The worst thing about flying Frontier would be Frontier customers. Awful people. At this point I don't know how anyone could be surprised by the charges, it's all very clear on their website. They charge for everything, but hey, that's how they have the lowest fares. Not rocket surgery. So you beat them at their game, try to travel with just one 49 lb checked bag and a small case for your computer and tablet to carry on, wait to be the last to board, bring your own snacks and beverage, take the random seat they assign. Expect a few minutes delay on every flight... and don't bitch and moan about it, it's not going to make anything any better. Because this is the cheapest airline in both senses of that word, Frontier flights are full of barking little dogs, crying babies, screaming children and lots of bacteria and viruses. As a result of the constant exposure to the typical Frontier customers, a lot of the flight and ground crew are or end up in bad moods. The second worst thing about flying Frontier is that the tiny little seats all crammed together is cruelty bordering on torture. It's not as bad as waterboarding or electric shocks to the genitals but it's bad enough that by the end of a direct flight from MKE to SAN I would have divulged any and all scientific secrets I know to any evil foreign enemy. There are three redeeming qualities to Frontier, they fly direct between a lot of cities that other airlines only connect to via busy hubs. The second is that the fares really are cheap, often much cheaper even including paying for a checked bag and buying some clothes at your destination (and discarding some clothes worn for the last time, gotta stick to just one checked bag to make the deal work). The third positive about Frontier is that in spite of having to deal with the typical Frontier customers all day, I have never seen a Frontier worker stab anyone which is just downright amazing. They must have some serious self control training or they are on some seriously effective drugs.

Toya who checks Tickets at Gate 20 at Mc Carran Airport is an unfriendly Ticket Agent.. 60.00 for a Small bag that she said has to go under seat. Well Toya the bag fit under seat. 60.00 for a bag my friend had that was smaller then my bag was a ridiculous Charge You need to learn Customer Service That bag was Small it Fit under seat. Do you like Gouging older ladies out of there money The Bag Fit under Seat End Of Story. It fit the Guidelines The bag made it past the Chicago Check in it surely should of made it through the Vegas Check In. You decided you were in your mood and you wanted to charge her that baggage fee. The Bag was smaller then mine just because I had the handle raised you treated it like it was a carry on.

Frontier closed. All others open.

Worst.Airline.Ever. Useless technology- pt.1 There are kiosks...but are useless with no staff there. Will not print boarding passes without an agent there...what's the point?! What this means is...if you get an early, or late flight and you roll in less than 45 min from flight...you are screwed. You will not board your flight. Frontier is the only airline that I've experienced that doesn't have a kiosk to print out passes. Useless technology- pt. 2 Online early check-in...but no e-boarding pass? Useless and also in the long run completely ignoring environmental waste and thumbing their noses at other airlines. Customer Service- you know those movies where staff look at you, smile, and walk away knowing that they can help you but..nah why bother? I experienced that today (Thanksgiving) as they looked at me, walked away, under their breath citing "policy is 45 min". Missed flight despite best efforts.... But hey, at least Frontier Airlines is consistent.

Flight crew in flight cell phone use

First, trip to Miami: Great Crew, prepared, welcoming, helpful, professional, great flight. Wednesday, February 28 7:00am . However, tonight's return flight from Miami to Milwaukee: Frontier airlines: flight crew attendants poor. Not prepared for boarding - not welcoming - it was an Evening flight, left overhead light on high in bay full flight, poor lady placed coat over head to sleep, the crew was so loud! dropping items, talking socially. Male attendant took out a book and sat almost immediately. The crew made faces when guest spoke to them, and talked about guest inappropriately with each other. guest asked about snacks and told they did not have any, however front staff was eating cheese and crackers the full flight. male attendant laid upper body on cart while pilot used rest room and continued strolled out to talk with female crew member. Not only did the male attendant read, the female attendant spent time on her cell phone. Final straw was when they took out garage bags and was making balloons with them and popping them. This was just the most obnoxious, unprofessional crew I have seen when traveling. I have to say the shorter male attendant was in the back of the plane and much more professional versus the two female and other male. On a final note when we landed one of the female the flight attendants was so disorganized she could not even tell us the correct time, and asked for assistance as to what gate Luggage would be at, just giggling! While waiting for luggage other passengers expressed they would be writing, calling and blogging over the experience. The flight left Miami at 830pm, Sunday, March 4th.

I had both a personal item as well as a carry-on; no one sized my bags when boarding (both items looked normal).

