service was awesome the worker was very helpful and friendly. The store itself was small but fits right in with the door county vibe the only knock I would give it is the smell it smelled like strong chlorine. I cannot give a five star review if the ice cream is not made in house. This was good ice cream, and we got a good sized portion. The flavor selection was good too - we got the pistachio and coffee, which were both most excellent. The shop generally lacked the "ice cream shop charm," but staff was friendly, and the setting in downtown fish creek helps meaningfully as well. We have been coming here for years to enjoy their single size ice cream with two flavors. A recent policy change does not allow their servers to put two flavors into a single serve cup. I assume they are doing this to encourage people to purchase the larger double size. I believe this change is short term thinking. read more

I wish I had known that Dippy's did not have a photo. I would have Instagrammed the crap out of my group's sundae parade (Bear Paws and S'Mores). Now, I am a simple girl. I go with the single scoop on the sugar cone. But, this is not your average single scoop. It is a double disguised as a single. You will have to reschedule your next meal, because you will be [pleasantly] full. They are generous at Dippy's and decently priced, especially for Door County. We made it a tradition to stop here whenever we're in Fish Creek. It would not feel right leaving without a scoop of Cedar Crest done Dippy-style. You feel like a kid again. read more

We were in Door County in the middle of July, which I imagine to be peak tourist season. Got to Dippy's with two small children and Dippy's was closed. We arrived with 4 minutes to spare to closing time, but Dippy's was already lights out and locked. Some people outside told us they had closed a couple of minutes ago. My mom always used to make us get a single scoop or a kid's scoop when I was younger and I used to always want more, but after we found this store, I was perfectly fine with what I got because the portions are awesomely huge! Now as an adult I appreciate the "bang for my buck" aspect because I can pay for a single scoop and get a bunch more.
