We stopped here with our friends on our way back from a trip to Treasure Island. We always enjoy the ambiance, friendly young staff and more importantly very tasty food. The diner is very clean and has a charming atmosphere. Vintage and retro metal signs cover the walls for your viewing pleasure. There is also a large ice cream display case filled with many different flavors to choose from. The menu also offers four different kinds of beer. On this particular Wednesday afternoon, the place was busy but we found a table quickly. Our server was very attentive and friendly and our meal was served hot. There is plenty of parking in the restaurant lot. You can also sit outside on wooden picnic tables. I recommend Frostbite and look forward to eating here again! read more

First time ever being here I went through drive thru ordered my food after I paid I was told to park in the queue. They bring your ice cream to you first of course and make your food fresh. The barbecue wings had just the right amount of sauce and burger was good. I thought by how many people outside I would have to wait long but no they brought my food out under 30 min. What a cute little dinner spot! Peyton was our waitress and she was attentive to our dining needs. I had the apple pecan chicken wrap with French fries. It was perfect: stuffed full of grilled chicken, apple, pecans, dried cranberries, and bleu cheese. My friends had the Reuben sandwich and the same wrap as I did but with fried okra. Our first time at Frostbite Ice Cream & More was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by Jay. What a character. We loved his personality. Our server was Gracie, she was so pleasant to talk to. We enjoyed her hospitality. We asked for recommendations on the menu and we went with them. She didn't steer us wrong. I had the Thai Wrap. It was packed full of fried chicken, craisens, lo-mein noodles, lettuce, glazed pecans, mandarin oranges and a ginger dressing. It was so flavorful. My husband had the Italian Sub. We shared the flaming fries as an appetizer. It had so much going on in that dish and was packed with flavor. It had buffalo chicken, bacon, cheese and ranch on the side. Of course, we brought half back because we wanted to have ice cream. We each got a sundae. They were so good. We will be back and will definitely be telling our friends about it. I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. I feel that the name Frostbite Ice Cream is very deceiving as to what this business actually offers. It's so much more than just an ice cream shop! Now don't get me wrong- the ice cream is definitely the star and worth the brag here. I got a simpler chocolate malt and couldn't have been happier with the thick, refreshing dessert I was served. They have plenty of hard packed ice cream flavors as well. But the lovely "secret" here is how decent their food actually is! It's definitely a simple menu with things like wraps, burgers, quesadillas and such. But the quality is much better than I ever would have expected. I visited Frostbite for lunch earlier today and had a good experience. I ordered the Philly Steak at the recommendation of the server. A soft bun was filled with tender steak, gooey provolone cheese, juicy mushrooms and flavorful onions. The diner also has a large ice cream menu so at a minimum I had to have a scoop. It's been years since I wrote a review for this wonderful, quirky retro diner so it's time for an update. My original review remains spot on regarding atmosphere and service, so I won't repeat that. Before I forget- Pro tip- This place is soft drinks only. If you need an adult libation or two or three, there is a justifiably famous dive bar exactly one mile down the road near the center of town. It's amazing how many folks stop there before or after their meal here. Just sayin. Covid- Masks on all the servers. Sanitizer on every table. Social distancing enforced. Add a half dozen or so outside shaded tables and things are in decent shape here in these trying times. Food- I ordered a simple Cuban and fries along with a soft drink for about $12. It was out quickly, and the sandwich was hot and nicely pressed.  There were plenty of proteins. What I really like that is sometimes a problem with Cubans, is the balance of ingredients but not here. Just the right amount of mustard and ditto for the pickles. Nicely done all around. Pro tip- They have a nice selection of homemade ice cream here, but I never seem to get to it because I'm stuffed with my meal. Sometimes, on a hot summer Florida day, I show up just for an ice cream shake. They are about six miles off Route 27 in Polk County and it's a straight shot. If you are in the area and looking for a great lunch that is also kid friendly, make the detour. You won't regret it. read more

I guess that we should focus on the "& More" part of the business name and realize there is more (or perhaps more appropriately "& More") to this business establishment. Don't get me wrong,, Frostbite Ice Cream & More has some good ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes and the like, but they also offer a simple yet fulfilling menu of food that a retro-type diner place such as this would offer. You can never go wrong with a cheeseburger from here. Is it the best cheeseburger you will ever have? Absolutely not. However, it is a good burger and the atmosphere will have you yearning for that time when D.A.'s and leather jackets were the fashion for guys and the girls wore poodle skirts. Frostbite is the reason I don't mind driving to Frostproof for work. I almost always have lunch here when I am down this way. They make delicious burgers, hot dogs, bbq sandwiches, and of course ice cream. The interior reminds you of a 1950's diner. You seat yourself and menus are on the tables. The food is typical diner fare. You can't go wrong with a burger and fries here. I've tried other things and nothing I've had is bad, but I keep coming back to the burger and fries. The key is not to eat so much that you don't have room for ice cream. This is a skill I haven't yet mastered. My favorite ice cream treat so far was the brick house (peanut butter and banana sundae), but as yummy as it was I couldn't finish it. This place can be very busy, especially during the winter, but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. They have a drive thru too. read more

I love this place. Since moving to Florida back in 2019, I haven't found a good grill that makes a great hot dog. My search ended today. I've tried other peoples suggestions for a great hot dog and have been continually disappoint with places like Portillo's which supposably has gourmet hot dogs. I was impressed that you can build your own dog at Frostbite. I chose mustard, onions, chili and slaw. I was pleasantly surprised that the bun was oversized which was perfect for the meaty winner (which by the was was perfectly seasoned and cooked) and the bun was toasted which helps a sloppy dig like Mike hold together while eating it. They used purple onion which provided a nice contrast to their amazing chili and the slaw was on point! The prices at this little gem was really low compared to other place similar to this place. We finished our meal with a cone of Vanilla and a cone of Chocolate Cake ice Cream. The ice cream was like the ice cream that we ate as kids! I will definitely make another hour drive to try other items on the menu. read more

I had pistachio almond ice cream which was soooo yummy... perfect on a hot sunny beautiful Saturday afternoon. Hubby had vanilla soft serve with caramel... it was standard but good. I had a patty melt, which was DELICIOUS!! There was sautéed red onions & cheddar on it & they used rye bread. Hubby had a pulled pork sandwich which is mixed with mustard bbq sauce & topped with Cole slaw. He's picky about mayo cuz he doesn't like it too creamy but he said it was really good. The pulled pork was nice & smoky, and the sauce had a nice tang to it. We'll definitely be coming here more often when we're in the area. All of the employees were very nice. It's a super cute diner with roomy indoor and outdoor seating reminiscent of a 50's-60's type diner / ice cream shoppe. We were promptly greeted by our server and drink orders taken.i couldn't help but notice how friendly and accommodating all of the staff was, everyone was smiling and pleasant. We ordered the onion tanglers to start. It was a very generous portion and so good!! For lunch my husband had the hamburger (I forgot to photograph) and I had the Thai wrap which was amazing!! We splurged and got cream as well, we had strawberry cheesecake ice cream and a caramel sundae. I have to tell you, they were not stingy on the caramel sauce, I was in heaven!!
