I will keep this short. Prepaid for a consultation visit. Waited 45 minutes past my appointment time to see Dr Lamel. I had two issues - Dr Lamel offered a solution to problem #1 that I chose not to pursue. Had her remove a skin lesion on my temple for which I was charged an extra fee. Total face-to-face time was no more than 5 minutes. Asked for the additional fee to be waived given the time I had to wait and my prepayment. It was denied. Afterward I looked at the yelp reviews and I see that the longer than acceptable wait times are not uncommon. If you come anyway, be sure to bring a book. read more

Putting in 1 star because I have to, I called today to reschedule my appointment for the next day because of a work commitment to then discover I was going to be charged $75 cancellation fee because I was 30 minutes past the 24 hour window. I then indicated that I no longer wish to cancel because of the fee. He couldn't reverse it and said I had to pay the fee over the phone. I told him to cancel my rescheduled appointment because I no longer wish to support an organization who treats their customers this way. Complete scam. read more

Do NOT go to Frontier Dermatology Northgate location. I have been a patient at this location for more than a decade, previously known as Pacific Dermatology. I have referred numerous people to this location for the superior care. Annually I would see Andrea English, PA for skin exams and to this day have no complaints. On several occasions I had to be seen by the dermatologist for skin cancer removal and was informed about lasers as a preventive treatment for skin cancer. I will not deny the laser treatments also seemed enticing with benefits of antiaging. And this is when this office started to shift. No longer was it about finding good treatment for the patient, it became more of how much money can I get from this patient I continued to have areas of skin cancer that needed removal and I noticed how first it was Mohs, then it was Dr. Reichel explaining EDC would be faster for her and despite the turnout on the patient. As the years went on, I was then advised that I needed stronger lasers, which also means downtime. I decided to schedule a laser appointment further out so I could take a few days off after for healing. I scheduled with Dr. Lamar who canceled after I had taken time off work. This was frustrating but thought things happen and then rescheduled for months later. I then decided to look into laser at other facilities for cheaper options and found a place and proceeded. I went back to Pac Derm and updated them about the laser and was told by Dr. Reichel that what the outside facility did was not appropriate and should be done by her, a doctor not an ARNP. I then scheduled with her months later, taking off time from work. Day before procedure she cancels. Her staff did not care to help in rescheduling. After calling numerous times and trying to reach a manager I was scheduled with a MA for different dates and more time off work. I was confused about the scheduling with a MA, as Dr. Reichel had indicated this needed to be done by a doctor. And to top it off - same price as a doctor. The lack of care, communication, professionalism exhibited in the entire staff (not including Andrea English) is boggling. The front desk is not informed and I was over charged on numerous occasions for services over the years. Trying to reach the current manager or past managers for assistance is a joke. The "management" does not care about any situations brought to them, nor do they try to find resolutions. I even had a manger pretend to not be there when I called back. Once person stating he was gone for the day the second person stating he is here and busy. Transparency Honest and respect should be given at medical facilities. Yeah dunno: - Referred by friend to try b/c he had had a good Derm MD in Poulsbo @Frontier- waited 6mo for appt- days before- Cancelled b/c MD was leaving= 'next wait would be another 6mo for next appt'. - I went to my local Frontier @Northgate w/ recurring legions showing up topically over years. 1st appt seemed nice, but limiting- 'if you had come in right away, we could have assessed, wait until they are more active' (it had been 1 yr & while active- no open, overtly seeping wounds). I was looking for a biopsy, which could have still been done, but for 1st appt- acceptable given they don't know my history yet. - I was left with MD Assistant's email to 'get in touch w/ any questions or if skin becomes more active again!'- with a warm smile. I did write later Re my history & posed some questions- no response. - Later, a wound on back became more active (perfect for biopsy)- I wrote the Assistant- no response. I wrote again noting 'I expected a response'= 'oh yea, come in'- Assistant. - I did come in, the Assistant (who has some history and works closely w/ MD) was not present & instead I had what looked like a kid doing a summer job from school who stood in the corner. Just to say, whatever connection w/ Team I may have had was non existent by now. - She didn't even ask about the legions (by now scars- not her fault) which were of primary focus prior or really seem to have taken in last appt. When I showed the new wound on back, she asked, 'so what kind of biopsy would you even think of?' I was looking for something broad spectrum, but I am not in Derm & was looking for her input (that is if she had taken me seriously in the beginning). Needless, her voice was placating & skeptical. I did mention I have had so much skin stuff I just try not to look in lieu of getting overwhelmed- 'yeah, that is better'- MD. To be fair, it wasn't raging, it started in Asia, but needless her approach was that of placating a neurotic. I work in Psych and understand this all too well. It took all that year and that appt to realize- hell, this is another sterile rabbit hole. *What was ironically most disturbing & what made her disassociation from patient marked to the surfacer= I realized later I had been inaccurately addressing her by my Realtor's name whom I had just seen. Now, if that is not enough to make a person feel like a tool, well- ha. *This was w/ a caucasian, female MD & her Vietnamese Assistant- I mention b/c I lived in Vietnam & reminded me of a coworker. Neither seems to be there now & have forgotten their names over time. Then again, hell I could have just called them both Koko & wouldn't have mattered right ). I asked if I was in network and if my insurance would cover my visit when I submitted my insurance card and copay of $40. The woman told me that my insurance was in network and would cover my visit. Later, I was billed by Frontier Dermatology stating that my insurance was not in network, nor did it cover my visit. Frontier Dermatology did lower the charge to non insured rate but, I feel that they should write it off. I would never go out of network. I pay for insurance and I do not feel that I should have to pay almost $300 for their undertrained front desk people. It is very unethical to tell a potential patient that they are covered when they obviously do not know if they are or not. Very displeased. This was at their Vancouver,Wa location. read more

