We were in Winter Haven, FL, for the weekend celebrating my friend's 50th birthday, and before…read moreheading back home on Sunday, we wanted to find a nice brunch spot with interesting, unique entrées and cocktails. That's when we came across Sauvage, a Polynesian craft bar & kitchen located in the heart of Winter Haven. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was right--vibrant, tropical, trendy, and fun. And then we spotted two retro arcade games--Mortal Kombat II and Street Fighter Turbo--that guests can play while waiting for their food. Talk about nostalgia! That definitely took us back to our childhoods. Okay, okay... I'm showing our age. Let's get back to the food! The Brunch Sauvage's menu combines Polynesian-inspired cuisine with American favorites and creative twists, which immediately caught our attention. We decided to share two entrées: Duck Confit Benedict Duck confit served over crispy hash browns, topped with poached eggs, hollandaise, and chives. Brunch Scallion Pancake A savory scallion pancake topped with scrambled eggs, cheese, millionaire bacon, island sauce, and sweet Thai chili, served with a side of grits. Both dishes were different, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I especially loved that each entrée came served in its own personalized cast-iron skillet. It made the presentation feel rustic and unique while keeping everything warm. And the portions were perfectly sized for brunch--satisfying without being overwhelmingly heavy. And Then There Was the Cocktail... We couldn't visit a Polynesian craft bar without trying one of their creative cocktails! We went with the Mango Sticky Rice Milk Punch -- made with coconut-washed brandy, mango soju, five-spice, and vanilla. This cocktail was cool, light, fruity, and refreshing, with just enough of that tropical flavor to make it feel like the perfect summer brunch drink. Honestly, I really enjoyed it! Sauvage was such a fun find for our Sunday brunch. Between the tropical atmosphere, creative Polynesian-American menu, unique cocktails, nostalgic arcade games, and beautifully presented food, it was definitely more than just your typical brunch spot. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-portioned, and thoughtfully presented. And the fact that we discovered it while celebrating a 50th birthday weekend made the experience even better. Would I come back? Absolutely! Next time we're in Winter Haven, we're skipping brunch and coming back for dinner. I'm definitely curious to see what Sauvage is doing with their dinner menu. Sauvage gets a "we'll definitely be back" from us!

Walking up the vibe is beautiful. It feels like all we needed to do was have a bed placed inside the restaurant to take a nap after a delicious meal. This was the best brisket burger I've ever had. Jen was amazing and was on top of making sure we ordered the best food. Top tier service. I'm definitely coming back!

So I am slightly confused. I already did a review for Port 27, I guess this is a new page. To be…read moreclear, Port 27 is a venue which has a brewery with its namesake Port 27. There in lies some of the confusion on my part because my last review I guess was for the brewery and not the venue, but I kinda reviewed it in its entirety. So here I go again. Port 27 is a lakeside destination with iconic views, good eats, a great brewery and eclectic shops. I have been here more times than I can count. It is quite convenient as it is less than a 5 minute drive from my house. And the bike ride isn't bad either on a Sunday when it's not too hot. So I have been here in the evening on the weekend with live music. They host events like runs, and there is even a comedy show. Port 27 is both kid friendly, and pet friendly. There are plenty of places to sit and there is a kind of kids area as well. Most of the major events are hosted on the outside stage. The shops: Antica Trattoria has some of the best pizza in Florida. It is popular and stays packed, yet they get the pizza out pretty quickly. There is a fair amount of seating inside. And, there are places throughout Port 27 to leave your pizza boxes when you are done. Van de Walle has great coffee and awesome desserts and the staff and service are on par with the coffee and desserts. They roast their own beans in house and make all of the desserts in house. You can purchase their coffee and theybwill grind it for you to your preference. Port 27 the brewery is a bit cloistered and on a busy evening or the weekends, the lines can be a little much. But the wait is well worth it because the beer is quite awesome. The servers are passionate about the beer and you can get samples, but when it is super busy you should just jump in to respect the patrons behind you. There are also burgers, tacos, ice cream, arts and crafts, candles and a shop that has vinyl records. Every time I go it is always a new adventure and somehow I never get bored. If you are in Polk County Florida and looking for something to occupy the whole family, Port 27 is a great option. But don't take my word, see it for yourself.

The bartender gave us some pointers and then gave us a minute to decide. A sample or two then decisions were made. The IPA was delicious and my wife got a cocktail that was gone pretty quickly. Use the QR codes to order food. They bring it to you from the various spots around the property. Nachos came first. Ask for two sets of silverware and extra napkins. You will need them. It was really good but really messy. I was hungry when we ordered. Should have waited. The nachos filled us. That bruschetta was taken home and devoured while watching a movie. Great friendly bartender. Nice quiet atmosphere with lots of conversations going on around us. We're coming back when the weather is better.
