What if I got a flat tire? What if my car stopped running? I tried to remain calm during this heavily dark morning. Fortunately, nothing bad happened. Alas, I saw existence of life...Snappy's Market. I went in primarily to see if they could give me some human directions v car-made ones. The gentlemen on duty was super helpful and indicated I was very close to getting onto the main thoroughfare. He even walked me outside and pointed me in the right direction. I felt compelled to buy something since he was so helpful, but did not have an appetite that early in the morning. I did use the restrooms, which were super clean. Then I was on my way...back on track!

Today the restroom was filthy. Floors not washed for days. Toilet paper out. Sink area dirty. And an employee "washed" their hands and left the restroom area as I was there! There's an idea that you check the cleanliness of the restroom before eating at a restaurant. This was so bad we elected not to buy the bbq sandwiches, pudding and tea we went in for. On the way out I mentioned how filthy the restroom was and that we decided not to but there. The gentleman asked... which one women or men. Women? Not my area. I looked toward one of the ladies including one with an assistant manager who had just been in there. She said I was just in there. Yes.... Well the floor is filthy, the toilet paper is out and the sink area is dirty. She didn't do a dang thing. She barely wetted her finger tips. And quickly dried them. I didn't even see her go for the soap. Gross! And she's handling my goods or preparing my food - not today! I've never seen this place looking that bad! They have a wonderful selection. And they are the only place I know that correctly calls "sausage kolaches" as their real name--Klobásník--or Klobásníky (plural.) but don't expect those to still be there. On a weekday, they might still have these Czech treats until 3 pm, but on the weekends, they go fast! Always friendly staff and i just love looking through their home decor. They have the cutest little tchotchkes that are locally crafted and so wonderful for home, garden, or lawn. I have bought many a christmas and birthday gift on the way. Great metal art as well! The bathrooms are always clean and smell fine. I highly recommend stopping at least one time to see everything they have to offer. It's a true, "small Texas town" stop! Oh, and set the GPS! They have very clean bathrooms and a nice area with tables inside if you want to stay and eat. They have a decent selection of drinks and snacks, and lots of clothing and boots for sale. But this time, we decided instead of a quick sandwich we would go ahead and order barbecue plates. Their prices are fairly inexpensive for barbecue and I think that's because they are not out back cooking on the pit all day. But the brisket and chicken were fair, made much better by their sauce. I liked the potato salad and I loved the green beans. I think the brisket sandwich is better than the brisket plate, so that's what I will go back to.
