Even though they had no problem made the trip to Longmont in April when they accepted the service call while the property was being sold. The unit was never turned on since that "repair" was made. Now that it needs to be looked at again, they can't make the trip out there. Even though their invoice says they have a year on new parts that are installed. They installed a new switch. Instead they point out the 30 day warranty on service. That's fine, but how do you warrant the part without going out there to see what the issue is????. I asked that they call me to discuss. Instead, they texted back saying "no parts were replaced. There is no warranty to be honored" They said this even though I sent them the invoice which in their own writing said "parts: Wall switch" Again, I asked that they please call me. That if they had time to text, they could call me. They wouldn't. Instead they replied that "our phones are jammed. We should have been called before now. That was April-this is October" I wish that I was clairvoyant, and I would have called them before now. There was no need to run the fireplace until the weather changed and got colder! That was the end of the conversation as they chose to stop communicating with me. Bottom line, they were completely unprofessional and unwilling to stand behind their work and their own stated warranty policy. The entire town home complex will be alerted to this lousy company and their even lousier customer service and anyone else I come across who may need fireplace work will hear the same.

Our contractor picked it up for us after the 10 days. He called to let us know that the cost had gone up $500 + tx. A reputable business would have told us that the pricing was going up very soon and suggest, at least, that we buy it at the time we were there. I called and called and called, left messages and finally received a call back, each and every time. I can't count how many times I had to have his workers come out to repair my awning. Not only did they come out to repair it, each and every time a worker came out it was a different worker. They kept quitting or getting fired, and basically hated what they were doing. Now, it's been 3 years and I've attempted to call his office (the phone is no longer in service). Called his cell number (the number is no longer in service). Called the company's phone and it went to voice mail, but I did get a number to call, so I called it. I believe Ron answered can kept saying "hello, hello, hello". Apparently he either didn't hear me or didn't want to speak with me. I've left messages on his work phone to call me, I've texted him on his cell phone - crickets is all I hear. All I wanted is to have someone come out and adjust this awning since one side is much lower than the other. Sure I can watch Youtube and most likely do it myself, but why?? I thought this thing was under warranty - evidently not! The reason I gave this company a 2 star is I rarely give out 1 stars. I did give it a 5 star when the job was finally completed, but I gave it some thought and I don't believe the overall work was rated even close to 5 stars.

Last month I reached out based on the reviews and because of when I turned on my Swamp Cooler on I…read moresmelled something burning. In addition to the burning smell, my plastic waterline which ran from the cooler on top of the roof to the side of the house had a little kink in it. That I could've done myself I've always turned on my Swamp Cooler myself and turned it off myself but I figured since they were there why not let them do it. It's hot, and who wants to climb up on a roof if not need be. Granted it's an older swamp cooler but it works just fine. At the end of the day they sold me on replacing the entire water line with copper and charged me $525. That doesn't sound bad if the problem was resolved and if the Swamp Cooler was working properly. None of that was the case. They are up on the roof with the hose, said they oiled some things or did some readjustment not really sure didn't see them doing it. They swapped out the plastic line for copper after going to Home Depot to get the copper line, which was too short btw. I looked out my kitchen window and saw the copper line going crisscross across the kitchen window. Told them that's not going to work. At that point they use some of the old plastic line to extend the copper line using a compressor or coupler Gadget that I provided. They wanted to charge me 50 or $65 to put in the new pads in that I provided, had on hand. That sounded ridiculous to me so I did it myself. They stood there and they watched never said a word. The pads were probably 3 inches too small on each side however the water did run over the pad. All parts, the new water stop plug, pads the compressor everything I provided with the exception of the copper piping that they told me I need to have. I also have a new float device which they said I did not need. Interestingly enough they don't even sell copper piping for swamp coolers at either Home Depot and or Lowes the piping that they sell is the plastic piping. Just saying. They were nice enough, go to leave at which point I again smell the burning plastic. They come in and investigate the turn on off swamp cooler switch in our bathroom closet. Louis the father, the one who seems to be the most versed, messes around with the switch and tells me sorry I cannot do electric you will need to hire an electrician. Fine I call an electrician who comes out the same day. The electrician looks at me and says listen it's the $17 Swamp Cooler switch that needs to be replaced it's wire for wire. I go to Lowe's get the Swamp Cooler switch replace it myself. Burning smell gone all works with the exception of the Swamp Cooler leaking on the roof and leaking at the faucet. It's only leaking when it's on~as in the water is on to the cooler. So I called them and they come out, the dad is borderline crabby. He says this is not our fault, your pads are too small. Nice. Also he says your faucet is broken. at that time they replaced the plastic water line, piping of mine the had used to ensure that the copper line they put in did not run across my kitchen window, with a piece of copper pipe they brought along. They leave the old piping laying on the ground as they did during their first visit. OK I go out and buy larger pads and replace them. It still leaks. It only leaks when water to the cooler is on. Meaning water is being sent up to the Cooler. So I go up and investigate and I look at the float which looks off. Since I have a brand new float that I had intended to install this summer, the one they said I did not need, I replaced the float. This stops the leak at the cooler but the leak is still at the faucet at that point I replace the Swamp Cooler faucet attachment with a new Swamp Cooler faucet attachment and redo the waterline attachment. Guess what no more leak. No leak at the Cooler on the roof and no leak at the faucet. I guess my faucet magically fixed itself. Unfortunate for them the quote they gave me for a new furnace which is thousands of dollars cheaper than the cheapest quote I received I am not interested in. my furnace works fine the issue is my AC is out and because it's 30 years old I need to replace the whole thing. I've hired someone and I am paying $6000 more than their quote~ happily. Water is one thing gas, that gets scary. After this experience I would not trust them with gas. Also I think it also tells you a lot whether or not your contractor cleans up after themselves this was not the case on either visit. They're nice people but be careful

Always knowledgable, professional, helpful, fair -- I can't say enough about SH&A. They had…read morereplaced our HVAC system last summer, and now in Summer, the A/C was not working. So we replaced the thermostat, (which they had kindly advised us to do last Spring but we kept putting it off), but still the A/C wasn't working. Called them, they arrived on time, asked me questions and thoroughly checked everything out. It turns out the HVAC system is doing great -- but they found an indoor leak (*not* caused by the HVAC system) that is getting water on the water-detector "puck" next to the furnace. That puck -- which SH&A put there for me last summer -- is doing it's job by shutting all HVAC things down / alerting me that something is wrong. They restarted the system, advised me on what to ask for when I talk with the contractors (to fix the leak) and showed me photos of the problem. I need to add that John and his colleague both spent time checking out the indoor and outdoor parts of the system. They didn't charge me anything -- likely because of a warranty period from the HVAC install. Honestly, I'm so thankful for a company that doesn't try to upsell me, or use fear tactics to make me buy something extra or take advantage of my lack of knowledge (though I'm learning as I go). SH&A keep it professional -- they focus on the problem and not how to up their profits for the day. They are the gold standard of everything HVAC. If I had a Christmas card list, I would put them on it.
