When a situation like this happens, as a customer, you want to feel like someone cares about your problem as much as you do. Some other plumbers told us they would call us in a couple days which obviously left us desperate. Jed at Apex Plumbing really took care of us. Even though I called late in the day he gave me personal attention and was sure to follow up to give me updates on the status, texts to make sure his team had arrived and followed up a couple times the same day to make sure we were in good shape. Honest and genuine, we will happily recommend Apex Plumbing to our friends and family.

They started on time, worked in scorching heat all day, finished on time and left the site clean. When I noticed two places they missed, they came back within the week to make the fix. Jeanette was responsive and answered all my questions. I appreciate that they make their own mortar to match materials from the period our house was built and understand older homes. Thanks team! The price was very reasonable and more affordable than other quotes I got. Thanks!

What you see in the photos is actually their second attempt. The original work looked even worse, so I complained and they came back and redid it. Afterward, owner Tracy Zimmer personally went back to inspect the work and emailed me that "the mortar will blend in fine." So what you see in these photos wasn't something that escaped his attention -- he inspected it and considered it acceptable. The first two photos show Chimney Jack's work. The third shows the existing mortar and brickwork elsewhere on the same house for comparison. I should have left this review in 2021, but life got in the way. Spending more time at the property recently reminded me just how unhappy I still am with what I received for $850. I would not hire Chimney Jack again.

When I was purchasing my home, my general inspector noted various foundation issues in his report,…read moreand recommended that I have a structural engineer come and inspect as well. I raised this as an inspection objection, and the seller decided to hire Susan to come out and inspect. She refuted and confirmed different issues raised by the general inspector, and then the seller collected quotes for the work she recommended, and gave me a concession for that work -- about $8k. Fast forward to 7.5 years later when I was selling the home -- the buyers decided to have Susan McGourty come back out. She told them that the foundation work was not performed properly, and gave them a verbal estimate of $50k in repairs for the house, apparently without giving them any written report, which they said that she would charge for if we wanted it. We got the buyer's permission to speak with her, and she acknowledged that the original work was not done properly, saying that she knew the mason who performed the work, and that he does "good work" but that he just wasn't the right person for the job. I asked her why she quoted over 5 times the original repair cost, and she acknowledged that there were additional issues raised. I asked why she did not raised those issues 7.5 years ago, surely they weren't knew, and she became flippant at this point, saying that "I was only hired to address the issues the general inspector raised". When I objected saying that despite the seller commissioning her, it was my general inspector's report, and I'd been living there for 7.5 years with these issues, she cut me off and said simply "I work for the people who are paying me, just like you." Ma'am, you don't know me. I'm an engineer too, and actually, the customers who I work for and the people who pay me are entirely different individuals, as is the case for probably the majority of the country. But more importantly, as a PE, you should know that your obligations are to the safety, health, and welfare of the public and persons who will be impacted by the work you're performing. I was absolutely shocked at her candor and unprofessional conduct. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I would not recommend Liftech based on my experience. The biggest concerns were the lack of proper…read moresubgrade preparation, the lack of transparency, and the difficulty getting clear, consistent answers throughout the process. I specifically chose and paid extra for high early cement because my goal was to regain access to my garage parking as soon as possible. I expected clear guidance on the product's performance and realistic timelines. Instead, I received conflicting information ranging from not being able to walk on the concrete for 48 hours to not being able to park on it for anywhere from 2-10 days. When I asked for clarification, the responses were vague. Liftech's production manager stated, "There are no specific specs for high early since it is mixed with concrete at the plant," and also said, "There is varying information because no concrete is created equally." I would expect concrete professionals and concrete plants to have more consistent information regarding the product being installed. Another major concern was the subgrade preparation. Liftech subcontracted the concrete work, and when the crew arrived, they did not even have a compactor onsite. I asked the workers if they planned to compact the subgrade, and based on their responses and actions, it did not appear that proper compaction was part of their plan until I contacted their Project Manager and requested that a compactor be brought to the site. A video documenting the work can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/YBubb-Wx-ac. In the video, it appears that only about 50% of the area was properly compacted, with some areas not compacted at all. The subbase also does not appear to have been watered down as part of the preparation process. The video speaks for itself regarding the preparation that was completed before the concrete was poured. For a project of this size and cost, I expected better communication, transparency, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, my experience left me questioning both the workmanship and the information provided throughout the process.

My home warranty had Mile High Plumbing and Air do a service call on our A/C where the condensation line was leaking. AJ came on a Friday evening and recommended installing a condensation pump and a few other miscellaneous items. Great. He couldn't perform the work that day, so he said he'd send me a quote and provide his report to insurance the next day (Saturday). This was during a heat wave, so I asked I asked him to come back out as soon as possible. I didn't hear from AJ on Saturday, so I called his office on Monday to ask for the quote. The office said they'd contact AJ for the report and quote. On Wednesday, I still hadn't received the report or quote, so I called again to ask for the quote and to file the report with my insurance company since we needed that to perform the work. On Thursday, I still hadn't heard anything, and by this time, it had been five days since their initial visit. Temperatures were in the mid-90s, and my upstairs was nearly 90 degrees, with the family unable to sleep upstairs. We were all on inflatable mattresses downstairs. I called my home warranty company to see what to do since the report to them was due within 48 hours of the service call. The home warranty company called the office, which said they'd have the report in that day. On Friday, I called the home warranty company again who called Mile High Plumbing & Air again with no answer. The insurance company still hadn't received any report, and I hadn't received a quote for service yet. At this point, it had been a week since they did their initial visit without receiving anything, so I decided to schedule a meeting with another A/C company. The other A/C company came within a couple of days and installed the condensation pump in less than an hour. Problem solved. AJ seemed like a competent technician and was friendly, but after 4 follow-up calls to their office to get a simple quote (which never arrived) and on the schedule, there's no way I could recommend this company. If the company is too busy or something to perform the work, they shouldn't take a service call and shouldn't take 4 calls to get a simple quote. It's been over 2 weeks since the initial service call at this point and I still haven't heard back from them. Mile High Plumbing & Air cost me over a week of not having a working A/C unit, waiting for them to provide a simple quote for service and schedule a time to perform the fix, which is totally unacceptable for a critical service business.

They'll lure you in with low inspection rates and whatnot, and promises that you can do simple repairs yourself, but when push comes to shove it turns out you CAN'T actually do simple repairs yourself (even after multiple people there never said it was a problem while we were in contact with them about our very simple "a disconnected wire" repair, and even told us it was satisfactorily resolved before then turning around and saying "just kidding, it still requires a site visit"). And a "site visit" is $504 minimum, for even a 5-10 minute process. You also can expect to go days without hearing from people like your sales rep. Before we even signed on with them, I had to leave several increasingly frustrated emails and voicemails to get someone to call me back. Most recently the sales manager (who seems to be in non-stop "meetings") promised me a call the next day after we spoke about my concerns, and over a week later I still haven't heard from her. Meetings and profits are all this company seems to care about, not customers or standing by what they promise you to get your business. I would avoid them.
