Don't make the mistake I made which was sleeping on this place! I heard of this truck YEARS ago and have always wanted to try it. I have no idea why it took so long but I finally made it and have I been missing out! Started with the calamari which was fantastic. Nice long strips, crispy and tender. The lobster roll is Connecticut style so butter, not mayo and DELISH! Also had the shrimp and octopus ceviche which was HUGE and amazing! Then the fish and chips, very light and crispy though could have used a touch more salt IMO. Clam chowder was very flavorful and also a large portion but was light on the clams. A very satisfying experience that should have happened a lot sooner. Do yourself a favor and get there. read more

First time trying the food here. The server was nice. The only down side is the food was not good. All of the items left us disappointed. The fish n chips are soggy and oily. The cold slaw is good, but everything seems flavorless. The calamari was all soggy and sweating in the box after we just picked it up less than a minute. Not your ordinary food truck is their tagline - and they live up to their name 100%! The Frutti di Mare food truck has been on my radar for some time now, but I never managed to get off work in time to visit. The stars aligned today and I was able to get off in time for a visit - I did call twice though to see where the truck was at, and also later in the day to see if the truck was still open. I made it a little after 430pm today (Sunday). They close at 5pm on Sundays. I punched in the coordinates and Google gave me relatively straightforward directions on how to get here. On the weekends, they are parked at the side of a Smog check/Auto place. Easy parking since the place was closed, so you can park in any of the spaces on the lot. It's a residential area so I imagine on the weekdays, you can park along the street - but easy parking regardless. I ran into a friendly couple who were his regulars (shout out to Chris & Darlene) - and they recommended a few dishes for me to try since I wasn't sure what to get (everything looked good from the other Yelp reviews). I opted for the Lobster Roll (which comes with fries) and a small Clam Chowder soup. I was debating whether to get something else since from experience, lobster rolls tend to be either small or under-filled based on my visits to other food trucks in the area. Not here. The food is made fresh-to-order and while I was waiting, I had a friendly chat with their regular diners, Chris (and Darlene) who shared with me that they visit the truck often, and that the chef has daily specials where he serves off-the-menu items like lobster ravioli, shrimp scampi, salmon with tomato caprese salad, and swordfish. My mouth was already watering at this point looking at the various photos he shared of the special dishes. The lobster roll was amazing. It was filled to the brim with lobster meat, the roll had just the right amount of crunch to it, butter and a special orange sauce. They don't skimp on meat here at all. Hands down among the best lobster roll I've had ever. Literally five stars on this roll alone. It's awesome that he includes a side of fries for any sandwich - and he must've overheard me share with Chris that I didn't like crunch since the fries came out perfectly soft. The clam chowder was the perfect complement to the roll, with just the right amount of creaminess, veggies, and clam. Total for everything came out to a little over $28 - amazing value for the quality and quantity of food that you get. The truck moves around a lot - but this location at Westminster Blvd/La Pat Place seems to be home base for them. While it's not the best neighborhood - it's not as bad as what everyone else is making it out to be. I mean of course, I've been to sketchier places in my life - but the food is definitely worth it. The Frutti Di Mare truck came to our Back to School Night at Johnson Middle School in support of our community. They are family owned and operated. Wow! The delicious smell was hitting all my senses as I walked up. I ordered the lobster roll and the clam chowder as they were the recommended items. The lobster was overflowing from my roll when I opened the box. They definitely did not scrimp on the most important part. The taste was perfect. The seasoning was just the right amount to allow the lobster to shine. It was also cooked just right. Sometimes lobster can be overdone to where it gets a little chewy, but it was not the case here. The roll was accompanied by a bed of fries. I am so full and satisfied that I will have to wait to eat the clam chowder tomorrow for lunch. However, my husband did warn me that it might not be there in the morning, for he can't help himself after a taste. He needs his own. This one's mine. This is a very unique take on the Lobster Roll. In all the right ways! They add mayonnaise to the sandwich which gives it a very yummy seasoning amongst the butter and the lobster and bread. I've had Frutti Di Mare a handful of times since they come to my apartment community from time to time. Everything I've gotten has been super delicious! I believe the first thing I've ever tried from this truck were their fish and chips. They give big portions so you really do get a bang for your buck. I had FDM for the 2nd time yesterday with my sister and just... chef's kiss! We tried the lobster macaroni yesterday for the first time and the flavor was on point. Sitting on a small side street off of Westminster Blvd. next to an auto repair shop sits the Frutti Di Mare food truck. The Mrs. has had Frutti Di Mare on her Yelpdar for a while so today we decided to check it out. We arrived shortly after noon and parked in the auto shop parking lot because it was closed. We also need space to break out out portable picnic table. We made our way over to the food truck ad were greeted by who I now know as Chef Francisco Cruz. The Chef owner of Frutti Di Mare. He asked if it was out first time and we told him it was. I was tempted to order one of everything on the menu, but that would have been crazy. So I decided on the Lobster Roll with a side of clam chowder. The Lobster Roll is served Connecticut style which warm lobster on a toasted brioche loaf, garnished with green onion and a lemon wedge. It was incredible. The lobster was sweet and fresh and the flavor popped with the Brioche bun. The clam chowder was New England style. I have had chowder from San Diego to Bodega Bay and Frutti Di Mare's is in my top 5. It was so rich. It coated the spoon as every good chowder should and the clams to potato ratio was perfect. The Mrs. ordered a fish taco and a lobster taco. Both of them grilled and she loved them. Kiddo had the Lobster Mac and Cheese which she thoroughly enjoyed. She ordered a large portion which could easily feed three people. To think that such incredible seafood can be born from a food truck is amazing. Not a very nice area, but that's not what I came for. CLAM CHOWDER [5/5]: Delicious. Ingredients you could see! Way better than any store bought chowder. LOBSTER ROLL [5/5]: Bread was super buttery and seasoned well. Lobster wasn't overly seasoned. Exactly what you are looking for when you want a lobster roll. CALAMARI [5/5]: Topped with Parmesan and seasoning. I just don't know how they got such giant squid. Was perfectly springy too. Not overcooked. FISH & CHIPS [3/5]: Served 4 large pieces over fries. Fish was good and the batter was crispy, but was overall a bit too oily for me. So we ended up not eating a lot of the fried batter. Will probably be better after air frying.
