Since that review on Facebook, I was really in need of just a few things, so months later, I returned. I was not only able to grab what I needed, I was also able to talk to the staff like a person on who made me feel like we were on the same level. That means a lot to a customer. Kudos to you Mr. Owner! (A short background story, and why I wanted to refuse to enter that establishment pence more; Went to pick up a few things for the garden. I asked about a few products that the do not carry, and was treated like trash because that particular employee "knew how to grow the 'best' ways," and seemed to talk down on my decisions/questions. Obviously, because he doesn't understand that everyone has their own way of doing things. This isn't my first rodeo, and I know somethings are way better as high dollar items, but I also understand that some cheaper items will work out just as well. Sometimes even better. There is no reason for any employee to treat you like garbage, and act clearly conceded, and ignorant to the customers. There's nothing wrong with not having an immediate answer, or even the knowledge of someone else's application. That one person was the reason I couldn't go back. It's hard to support any business who hires employees that can't understand the products, doesn't know about any products outside their specific inventory, then pretend he's the 'best' at anything.)

As I drove by I noticed the property was full of trees. I drive it unsure where to park. I was the only one! I walked around to check out the trees. Eventually this man approached me and asked if I had any questions. I asked him about shade trees, trees with non invasive roots. I also wanted a few flowering plums trees. They were priced at $45.00. Not knowing what trees cost these days, I thought of driving to 2 other nurseries to get an idea. I mentioned to him, I live a mile away and will be back to get some trees. This nursery was short on ground covers and annual flowers. They had a lot of trees and shrubs. Next stop was this nursery on Allen Road. Hmm, it was crowded and I barely found a spot to park. I asked to see some trees and was directed towards the back. Wow, same trees in the same pot cost $20+ more! This nursery sure had a lot choices for annuals, shaded plants like the Japanese Maple. Last stop, a nursery on Norris Road. Not as expensive compared to my 2nd stop. Not much tree selection but definitely had a lot of ground covers, annuals and shrubs. If you are looking for trees to plant here in Bakersfield, Monte Vista is the nursery. Cheapest price for healthy trees.