AVOID this place. Got to the appointment on time then waited in the waiting area for 20 min. Then I was brought to a patient room and was told to change into a hospital gown where I had to wait for another 60 minutes. Once the doctor came in for the checkup, I timed it on my phone and they were in and out in under 6 minutes. read more

My experience at Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic Center on Northgate Way varied depending on my dermatologist. One of my grandfathers died from skin cancer (Melanoma) in 2006 and my other grandfather had basal cell carcinoma. So, I started early in my teenage years with annual body scans looking for potentially cancerous spots. I had a number of spots taken off here when I first came in, those were elevated from the surrounding skin on my neck. I had other concerning spots removed later. Towards the end of my time coming here, they took a biopsy of a spot which turned out to be in-situ melanoma (skin cancer), however they directed me to a different doctor in California for follow-through since I had just moved there (this process was in 2015). Returning after the surgery, I got a dermatologist who was a little skittish that I was 23 years old and had already had skin cancer. It was not the biggest confidence builder, and making time on my visits to my parents to come here for an appointment drew away from family time, so eventually I found a new dermatologist(s) in California. Overall, my experience here was worthwhile, the doctors were consistently on-time, and I found the office space pleasant. read more

If the dermatologist was in the exam room with me for more than 5 minutes for a 40 minute "full body scan" I'd be shocked. In the less than 5 minutes I was "seen" I felt rushed and dismissed when asking questions. I honestly don't even think my insurance company should have to pay for this visit. Incredibly poor experience and I won't be back. The medical assistant paid more attention to me and asked better historical questions about my medical history. Look elsewhere ... read more

I have seen Elsa for over 15 years now. She is the best and I wouldn't go or trust my skin to anyone else. I've had all the facials, peels, microneedling and laser hair removal. I exclusively use their PCA, Skinmedica and Yonka products.(and whatever else Elsa recommends) After having spent so much time over the years with Elsa, I can tell you she is very knowledgeable/educated and stays up to date with all the latest aesthetics available or coming out. She is kind and charismatic. She will put you at ease and always wants the best results for her clients. When the company transitioned from NW dermatology to SSL, I considered leaving due to loss of customer service that they had when it was a smaller company. Their phone system/people answering phones is still not good. But I've stayed solely because of Elsa. Recently, I referred a friend to SSL and she experienced the same customer service issues, someone at a Mercer Island location I believe told her they didn't have an Edmonds location and she couldn't get an appt for 6 months. Coincidentally, I was at the Edmonds location for an appt. and let the skincare clinic know her experience. Hannah immediately called her and got my friend an appt. right away. Dr Reichel cancelled my appointment 3 times with little or no notice. 3 times I showed up to the appointment, only to be told once I got there that she cancelled because she's not in. They said each time that they left a voicemail, the first 2 times they did the day before the appointment and I didn't see it. So ok, my fault for not checking my voicemails right before leaving the house. So I rescheduled, and each time the new appointment was another 2 months in the future, with no option to squeeze me in sooner given that they were the ones who cancelled on me with one day notice. The 3rd time though there was no voicemail, and I received a *confirmation* text message at 6:50 pm the day before my 9:20 am appointment. They asked if I wanted to reschedule for a 4th appointment, again 2 months later. No thanks, I'm done. read more

