Unfortunately, I relocated out of the Northern Virginia area last year and attempted to use another local CPA firm in my new location. Well, it only took once to see the level of service and attention to detail that F&Co provide. Yes, they ask a lot of questions but they take the time to get to know you and issues you are facing and the questions are just them digging for solutions and deductions. I wish my doctor and attorney would take the time and energy to carry out their services in the same manner as Mark Frye, CPA and his staff at Frye & Company, CPAs. They are busy and even with all of the additional demands during last year's pandemic, they stayed focused and you could clearly see them working meticulously and steady navigating the pandemic with their client interest at heart. Truly people serving people and I can't say enough about the experience of working with this firm. They even delayed invoicing for their clients during the pandemic and waived any late payment interest when we were unable to even timely pay after receiving their delayed invoice. They never sent us late notices and worked with us to help us navigate during these trying times. When do you ever see or hear anything like this from a CPA for law firm! UPDATE: I received a notice from the IRS the new CPA in the area I relocated and after repeatedly attempting to solicit a response from the new CPA, ultimately, they were not only nonresponsive but defensive. As such, I turned the matter over to Frye & Company, CPAs who were very responsive given that they did not prepare the returns resulting in the IRS notice. Mark Frye, CPA and his team at Frye & Company, CPAs almost immediately did a thorough review of the returns prepared by the other firm, prepared a detailed response to the IRS, and prepared amended tax returns actually resulting in the IRS owing me money! We tried several other CPAs and were unfortunately dissatisfied with them. Most talked in CPA technical speak leaving us overwhelmed and a bit confused. This is our first go at our business, so we were not sure if the services they were pushing on us were needed or not. It felt kind of like going to a mechanic when you don't anything about cars. We called Mark unknowingly at the peak time of year for him. You would not know it as he answered our inquiry quickly. We went to his office and everyone was very professional and polite. Mark makes himself very available at all times and usually answers all inquiries within hours. You can tell the guy really loves what he does and is very good at it. Most CPAs may great at what they do, but do not have a very sociable, pleasant disposition. That's not a problem with Mark. He sat down with us and comprehensively went over all of our options and did not rush us at all. There really is not better CPA to work with. He knows his stuff and it does not bombard you with all the legalese that makes accounting seem like a foreign language. He speaks in plain talk and does not push unnecessary services that you may not need. We had other CPAs suggest packages that he deemed unnecessary. He operates with the philosophy of keeping clients long term and does not nickel and dime them to get every penny he can. Bottom line, you won't have a better experience with a CPA than Mark. We needed a new CPA firm for our business and also wanted to establish a not-for-profit organization. We reached out to this firm based upon some recommendations and boy were we surprised about the thoroughness and thoughtfulness in which they met all of our accounting and tax needs. We have used Frye & Company for several years. They have consistently provided excellent, customer and professional services. Staff is very responsive and pleasant to calls and visits to the office- This year was a big challenge for Frye & Company due to the COVID-19 outbreak, not a normal year by any measure. This years work was completed slightly behind schedule but provided the necessary information and forms for a late filing. During the tax preparation season emails were returned promptly with the requested information, follow-up calls were not needed. They responded to my requests in less than 24 hours, most within a few hours. Our final tax package, Federal and State, were delivered electronically and by US Postal Service.
