Don't make reservations with this airline. They will scam you for money after money. One of the worst experience ever! After big car accident on icy freeway in Dallas area due to severe winter storm. We wanted to fly home to LA. Purchased our tickets on the day of the accident online and next day was our flight. We were 70 miles away from the airport. Took Lyft for $140. Got to the airport and at the ticketing they told us our flight was canceled. Good thing we purchased insurance. Understandable because almost every flight was canceled due to once a year or once a generation ice storm in Dallas area. We rescheduled to next flight, which was next day. No other way to go home at this point, so we decided to reschedule. We just wanted to go home ASAP and get treated for our injuries. Luckily, we weren't bleeding or severely in pain. Anyways, we decided to stay in the terminal because we saw so many people waiting for their flights, too. After many hours, I received 2nd email saying that our flight was canceled again. We walked up to ticketing to check what's going on again.... This time they said, we can fly to Denver on Friday then take connect flight to LA, which was 3 days after (Today was Tuesday) or take direct flight on Saturday. Are you kidding?! We heard Denver wasn't in any better situation and they tell us to fly there, so we have to wait longer.... By this time, we've already waited like 15 hours in the airport.... Then, they said we can cancel our flight for no charge. As if they were saying if I didn't have my ticket insurance then they would have charged us for everything without refund. I was like "WOW!!!" Lost my words.... Now, I know why the person we met while waiting was so furious about his situation. He already waited for 2 days after cancellation and had to pay everything because he didn't purchase insurance. Then, he has to fly to Las Vegas, which was not his original destination. After arrival, he has to take Greyhound to LA. Airline pocketed all the money due to cancellations maybe made more money then regular days. Poor guy! Hopefully he made it to home safe. Continue to our story, then ticketing agent said American Airlines is flying out with minimal flights. OMG! So I walked over to next counter and purchased American Airlines flight to LA. We still had to wait about 12 hours for the flight. Now, we are in shock and worried about them canceling again so we couldn't rest well while waiting. We were in panic mode and tired.... I slept little bit on the terminal floor because I couldn't sleep sitting down with my neck injury.... I think I checked my email every 30 minutes for cancellation again.... Now, we were in terminal E but our new flight has changed to terminal D. Now, we have to grab everything and move to other terminal. Waited long time because now we were in international terminal with so many people lined up.... By now, we were at least glad that our flight wasn't canceled. We got on the plane but it was delayed for about 2 hours for takeoff due to icy runway. Soon as we were in the air, we were finally able to relax and exhale with some relief. Baggage:
We had several bags with us during this business trip in the car. This goes to both airlines, Frontier and American Airlines.... Check-in bags cost way more than actual plane ticket. Ticket was $105 for Frontier and $300 for American Airlines. Check-in bags were $150. American monopoly! This is how this country rips off people for money. I have so much more to say but I will stop here. BAD, BAD, BAD management! These airlines should be very shameful. Horrible and ruthless owners! I don't blame the ticketing agents, I blame everything on the management and especially the owners. read more