This negative review is not on the doctors of Frontier Dermatology who were great but on the billing manager Sheila Huber. I had a MOHs surgery and when I got the bill I was surprised by how expensive it was. I called to discuss the cost and they offered to put me on a payment plan which I accepted. A few months later I received a bill for the full amount. When I called to explain I had been offered a payment plan they said they changed their mind and even though it had been agreed to and I had been on that plan for 6 months they were taking it away. I actively tried to get a hold of Sheila to discuss the situation but she refused to return my calls. (I did speak with Kelly and John- both were lovely and very nice people to deal with so nothing but positive things to say about them). I tried to offer a few alternatives that were not as good as what we had agreed upon but at least I didn't feel like I was getting completely taken advantage of. The answer I got was No so I asked again if I could speak with Sheila directly to which I was told they will pass that request along. The next day I got a text message that it had been sent to collections. I feel like if you offer a client a payment plan you should honor it. If you decide to not honor it if you are the billing manager you should have the courtesy and character to call them directly and not have the people working for you delivery that message. Also if a client with an outstanding bill is actively trying to work through the situation then the clock should stop on when it gets sent to collections. Every conversation I had with Kelly and John I said I am happy to pay my bill I just wanted to feel like I was being treated fairly. read more

I made an appointment for a keloid removal with Dr. Lamel in preparation for my wedding. I've had plenty of experience speaking with front desk staff at mental health clinics and for my PCP appointments so I came with extremely low expectations. Dr. Sonia Lamel (the dermatologist), her medical assistant (I forgot his name), and the front desk receptionist Danny was professional, understanding, and took the time to listen to my concerns. The office was clean as well! Dr. Lamel gave me a realistic timeline of the procedure and I felt that she was in no rush to get me out of her office. Although it is only my first appointment, I am excited to go back. 5 stars and highly recommend to anyone seeking dermatology/cosmetic services! read more

I have to say, while I love Jennifer and the work she does... I go for Botox so nothing too intense but... It is insane the way they run this business. Nobody answers your calls. You sit on hold for days.....Nobody calls you back. They say you could book online, but you really can't. Just really a shame that they don't have better office skills. read more

Dr. Reichel and her team, Sade & Vida are the BEST! I had my eyelids done after years of wanting to do it, but her photos on RealSelf convinced me that she is an expert - and she was! I chose to come here for a fraxel treatment. Fraxel can be an uncomfortable procedure and honestly I was a little apprehensive. However, Dr. Reichel and her staff made the experience as positive as possible. First, I had a difficult work schedule that they accommodated. The day of my procedure, I was given numbing gel and the opportunity to use laughing gas. During the treatment, Dr. Reichel used a technique of tapping on my forehead. This tapping made me focus less on the fraxel. Overall, I thought this was a positive experience for a not easy procedure. The kindness and care made it bearable. I'm already seeing great results two days out. Plus, I had a few sun carcinoma spots on my neck, that they treated with no additional charge. Very pleased with my experience here and how I was treated. read more

