We picked up lots of produce, but also tried the prepared meals. My husband had the Korean pulled pork with kimchi, which was fantastic, and I had the ravioli with pesto, pine nuts, and fresh local tomatoes. I'm not the biggest fan of pasta in general, but this was so very good. I can't wait for another, before tomato season is through. Thank you, Royal Tomato! He went and picked the biggest one... meanwhile I was having a chat with the lady at the same stand. I asked her again will that be a sweet one? I guess she felt bad and told the guy that it will be pink inside... she went and picked me another one herself. The one she picked was a winner! This is definitely the place to stop if you are looking for high quality watermelon, especially of the black-seeded variety. This kind of watermelon is hardly ever sold in Houston supermarkets these days. In my opinion, the produce sold here just looks better than the offerings in most grocery stores. The varieties of squash seem more plump and fresh. Part of the haul from the latest trip to Dilorio: Yellow Onion, Russet Potatoes, Zucchini, Ginger, Yellow Squash, Cherries, a Mango and a Peach. The peppers and greens looked good, and I was happy to see sacks of Black Eyed Peas in the freezer section. There are seeds, plants and flowers placed outside and near the front of the store.
