The burger tastes homemade good and the seasoned fries seem to be fries with seasoning on top. The service here was nice. A family owned business. The food was just as good as I remember when I was a kid, I ordered the club sandwich with sweet potato fries, the fries I would get again just minus the salt. The club sandwich was made with three breads so it's very filling. And my banana walnut shake is always a good sweet treat. The food was all delicious and the young staff members are great. Very nice and attentive. Clean atmosphere looking like the 50-69 era with like music playing. Really cool vibe. Really needs improvement! I can't say that I received service with a smile from the start. I really thought that Service would've been better not just because this is not a chain, but the place wasn't busy at all. My family and I were going for an outing and we're looking forward to some homemade burgers and such. It was really a disappointment, especially when you realize how pricey things have become due to inflation, resulting in going out has not been as a regular occurrence as it used to be. Getting an incorrect order really sucks. They don't tell you that when you order one of the smaller burgers you're not getting a homemade patty that you do with a larger burger. If I wanted one of those pre-frozen hockey pucks, I would just go to McDonald's. On a positive note restaurant is still reminiscent of a 50s diner, which is really cool. The music fits the theme and decor, which was great. I hope that the owners can really step it up, get some employees who actually care about their work, and get things back to what can be a positive experience. read more

When I visited this place two months ago, I gave that visit five stars. Food- burgers and shakes- awesome. Today I think I would give it a two star. The hamburgers were just OK. The cherry shake did not have the cherries chopped up and therefore, the cherries were big chunks on the bottom of the cup and not actually in the shake itself. I've always heard about this place and wanted to give it a try. When you walk in you order at the counter right on the left of the door. Check the chalkboard menu up and to the left of the counter, sometimes they have a change in the options for the boys and burgers. At the recommendation of the Staff, I tried the Frosto Special. It is there house poboy, damn fine. I got the half and it was kind of small so you probably ordered up if you're more than a little hungry. Holly, the manager did NOT care about our experience today! We didn't get our food for over 40 minutes, they lost our order. We ordered at 11:47 and our friends ordered right after us. They got their food within 20 minutes. They lost our order. They didn't even start making it until my husband went and asked about it. My sons fries were still frozen, like they had ice on them frozen. We were offered free ice cream and we ordered it, we never got it. They lost that order too! They were constantly asking if anyone was missing this or that. They DO NOT have their stuff together. Holly did NOT care at all. She was rude and couldn't handle the restaurant. I am editing to add in new information regarding the owner! They contacted me yesterday at 2:37pm and asked I call them at my earliest convenience. Yesterday was family day and today I am homeschooling my kids and have had to go to town for groceries and then come and out them away. The owner decided to get rude with me. My husband asked about this place at the LA visitor's center. One of the ladies had just eaten there and said she enjoyed it. I loved reading about the history of the restaurant; however, I wasn't at all impressed by the appearance of the building. Interior was ok. Walking in, there was no greeting. Went to the counter and realized we had to order at the counter. Still nothing from the young lady who would take our order. We had the 4 oz old fashioned burger which was very good. I judge a burger joint by its chicken. I can't have burgers due to me getting headaches with white bread. So I have to get the chicken. But on top of burgers they also have excellent po boys per the other people I dined with. The chicken was excellent and the best chicken strips I've ever had. The burger I got from here wasn't good. It tasted like it was from Mcdonald's with seasoning . It wasn't worth the price. My boyfriend got a patty melt which looked like a poor grilled cheese with a small patty to accompany. Some of the fries were cold with some warm ones on the top. The drinks were flat, just don't spend the money on the drinks either . I only say this because when I got a float from here it tasted flat with ice cream in it . The service was kind of okay. Not much to say on that because they weren't inviting, they were just there. Overall, you'll have a better chance at going to a fast food joint because it's not much of a eatery to say you want real food to be cooked. read more