Went to dr Jennifer Reichel- I usually see another doctor, Dr Lamel at this practice who is really good and very caring. I saw Reichel for Mohls surgery- it was a total mess. The first pass she hit a nerve and the lidocaine did nothing for the pain- it then had to be cauterized while I waited for lab results in pain- twice more there was found more cancer and twice more it was cauterized while I could feel everything (think root canal with no pain med) - For almost 4 hours this went on- by the last of it I was shaking and very light headed- this 'simple' procedure turned into a total mess. I had driven myself there and had to call my partner to come and get me- by the time I got to the car I was in uncontrolled shaking. The doctor then 'forgot' to call in the pain meds- took another 2 hours to get anything. Then 3 days later, I'm still in a hellva lot of pain, I'm outta meds and I call asking for some lidocaine cream or more meds as my head was throbbing- I was told by a nurse to take some Tyenol and basically good luck, (we don't believe your in pain basically). It took a full week for the pulsing throbbing to stop, I had to seek care elsewhere to get meds to through it. I wrote this doc a letter telling her the failures to care for a client- she called and began lecturing me, just talked over me repeatedly, saying she's done thousands of these (it is a factory practice for her) and no one was ever in pain for a week- Well I was- No way in hell would I ever recommend this doctor- she is a right fighter and I have no idea at all why she even called me to lecture me on how good she is, ego is all I can think of- my experience was sure not remotely 'good'- avoid! read more

Just like what other people have said regarding this office, just watch out with their billing. I went in for a monthly injection for my allopecia. I typically pay for the injection together with the injected meds. That's typically around $160. I'm in an out of the office within 10 mins. This time I got an additional $330 claim against my insurance for a "long office visit". When I first called billing, they said it was because I haven't had an office visit since 2020. How can you say that when I am there every month? The next time I called, they said it was for medication management and prescriptions. I don't have any other prescriptions. I didn't come in for any new consultation either. I asked why is it marked as a "long office visit", and they said it's just how it's encoded. If there's a "long" visit, then there has to be a different encoding for a much quicker visit. $330 seems to be excessive for a service that from my perspective was non-existent. read more

Finding a new doctor is never easy but you can stop looking now and just book an appointment. The office staff is world class and will make you feel at home the minute that you walk through the door. It was quick for me to get in and I always appreciate not having to wait a long time. I had Botox done and it was my first time so I wasn't sure what to expect but they did a good job of making it seamless and stress-free. I can already see the results and feel like it was well worth it for the price! I wouldn't hesitate to come back to them again and would feel confident anybody would have a great experience. Dr. Andrea's pretty good - a little too busy during our last appt but she does seem to care and I liked how soothing she is. On the other hand, the doctor's office support (billing, receptionist, etc.) staff is SO bad. I've had medication sent to the wrong store, always a 50/50 shot when I call in I'll be hung up on before I speak to anyone live or when I'm dealing with the answering machine it will cut out and hang up on me. I leave my number for call back, 50/50 shot they don't call me back ever so press them. They don't last until 5PM so call earlier. If they do call me back, it's an entire 24hrs later. I ask for medical records, they take the information down, and then it takes them a day to call me back and go "oh we're sorry but we don't do that." On and on with a dozen small pesky admin errors that just leaves me so confused with admin/support staff/front of house. I will be going somewhere else. Inside the office, all the ladies are lovely and polite. Wee bit disorganized, but sweet and friendly. read more

First visit I waited almost an hour and spent 5 mins with a Dr. Second visit they told me there was a schedulng mistake but that they could squeeze me in. I waited 40 mins before leaving without seeing a Dr. Staff is polite. Clinic schedule is unreliable. Doctors seem rushed. Will not be returning, would not recommend. read more

