Today we ordered…read moreFried Green Tomatoes ($9), Chef Salad($13.70), Texas Club Sandwich with gone fries($12.50), and Country Fried Chicken with sides of mashed potatoes and corn ($14.20). Nothing was overly salty and everything we ordered we would all order again. The Chef Salad was large and looked fancy with fresh vegetables and lettuce and meat and cheese roll ups. The Texas Club was a tasty chicken salad sandwich on crisp Texas Toast with a nice light taste. The Country Fried Chicken was moist, easy to cut with a fork and seasoned just right. We don't often find a fried chicken breast as nice as this one. The fried green tomatoes were plentiful and prepared just right and perfectly crisp. Our server today was Annabel and she was just as friendly and attentive as we wanted/needed. When we sat down, I was hoping this might become my new favorite restaurant and they lived up to that hope. We live close to an hour away but I'm thinking we may drive back for breakfast tomorrow. This is most definitely a highly recommended place to visit.

Arriving- Not many folks have been to Frostproof as it's so tiny. It's a five mile straight shot off US Route 27. Big parking lot so that's not a problem. Ambience- Typical. Kitsch on the walls, booths and tables and a counter that seats 8-10. You've seen it all before. Kids are welcome. Customer Service- Several of the servers have been there many years and seen it all. You can expect them to be friendly and efficient. I've never had a problem. Food- It's rural Central Florida folks so expect standard American fare. This visit I Ordered a Meatlovers Omelet with Home Fries. It came with my choice of toast or a biscuit, but I skipped that because I knew I was getting a lot of food! Of course, I had coffee. The pre-tip tab was about $14. As you can see, a lot of food! The cook knows how to finish home fries. Note the beautiful browning but not burnt. They need a little more seasoning but still very good. The omelet was huge and packed with proteins. Delicious! So, you're blowing down route 27, maybe with the little munchkins, and you need a reliable breakfast or lunch. You're sick of chains. You can't go wrong here, and you should expect a 4-star experience!

-7 years of patronage! -…read more I was 1st to review these fine folks in 2018 and have since had breakfast here many times. This visit was my 1st time for lunch! Important note- This is NOT the franchise chain with a similar name! This is a different family-run, single location restaurant. Pro Tip- Breakfast & Lunch only. Just check Yelp for dinner options in the area. Arriving- They are on the Northbound side of US Route 27, hidden in the Sebring Square Plaza. They're nestled among a string of plazas and signage is not great. Use your GPS. Hint- Look for the Winn-Dixie or Advanced Auto Parts signage and you're there! As they are in a plaza, parking is almost always a snap. Ambience- Don't get excited. It's standard Florida Kitch. You don't go to an inexpensive restaurant to admire the décor. You expect neat and clean, and you will absolutely get that here. Pro Tip- Wi-Fi can be spotty due to the business location. They do have Wi-Fi, but it's restricted to management only. Not the servers, not the customers, just management! Say goodbye to one half star! Customer Service- 10 Stars! I was seated with a menu and had my drink within a minute. I placed my order within a minute of when I was ready and my food was out in less than 10 minutes. Just perfection! My wonderful server was Bobbi-Lynn. I know this because a card on the table told me so. When she delivered my check, she flipped the card over and there was a message. See my picture. So unique and appreciated! Pro Tip- As with many great places in this area, the Sunday church rush is something you do not want to experience! Here it begins around noon so beware of Sundays! Food- Standard American comfort food at its best. As they are in the city of Sebring, you might see a dish called Sebring this or Sebring that, but that's just a marketing ploy. It's still just good ole comfort food. On this visit my trusted Yelp Friend, Art J., recommended the Patty Melt & Crinkle Cut Fries so I went with that. Great job Art! My Melt was piping hot and cooked just as I requested. The caramelized onions were perfect. The fries were hot and crispy. Just a wonderful lunch for about $13 and change. Conclusion- Over 8 years, these fine folks have almost 700 reviews that average 4.5 stars from Yelp and that other site that some folks use and that's impressive. When I first reviewed them, this wasn't true, but they have matured, and I now agree! If they ever change their misguided Wi-Fi decision, I'd go 5 stars!

While the menu didn't have any of those, we both found something to try. I had the Ricotto Blackberry Orange Stack, side of bacon, and coffee. Hubby had the Saturday only chicken & waffles and asked for a Coke and was told they only had Mt. Dew, which he prefers! They do make smoothies. Very cute cafe located in a strip mall, some jazz playing, and friendly staff. A few people came in for to go orders while we waited for our food. From social media and the prices it would appear the pancake stack could feed 2 people easily, but I was let down with no "wow" factor. I couldn't help thinking the size compared to fast food hot cakes. Taste was okay, the Orange was present, just nothing I would recommend anyone drive 40 minutes for. Hubby's waffle came a little after mine, no big deal. We share anyway. The waffle is huge, but chewy on the outside to the point of being tough and raw on the inside. The wings are lightly dusted, flavorful, and the highlight of the meal. They have a great concept and I wish them the best! Give them a try, you may love it.
