The workers there are friendly and helpful but Susie is who I look for when I go! I always take her advice and she's never steered me wrong! She truly cares about her plants, a few years ago she sent a giant fiddle leaf fig that I purchased from them in a box truck to my house free of charge because it would have been damaged in my truck and she didn't have to do that! She will also look at photos of trees they've planted for you and tell you how to help them if they're struggling but that's never happened to us. Everything they plant for us thrives! They just left after planting five trees for me and they sent a crew of five men, all who were so nice and professional. They asked me multiple times throughout the job if I liked the placement or if I wanted anything changed and they finished super quickly and cleaned everything up when they left! They even checked our sprinklers to make sure they didn't break anything which no landscaper or worker has ever done for us. We will only use Bolles!

Robby's Nursery is one of those places I genuinely look forward to visiting. The women who run the…read morenursery (I believe they are Robby's daughters who took over after he passed away) are incredibly knowledgeable about plants. You can tell they have a genuine passion for what they do, and they are always so generous with their knowledge. The nursery itself feels like a maze designed for plant lovers. With every turn, there's something new or intriguing to discover. You can wander from one section to another and suddenly find a unique plant, an interesting pot, or some unexpected little treasure. It makes browsing feel like an adventure rather than just a shopping trip. And somewhere along your journey, you'll probably come across the nursery's two resident cats who clearly believe they run the place. They are both incredibly sweet and friendly. One of my favorite things is that if you tell them what plants you have, they can even mix up a bag of soil specifically suited to your plants. That kind of personalized service is becoming harder and harder to find. Another huge plus is the reasonable pricing, especially considering some of the more unusual and rare plants they carry. During this visit, I spotted mini Thai Constellation Monsteras for only $20! I've seen these plants priced at two or even three times that amount at other places, so finding them here at such a reasonable price was an especially nice surprise. I also love taking my time looking around inside the cashier building. There are so many interesting little treasures tucked in there, from marinades made by a business up on the coast to those adorable mini Thai Constellation Monsteras. During this visit, I discovered some beautiful handmade pots created by artists from Oceano and San Luis Obispo. I could easily spend way too much time browsing all the unique finds. They also shared some really interesting information about how plant shops along the coast will occasionally come together, almost like a farmers market, to sell all kinds of plants. I love learning things like this during my visits. Honestly, every trip to Robby's is about more than just buying plants. I really enjoy the conversations I have with these women and soaking up all the knowledge they have to share. They are friendly, passionate, and clearly love what they do.

I agree with my mother-in-law: I want to live here. And while I cannot buy one of everything, I can sit and breathe and be one with everything. My cousin-in-law comes here every few weeks because "it's good for my soul," and I absolutely get it. Only 5 parking spaces plus 1 handicapped space, so come in the morning; on weekends, the next door business is closed so folks park there.

As I drove by I noticed the property was full of trees. I drive it unsure where to park. I was the only one! I walked around to check out the trees. Eventually this man approached me and asked if I had any questions. I asked him about shade trees, trees with non invasive roots. I also wanted a few flowering plums trees. They were priced at $45.00. Not knowing what trees cost these days, I thought of driving to 2 other nurseries to get an idea. I mentioned to him, I live a mile away and will be back to get some trees. This nursery was short on ground covers and annual flowers. They had a lot of trees and shrubs. Next stop was this nursery on Allen Road. Hmm, it was crowded and I barely found a spot to park. I asked to see some trees and was directed towards the back. Wow, same trees in the same pot cost $20+ more! This nursery sure had a lot choices for annuals, shaded plants like the Japanese Maple. Last stop, a nursery on Norris Road. Not as expensive compared to my 2nd stop. Not much tree selection but definitely had a lot of ground covers, annuals and shrubs. If you are looking for trees to plant here in Bakersfield, Monte Vista is the nursery. Cheapest price for healthy trees.

I am giving them two stars, only for the quality of the shrubs I bought. Their customer service is…read morehorrible. I needed 35 shrubs for a backyard fence cover. My gardener recommended them, as he said the price per shrub was $13 a piece. I called on the phone and the person who answered said they were $14 a piece. I figured that the price could be fluid, so I went. When I was given a price, it was now $15 a piece and $60 for delivery. I still agreed and set up a delivery for next day, on the condition I get a call when they were on their way. I also asked if I could return any unused plants and the person said yes. The next day I was about to leave my house to run errands and up drives the delivery truck. I never received a call. I was lucky I hadn't left earlier. What set me off was when I tried to return one of the plants. The same guy I bought them from tried to return $13 to me. He either didn't remember me, or tried to play me, but I showed him the receipt with the $15 a plant on it. I don't appreciate paying more than I should have. I will never shop here again.

Rafael, the fountain repair technician for Majestic Palms and Fountains did a fantastic job of repairing all the cracks, sealing the fountain, and replacing the pump. Very inexpensively I might add. It's perfectly working is working beautifully.

I found the pricing a wee bit steep but yards are always expensive to keep looking nice! We went on a Sunday and found the grounds to be much larger than expected! Other large out buildings are there to check out that house a lot of pottery and colorful Mexican imports that serve as decor. No one at all helped us until we went into the office and asked a nice lady to ring us up. At least, very low pressure sales. Delivery and set up was $120. A third of the price of the fountain itself! Still, worth it after seeing that the guys showed up on delivery day even earlier than expected. They also gave us a call for a 20 min heads up that they were coming. They even removed our old fountain upon request for either resale of parts if they want to, or for trash. They worked quickly, cleanly and were polite/professional. The whole transaction was very smooth and the fountain looks and operates great! I would return for other purchases and recommend this family owner business.