DO NOT GO HERE AND THIS IS WHY: I had a suspicious growth which turned out to be a dermatic fibroma, the first two visits were very pleasant actually, the staff were friendly and professional. I choose to have it removed and I was warned that by removing it there could possibly be more scar tissue. The removal went fine. The stitch job I thought was a little messy but hey I didn't go to medical school so who am I to complain. Fast forward to 2 weeks later. I come in to have the stitches removed. The blonde condescending woman informed me that she was in surgery and made me feel like I was interrupting her precious time; I don't know why since I did not schedule this appointment their receptionist did. I asked if the stitches should be removed because it did not look to me as if the area had healed. The woman removing them shrugged my concerns off, did not address them, and rushed taking them out. She then applied glue and steri strips which she covered with a band aid. I was told not to attend to this area of my leg. I am an adult, I am not about to play with my suture but thanks for the reminder. (Asshole) I go to sleep and wake up with blood stains in my bed and on my pyjama pants. So I call the office because I can feel a 4 mm concave hole underneath these damn steri strips and there was blood every where. I am advised to come in, so I do. The woman who removed my stitches treats me like an inconvenience even though I just saw her the day before. She exclaims she has never seen a wound do this, and I should really not touch it. Rude, I know! It's not like I was digging for truffles in the damn thing I was sleeping. That's right, asleep. So you mean to tell me, you removed stitches even though I showed concern that the area was not properly healed; then you glued steri strips on the area to cover your ass; then the wound broke open and bled during the night while I was sleeping and somehow this has now turned into my fault? Lady you removed my stitches too early and now I have to deal with the consequences, then you were rude to me, and blamed me for the wound opening up while I was SLEEPING. AND next time if you don't have the precious 5 minutes to spare to look at the mess you made, you can advise me to go elsewhere. Never been treated this rudely by a "professional" before. Now mind you this is all while she is doing exactly what she told me not to do, probing the area, squeezing it together, poking at me even though it is clearly painful since there is A BLOODY OPEN WOUND UNDERNEATH THESE STRIPS. Trust me I am not at home just pulling this sucker apart to make both our lives harder. I won't be going back here EVER. I won't be recommending this place to anyone EVER. If you are reading this, DO NOT GO HERE. To their credit the office staff asked if I wanted to make a complaint, no I don't want to make a complaint, I never want to step into your office again, and I won't. I will be getting a second opinion from a professional who doesn't treat me like an inconvenience. And thank you to the jackass who ruined my sheets and pyjamas. My husband bought me those, from Alaska. Pretty expensive to get them replaced. What really grinds my gears, if she was like, "I must have removed them to early, let's just see how this heals from here on out." I would have been fine with that. Shit happens. About three years ago Dr. Reichel injected Radiesse under my eyes. I had never had an injection there and was nervous about doing so. With absolutely no discussion about the filler options available, the doctor injected Radiesse. The result was horrible! When the swelling subsided I noticed pockets of fluid below my eyes. These pockets have never fully gone away. As I now understand, if the right filler is used, it can be removed/reduced with Hylenex, but this does not work with Radiesse. I continue to look worse than I did before the injection. When I returned to the doctor to discuss, she took no responsibility for this what so ever. She took no steps to fix the issue and refused to give me even a partial refund. I would never visit this office again and I suggest that you don't do so either. Real amateurs! read more

I have to totally disagree with the other reviewers about this practice. This is my 4th dermatologist I've been to, but my first in Seattle. I mention this as I've had my fair share of dermatologist experiences. My first, I didn't like, the 2nd was completely awesome and excised a mole, and the 3rd lasered a mole off, and now this being my 4th. I have several problems with this practice. 1) There's a huge scar where my mole was excised. I believe the doctor kept the stitches in too long, thereby now I have a huge scar. Fortunately, this mole was on my shoulder where no one can really see it. 2) Their billing department sucks! Of the other two dermatologists that I've visited, they charged me only my office fee, despite having moles excised and lasered. This doctor bills the office visit as one charge, the excise as another charge, and then out-sources the biopsy for a 3rd charge. Therefore, if the biopsy is not within network, the total for excising a tiny mole cost me around $100. My other dermatologists charged me $15 and did a better job. I won't be going back here again. If you do get a mole excised, make sure you're clear on their billing procedures. read more

However,Being a new patient in this institution -the Lack of communication in advance about their policies ( specifically consultation fees) left us confused and we left with a bad feeling and poor experience. We ended up being there a lot longer than we wanted to and our questions weren't answered as well. They can do better. read more

Dr Lamel has completely disregarded me as a patient, and it is to the point of total neglect. I am a nurse and a future NP and would never treat my patients in this manner. I need a simple medication request that has now been unfilled for almost 14 days--despite my pharmacy repeatedly sending it through to the office system and it being "received" in the system. I have called the office daily leaving voicemails to the medical assistant and front desk, with zero reply or follow up. I am now back to my original state of skin health before I received care from Dr. Lamel and the medication. Being back to square one after months of treatment is extremely frustrating and all because I am being completely ignored from my provider. This is very disappointing, neglectful, and irresponsible care and I would not recommend this office to anyone who needs dermatological help. read more

