The advantage of White Forest is you get to wander around the grounds, and there are a lot of grounds. Everything is so healthy looking. One caretaker (I don't know, do you call them gardeners?) was friendly and helpful. He got us a cart and showed us what we were looking for. We were thinking of just getting one gallon plants, but lucky for us, they had the 5 gallon size on sale. There are always specials, and if you look you can find some real bargains. They have a wide seed selection. There are decorative planters, You can get everything from small items to full grown trees. And, did I mention the sheer fun of wandering the grounds?

You can tell they have a genuine passion for what they do, and they are always so generous with their knowledge. The nursery itself feels like a maze designed for plant lovers. With every turn, there's something new or intriguing to discover. You can wander from one section to another and suddenly find a unique plant, an interesting pot, or some unexpected little treasure. It makes browsing feel like an adventure rather than just a shopping trip. And somewhere along your journey, you'll probably come across the nursery's two resident cats who clearly believe they run the place. They are both incredibly sweet and friendly. One of my favorite things is that if you tell them what plants you have, they can even mix up a bag of soil specifically suited to your plants. That kind of personalized service is becoming harder and harder to find. Another huge plus is the reasonable pricing, especially considering some of the more unusual and rare plants they carry. During this visit, I spotted mini Thai Constellation Monsteras for only $20! I've seen these plants priced at two or even three times that amount at other places, so finding them here at such a reasonable price was an especially nice surprise. I also love taking my time looking around inside the cashier building. There are so many interesting little treasures tucked in there, from marinades made by a business up on the coast to those adorable mini Thai Constellation Monsteras. During this visit, I discovered some beautiful handmade pots created by artists from Oceano and San Luis Obispo. I could easily spend way too much time browsing all the unique finds. They also shared some really interesting information about how plant shops along the coast will occasionally come together, almost like a farmers market, to sell all kinds of plants. I love learning things like this during my visits. Honestly, every trip to Robby's is about more than just buying plants. As I drove by I noticed the property was full of trees. I drive it unsure where to park. I was the only one! I walked around to check out the trees. Eventually this man approached me and asked if I had any questions. I asked him about shade trees, trees with non invasive roots. I also wanted a few flowering plums trees. They were priced at $45.00. Not knowing what trees cost these days, I thought of driving to 2 other nurseries to get an idea. I mentioned to him, I live a mile away and will be back to get some trees. This nursery was short on ground covers and annual flowers. They had a lot of trees and shrubs. Next stop was this nursery on Allen Road. Hmm, it was crowded and I barely found a spot to park. I asked to see some trees and was directed towards the back. Wow, same trees in the same pot cost $20+ more! This nursery sure had a lot choices for annuals, shaded plants like the Japanese Maple. Last stop, a nursery on Norris Road. Not as expensive compared to my 2nd stop. Not much tree selection but definitely had a lot of ground covers, annuals and shrubs. If you are looking for trees to plant here in Bakersfield, Monte Vista is the nursery. Cheapest price for healthy trees.

Buck's is nice enough and I sold me a giant pump I have not set up, some plants instead of supplemental pond clearing bacteria, a bs high dollar circular net to keep the plants sep from the koi that the koi love to mess with, advised me to turn off the spill to look for the liner leak which was terrible advice because the pond is super extra cloudy now and liner repair kit I'm afraid to lower the water enough to use if I can find the leak. I have money, a koi problem and need help but after contacting and visiting at least six "pond/koi" businesses in a 60 mile radius, I still have money, a koi problem and need help.

In fact there was a yard $300 worth which they charge me and still refused to give me my rock. I also reported one of the Palms they planted was dead a week later, they refused to replace that as well not good business would not recommend them at all.
