While visiting Fayetteville for the Good Old Summertime…read moreBicycle Classic the first weekend in June, my husband and I wanted to take in some local flavors! This was a delightful stop. The atmosphere was very country which we loved since we both grew up on a farm. Adorable cottages on the property that are available to rent through Airbnb I believe. The tasting room was in the barn. The friendly vintners were happy to help us make our selections. I selected 3 white and 2 red. I preferred the reds but may have appreciated the whites more if they had been served chilled (my taste preference) however all were room temperature. We enjoyed them outside amongst the feathered friends featuring all sorts of chickens, roosters and Guineas. Now the wine is not Napa quality so don't expect that but it is potable. The experience and environment is what makes it worth the stop to try something a little different.

They also had mules and alpacas... but they were definitely on "do not disturb" mode. Wine tasting was 5 for $15, and I appreciated how detailed their menu was. It actually made choosing feel less like a guessing game. Bonus: you can mix it up with frozen drinks too, and honestly, everything we tried had great flavor. Food check: Charcuterie board was good, just wish it had a little more protein (felt a little light on the meats). Pizza though? Crispy, tasty, and did exactly what it needed to do alongside the wine Overall, such a sweet, laid-back experience. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the mood for wine, vibes, and a little farm energy.

Decided to be a day tripper on Saturday as it was a beautiful day for a drive…read more Friends had told us about stopping at Sixth Street Bourbon on their way to Austin while traveling on 290 Hwy. Lots of free parking available. Entered the place and we were greeted by a smiling employee and some water! This place is a great secret to exploring. They have 4 different bourbons that they give you FREE samples. And they have several others that they only charge $3.00 per sample. Husband & I each had a taste of the 4 year & the 6 year which was a great way to become familiar with their bourbon. We then decided to order some drinks. Husband had Smoked Bourbon (rocks glass) which is;2oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1 oz Vanilla Liqueur, Mesquite-Smoked Ice Cube, Cinnamon Stick( so they smoke the ice cube) this was a great drink. I had Old Fashioned (rocks glass) 2 oz Sixth Street Bourbon, 1/2 oz Simple Syrup, Angustura Bitters, Orange Twist, "Filthy" Cherry. It's an Old Fashioned which is always good. This place is small town charm with a 'Cheers' feel. I highly recommend that you go here. If traveling on 71 or 10 or 290 make the stop and hang out with some great people and drink some great bourbon. ...You MUST try the Rock and Rye as it's like Fall in a shot glass, but you need to sip it and enjoy it. Your Welcome!!

He gave me tips on how to take in more of the flavors while sampling. Overall I would recommend this business. The bottles are very nice. With Christmas nearing they would make great gifts. Stop by on your way through and check them out.