I follow Dr Linnel for routine full body skin check up and recently completed a series of laser hair removal. She works out of the Renton and Seattle offices and I have had the pleasure of trying out both places. The seattle clinic is conveniently located on the westside of I-5 near the northgate mall exit. Easy to find and get to off the freeway. The office is located in the Polyclinc building with a free parking lot for customers. This is one of the downsides to this clinic. The very small small small parking spaces for vehicles making it a tight squeeze, but doable. Staff are pleasant and helpful. The interior of the clinic is also small but does the job. The laser for hair removeable is a lot less painful than the renton clinic. One reason, I have made more appts here than Renton. I would definitely recommend Dr Linnel and her MA for any skin needs. She is very pleasant, helpful and informative! read more

Just want to reiterate how helpful Sue was in being the one to actual recommend my first treatment. I would have never guessed I needed the BBL treatment for redness and dark spots. It's been about a month since that treatment with Cheryl and I still notice the difference it made in the redness of my skin. I don't think this place is in business, I have asked multiple times about my prescription for the past 8 months, and no one seems to care or follow up. Today I received a bill in the amount of $400 dollars. and I was wondering if I should pay this bill because I didn't receive any care from this facility. I had CO2 laser with Dr. Reichel. She and her staff are fantastic and very helpful. They were really responsive when I had a question about after care. I am a little over 3 weeks out and still a tad red in spots but that is to be expected and I can cover it with makeup. My skin looks better each week. I attend "Evening of Beauty" twice a year at Pacific Dermatology which is such a fun evening of champagne & appetizers. I am always satisfied with the services I receive from Dr Reichel. She is thorough, and takes time each visit to evaluate my skin and address my concerns. I always leave happy and am even happier when the Botox kicks in! Thank you for a great experience! Like others have said, the bedside manner at this place needs a check-up. Went it to have my ezcema examined, and the office assistant that handled the pre-check up seemed angry and annoyed the minute she walked in the door. I've spoken to her once on the phone, and again, she seemed like she had better things to do than talk to a patient. It's too bad, since Stacey Lynema correctly diagnosed my condition and prescribed medications that did help. But I won't be going back here. Updating my review to go down to 1 star. This office is so disorganized, I've now received the same bill 3 times. I begrudgingly paid the bill twice (because they somehow "couldn't find the record" that I'd paid the first time), and now, nearly 9 months later, just received this bill for a 3rd time. What the hell? After waiting between 30-45 minutes or more past my appointment times every time I came in, and now getting notices to pay bills several times after they're already paid, there's absolutely no way I would go back. I work at a hospital so even if they did send any sort of reminder text i wouldn't have gotten it cuz of my lack of service. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask the doctor if she could make an exception, but of course it was a quick no. I mean i get it i Work in health care it's annoying when people are late or have a no show, but accidents really do happen! Honestly I'm little bummed out because Despite the reviews I really wanted to try this place because of her specialization in dark circles! And if you love helping people feel good about themselves then shouldn't you as a doctor want to help at any cost? (W/ in reason of course) Anyways - i should've known better because most of the reviews talk about horrible bedside manner. Just wished there could've been some sort of solution. read more

I chose this center based on Dr Reichel's reputation. Over several years, I never saw a doctor, just PAs and trainees. Every prescription refill took multiple calls. They doubled billed on multiple occasions and I saw minimal improvements with most of their suggestions. read more

Have gone to the clinic twice. Both times there was not any follow up to any of the tests. I gave them a second chance that was for an annual skin check. Asked about the previous skin issue on my lip, and they said they would get more information. I was also perscribed a cream for a skin issue. It has now been over 2 months with no follow up. A perscription was never called in and after talking to the office manager, I was promissed that she would look into it. Still no diagnosis or perscription. I have left three messages for the office manager, with no return call. I would be very concerned if I had any significant issues to trust my care to Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic. The only thing they did promptly was to bill me. read more