Allegiant Air - From Punta Gorda

Allegiant Air

Let's face it -- commercial air travel has become one of the most unpleasant things you can pay to…read moreexperience. But IMHO Allegiant has taken that misery to a new low. We got hooked into Allegiant when we lived in southern Oregon, and they were about the only airline flying full-sized jets of out airports other than PDX. Oh, sure, Allegiant has had high numbers of emergency landings and aborted takeoffs, and they have operated second, third, or even fourth hand aircraft. But they've apparently recently switched to new(er?) Airbus planes. And the FAA keeps them in line safety-wise, right? Right? Anyhow, a series of failed trips had left us with Allegiant vouchers that wanted burning up. So when we needed a flight out of MKE to a city served by Allegiant, we decided to use them. So far, so good. The main current annoyance involves Allegiant's pricing. The initial airfare tickets quoted online seem appealing. But by the time you add lots of money for carry-on and checked baggage, charges for assigned seats, charges for charges, etc. ... well, it all adds up. A LOT. One of the most annoying charges is for "Trip Flex" which is supposed to buy you out of penalties if you have to cancel. Of course, all you get is a voucher that expires in one year from the booking (NOT flight) date, not a refund. Also, buried in the confusing terms of Trip Flex is a note that if you cancel, you still lose "carrier charges" and "related booking fees." For a recent cancellation of a round-trip for two, that amount to $18 x 4 for a $72 loss. Which is more than the quoted initial airfare! After sitting on the phone for nearly 40 minutes to ask an agent about the possibility of getting a refund of the "carrier charges" because of our concerns about traveling during a period of compromised security due to the government shutdown ... haha ... I was told we could have avoided the "carrier charges" by booking in-person at the airport. Of course, she continued, their agents are only at MKE during scheduled flight times. And those agents are swamped dealing with people trying to check in for their flight. So ...

Interesting to see all of the low ratings for United here…read more This review is specifically for my experience with United Airlines AT General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) - NOT experiences with United in general at other Airports. I always check my bag - I'm tired of all of the self important travelers who insist on dragging every piece of junk they own on the plane with them. I can't begin to count the number of times that a flight I was on was delayed leaving the gate due to - to many travelers insisting on attempting to drag all of their suitcases on board - and then the fire drill of having to take their bags to the front of the plane to have them removed and loaded into the cargo hold. So as usual - I checked my bag at the United ticket counter at MKE - using the automated kiosk. I had already checked in for my flight the day before using the United app. I had to wait zero time - as soon as I had completed the kiosk transaction - the United agent was on top of things to verify my identity, tag my bag - and they directed me to the correct Gate area. At the gate area, boarding was no problem. The gate agent was proactive and on top of things. We were flying on a CRJ200 to Chicago O'Hare - a relatively short flight (wheels up to wheels down time = 17 minutes).

I really believe I am not cut out for flying in today's times. You pay an arm and a leg to get…read morefrom point A to point B, so that you can deal with traffic, strip down to practically nothing and be molested by TSA, scrutinized about your bag, wait for a never on time plane in a waiting area with limited seating, not enough plugs to charge your phone...All so you can be crammed in like sardines into a flying tin can! WTH are we as consumers thinking, that it's ok for them to continue to shrink the amount of seat space?! I mean seriously you can't even walk into your seat aisle anymore! You gotta hold on to the seat ahead of you while doing a weird side step to get in and out. And if you take the window..you better have a bladder of steel, cuz asking everyone to get up is a chore. And assuming you're on the aisle, you still need to make a mental eye note to surrounding people that you are "next in line" in the line you are not able to form at anytime. And if you did get to the bathroom, god help you. Cuz they've even figured a way to make that smaller! The whole "Fly the Friendly Skies" is so 1950! There's nothing friendly about flying anymore. ESPECIALLY WITH UNITED.

I FOUND MYSELF ALONE AND STUCK IN THE PARKING LOT AS MIDNIGHT WAS APPROACHING, when the self-serve kiosk could not read my ticket. I tried repeatedly, then pressed the help button, and finally called the phone number that connected me to the shuttle driver, who was currently at the airport. The shuttle driver came back to the parking lot, could not resolve the issue, and therefore called the boss. The boss walked over from another building. Once he was assisting me, the shuttle driver left. The boss had to fiddle with the machine. He then eventually ask for my credit card so he could go inside the little building to make the transaction. I felt uncomfortable giving him my credit card, and asked about being charged for an extra day now that it was past midnight. The boss said that it should be okay and that if I would be overcharged, they would reimburse me. I then had to back up and exit a particular lane where the boss could raise the barricade. I have tried to reach the company to report my experience. I have not heard back, after emailing them. I also called the phone number listed, that connected me with a shuttle driver, who took my phone number and said he would pass it along to the boss, requesting that the boss call me.
