The small facility, unmarked, is located in a very industrial area of S. Austin, with just enough room for crafting small batches of gin. I love being around people who are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft and Charles, our guide and one of the owners, exudes it. Maybe it's the gin he's pumping into me, but I found Charles to be the kind of person you want to be friends with, smart and charismatic. Although the location does not have central air, they do have a portable air conditioning unit in the tasting area so it was quite pleasant, even on a hot summer afternoon. The tour is about 1 hour, and in that 1 hour, we got educated in the process, quizzed on our ability to identify some of the aromatics used to make the gin, asked questions, had a cocktail and three tastings, while never feeling rushed. Their gin is different, less heavy on juniper. I'm in love with the complexity of the Navy gin and look forward to creating a few cocktails with it. They are also doing an oaked sipping gin. It's Sunday, (liquor stores are closed) we were attending the Lickskillet celebration. My husband pulls his truck and flatbed trailer (had finished pulling a float in the celebration parade) in the parking area of the liquor store closes to the highway. It was announced, over the band's microphone for the owner of the "truck and trailer" to move their vehicle. No problem, it's ours and I was not sure where my husband was. We were waiting to load the 7 bales of hay we had just purchased in the Lickskillet celebration auction! The owner of the liquor store was asked "when do you want it moved"? His reply in a very hostile manner, in front of maybe 25 folks in attendance of the celebration, was "RIGHT NOW"! The owner of the liquor store told my husband, as they became in contact, "get off my property, NOW"! There were words, apparently, I was as not there but can imagine, judging by the owner's demeanor that ended in FUCK YOU MAN! Appears we really inconvenienced this liquor store owner, on a small town Safternoon!!!! We will no longer do business with this establishment and encourage all others to go to the next town to buy your liquor!!

That is absolutely not the case; I have experienced excellent customer service, and they have excellent prices. A man that I affectionately refer to as Mr. G is always in the store. I'm not certain if he's the owner or an associate, but he has a fantastic personality. I don't always need to go to the liquor store, but when I do it will certainly be this one.
