If you can crunch the math, often times Frontier will be cheaper than flying on other airlines. I'm seeing other reviewers scream bloody murder for charges on this and that....c'mon, read the site. Or just skip to a big airline and pay for another flight that's "all inclusive" but also happens to cost 2x or 3x more. Customer service was quite friendly, both at the gate as well as on the plane. To be frank, I was a little surprised since I typically expect low cost carriers to lack on customer service. Flight departed and arrived to destination on time. Plane was clean and yep, they have those seats that look like modified ironing boards. Legroom is manageable (I'm average height) though the seats tend to get uncomfortable one you hit the 2+ hour flight time. Don't think there's much cushion in the cushion. The under-seat storage area seems to be less deep than other carriers as I noticed my backpack stuck out more than usual. I had both a personal item as well as a carry-on; no one sized my bags when boarding (both items looked normal). Overall, I had a pleasant flight on this route with Frontier. If the price is right, I'll gladly fly again.

We got hooked into Allegiant when we lived in southern Oregon, and they were about the only airline flying full-sized jets of out airports other than PDX. Oh, sure, Allegiant has had high numbers of emergency landings and aborted takeoffs, and they have operated second, third, or even fourth hand aircraft. But they've apparently recently switched to new(er?) Airbus planes. And the FAA keeps them in line safety-wise, right? Right? Anyhow, a series of failed trips had left us with Allegiant vouchers that wanted burning up. So when we needed a flight out of MKE to a city served by Allegiant, we decided to use them. So far, so good. The main current annoyance involves Allegiant's pricing. The initial airfare tickets quoted online seem appealing. But by the time you add lots of money for carry-on and checked baggage, charges for assigned seats, charges for charges, etc. ... well, it all adds up. A LOT. One of the most annoying charges is for "Trip Flex" which is supposed to buy you out of penalties if you have to cancel. Of course, all you get is a voucher that expires in one year from the booking (NOT flight) date, not a refund. Also, buried in the confusing terms of Trip Flex is a note that if you cancel, you still lose "carrier charges" and "related booking fees." For a recent cancellation of a round-trip for two, that amount to $18 x 4 for a $72 loss. Which is more than the quoted initial airfare! After sitting on the phone for nearly 40 minutes to ask an agent about the possibility of getting a refund of the "carrier charges" because of our concerns about traveling during a period of compromised security due to the government shutdown ... haha ... I was told we could have avoided the "carrier charges" by booking in-person at the airport. Of course, she continued, their agents are only at MKE during scheduled flight times. And those agents are swamped dealing with people trying to check in for their flight. So ...

A special mention for Paul at MSP Terminal 1, who met my calm concerns with a level of sass that deserves its own frequent flyer program. Customer service is supposed to de-escalate - you escalated. With flair. Two stars for the sheer reliability of the unreliability -- minus the rest for Paul, the delays, and the audacity of the word "premium." I'll fly them again, of course. Not by choice. I've just lost all faith that any other outcome exists.

And I can hop on the 80 Milwaukee County bus so I save a lot of money on the before and after plane transportation. My bag survived being loaded out with my CPAP in it (I packed well too though). The flight was pretty smooth, the flight attendants were highly competent and respectful, there weren't any sick people around me, lots of room in the overhead compartments, and most importantly, I got a cup of good hot coffee in the middle of the flight. Upon entry, they'll write down your license plate number and get your flight information so they know when the shuttle needs to pick you up. Once I accidentally gave them the wrong flight number, and I received a call from them the day of my return flight asking when I was coming so that they could make sure they had a shuttle waiting for me! Once you park your car, a shuttle will pull right up to where you parked and take you to the airport entrance. They give you a card with how to contact the company if for some reason, there isn't a shuttle waiting for you. I've arrived various times, from 7 AM to midnight, and a shuttle is usually always there, or if there isn't and I have to call, one arrives in a few minutes. They charge $7 for every 24 hours. The place isn't the fanciest, but my car has always been safe there, it definitely gets the job done, and the price is very reasonable, especially for the location.
