I called Dominion early in January and was able to get a spot as a new client. (I later learned that they only open a few new client spots every year, so I recommend trying them in December or January if you want to get a spot.) I called the morning of my appointment to make sure they were still open, since a snowstorm had canceled schools and many local business closed for the day. Not only was Dominion still open, but they were able to move my appointment to earlier in the day since other clients had canceled. As soon as Carson was done with his previous appointment, he welcomed me back to his office and we started going through the paperwork. Carson was so great. It's clear that he is extremely familiar with the tax code and entered all my paperwork quickly. He helped me access some additional information online when we realized I needed an additional piece of real estate paperwork. He even explained some deductions that we were eligible for that I was unaware of and allowed me to submit that paperwork later after I collected the necessary information at home. Perhaps the most amazing part of all of it is that Dominion only charges a $150 flat fee for your personal taxes. I thought for sure it would be like one of these chain tax places where the base rate only applies if you are filing in one state or have a single W-2. Their price is more than fair to know that your taxes are done right and you are getting as many deductions as possible based on your individual situation. I'll definitely be back next year!

Wanna talk about bully's? How about the IRS? So hear me out. Back in 2012 and 2013 we had an…read moreincompetent CPA, not to name any names, but Steven Buwe owner of Buwe and Associates located at 14142 Minnieville Rd, Ste 203, Woodbridge, VA 22193, was supposedly filing our year end W2/W3 SS docs. This didn't happen. Now follow me here, we paid every penny for those 2 years and reported along the way every month and every quarter. At the end of the year the IRS and their fine employees need a synopsis of the year (because the monthly and the quarterly aren't suffice) mailed and signed, no payment required. We get notice a year ago that was never done. With my new accountant we rectify the situation and provide all documents and a reason as to why they weren't sent. We receive a $10k fine! Not for late money, not for not paying, not in interest, but because they didn't get their 3rd document of the year stating we paid. We are still in litigation with them and will likely be rectified, but talk about abuse of power. Why? Because they can do whatever they want. This is a prime example of big government. And as for Steven Buwe of Buwe and Associates, 14142 Minnieville Rd, Ste 203, Woodbridge, VA 22193, this could all have been avoided if you answered my phone call. This is a complete lack of professionalism and he can be held liable for this lack of response. In fact I sought legal action and decided it wasn't worth time and money to spend $15k to make $10K. I will be reporting Steven to the DPOR and this is the first of many actions that will be taken. I asked him that he reimburse me my time and legal fees to rectify. He blew me off. it has cost me time, sanity, time with my family and my anxiety. All I ever wanted to do is run a business and work every day, pay my taxes and spend time with my family. Steven and the IRS have robbed me of this. Why? Because a piece of paper didn't make it to a clerks desk.
