I cannot speak to the current management or employees however I just learned now that the inspector that they sent to my home I purchased on June 6, 2014 misled me. They sent their Wind Mitigation Inspector out and he performed the inspection on November 8th, 2014. He charged a lot but my neighbor said it would save me money on my Homeowners Insurance as the entire roof was completely torn off and replaced on February 16, 2013 before I purchased it by Allied Roofing Contractors, 2211 Rose Blvd., Orlando FL 32839 License # CCC042826 with a written 30-year warranty on fungus resistant fiberglass shingles, top of the line and very expensive. The Realtor and Title Company provided me with the receipt and transferable warranty at the closing. The roof was only about a year old when I purchased the home and still less than two years old when I had the inspection done. They are a very reputable company and still in business today and if you Google their reviews they have PERFECT 5-STAR Google reviews. It is an established company since the 1990's. The "inspector" even complimented me on the work. He told me it all looked good, I didn't understand it just he told me it passed, it was like four pages long not counting the pages of pictures he took, I signed it and he emailed me a copy of it and I think my insurance too, I don't remember and my rate did go down but it was so tiny it was not worth what I paid. 5 years later my carrier raised my premium due to a rate hike approved by the Florida Insurance Commission. It was time to shop around. I was mortified when all the Brokers and Agents started telling me about all the big discounts I had not received over the past year and was not eligible for now. I asked them all how come? They said the Wind Mitigation Report they did said my roof did not meet the 2002 FL Building Requirements for a discount! It was installed in 2013! That is more than a decade later and it DOES meet the standards! He put on the paper that it didn't and by accident or on purpose I never received the discount I thought I was getting for the past 5-years! It was practically a brand new roof and I have the receipt from the former owner given to me by the Realtor and Title Agent / Closing Company in my new home packet! I find this out just NOW! That was question 1. On Question 2. he put that my new roof did not meet the requirements for "Roof Coverings", it goes on and on.
The roof was practically brand new! I have the receipt and warranty and all the papers from the Closing, if there was a problem why did he tell me "what a good job they did and that it passed"?
I never read it, one of us sent it to the insurance company and my rate went down a tiny bit and I was blaming the insurance company.
Now I find out that it was not the insurance company at all when I went to switch. It was that report I overpaid him to come and do.
Lesson learned. DO NOT TRUST WHAT PEOPLE SAY OR DO, THESE IN PARTICULAR! Don't take their word for anything, read everything and if you don't understand it ask a Insurance Broker or Insurance Company to explain it regardless of what they tell you to your face.
I will be hiring someone else and paying again and this time I will not take their word for anything but read it and try and understand it to make sure it says what they tell you it says.
I have lost potentially thousands of dollars in discounts over the past five years in insurance premiums because I assumed his report said what he told me.
I would never, ever hire this company again and the next one I hire I will research. This one had 5-stars but when I looked closer it was only because they had "1-Review". What does that say considering they have been in business for probably half a decade or more.
Shop around and check people's reviews before hiring them or learn the hard way like I did.
UPDATE: Spoke to the OWNER and he was as shady as the people he hires. STAY AWAY - HIRE ANYONE ELSE! read more