After a really rough night in New Orleans and making very little progress on our Atlanta to Los Angeles road trip, we wound up at Frosto's. After a night and morning of puking out my intestines, Frosto's gave me that homey old time comfort feel I so desperately craved. There's nothing like a 50's diner and a cardboard Elvis to drag you out of your downward spiral post New Orleans. Frosto's was great. The décor was typical 1950's. Or at least what I assume was 1950's. After all I wasn't there and if you really think about it, what if in 65 years someone had a 2010's diner, what the hell would that even look like? How can you sum up a whole period of time with one design theme? I don't know, but I like it here in second hand 1950 and it served as the perfect spot to nurse my stomach bile. We ordered milkshakes and listened to Elvis and the Beach Boys and enjoyed the photos of all the old greats on the walls and tables. The diner was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It's a few miles off the main highway, so you wouldn't just get off the exit to gas up and take a pee and see this diner. You have to know it's here and drive a bit through town to get there, but it's worth the detour. I ordered the catfish platter, which came with 3 HUGE pieces of fried catfish, fries, a salad and a biscuit. Yeah hold the salad, it's like ordering a diet coke with 10 Big Macs. Everything was great. My husband ordered a burger and fries and was very pleased. I thank Frosto's for taking in my sick, disheveled corpse and reviving to it's prior glee. read more

We've always eaten here and haven't had a problem but our recent visit we didn't enjoy. Especially with covid you would think it would be kept clean but it wasn't. The fountain drink taste bad. Frosto Diner. What can I say? Cool atmosphere, great food and a super friendly staff. It's clean, easy to get to, the food is great and did I mention that the food is great? Ok...if I haven't mentioned anything about the food being great, let me suggest the bacon cheeseburger. The sweet little gal at the counter assured me that Frosto Diner is known, and people come from all over, for their bacon cheeseburger. I can honestly say that it was one helluva good burger. I would, and WILL, make the drive to go back to Frosto just to get another one. I highly recommend this little place. It's great diner food and it's a fun place to go and just visit. It's been there since the '50's, so if you're in Southern Louisiana, you're into cool Americana and you like a great cheeseburger (or any other delicious road food- they have a pretty extensive menu)...you have to stop in and check them out. read more

Service was a little in the slow department but the food was phenomenal. I had the 1/2 club poboy and my fiancé had the whole fried shrimp poboy. The fries were a large portion and we could have split a small. Would definitely eat here again. For 2 poboys, 2 small fries and 2 drinks which are all separate was about $25. read more

Awful customer service. I rarely rate for bad service, the food wasn't bad, but the attitude of the order taker and waitress who brought the order was inexcusable. I always try to be especially polite and tip well, especially at restaurants open during Covid, even in a drive thru. Didn't place any difficult or special request orders. However, the middle aged woman who took the order was short with me, unfriendly, and treated my presence as a bother. The server who brought our order had the same unfriendly attitude, even when I was smiling and tipping. No "thank you," nothing...just handed the order over with no eye contact, had already turned away from the window as I reached to take the order. And the wait.... 45 min for two basic menu items and an appetizer. We were the second car in the drive thru line . Had gone off the beaten path to even find this place. Def the fast food locations I passed up to come here train their staff to at minimum smile and be polite. Geez. What a disappointment. read more

We found this place on yelp as we were driving home to Austin Texas!!! It's off the beaten path but the shakes, Cajun burger and onion rings are well worth it!!! The prices were $5 burgers and $3.50 shakes! The onion rings were handmade- "thin" rings that were the best!! read more

Don't be mislead by the unassuming exterior of this 50's diner. It's pretty neat inside, but the best bit is... the food! I had the catfish poboy, which was so fresh. Best fish sammich in years! The bread was classic LA poboy yummy, as was my husband's poboy, with freshly caught shrimp. Our son had a fried chicken wrap, that he thoroughly enjoyed. It might be a couple of miles off the beaten path, off I10 on a road trip, but worth it. We plan to make this a regular stop on our travels. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner.
