Pretty & comfortable waiting area at the front & a pickup lane for cars coming to get passengers -this can get a bit congested so it's best to have good communication with someone coming to get you when your train is about to arrive. The staff on site are pretty polite & the workers at the track are very "go, go, go!", as you can imagine. There isn't a lot of time wasted when your train stops & you need to get off fast, which can be tricky sometimes on a double decker train! It's a little odd getting off of the train onto the street, as it requires going up an escalator, walking over the trains & then taking an escalator (or stairs) back down again. I'd also consider it a pretty child-friendly station, as it's not as gigantic as Union Station in Chicago. Also a stop for the Megabus, which partners with Amtrak regionally, which does a lot of trips to Madison or Chicago. I've used the Megabus before & while it's okay, there's no replacing the comfort & views via train. The fare is actually comparable. Excellent & affordable way to travel between Chicago and Milwaukee, via the comfy Hiawatha train. I used to do it every weekend in college. It also has been serving me great taking the Empire Builder or Borealis train from the Wisconsin Dells station to Milwaukee for a decent price, as long as you book it in advance you can get a good deal!

Best advise unless you have lots of money to waste, just park in the terminal garage for $10 a day compared to $8....time is with lots more than saving $2

Trains are usually right on time here, and there's always parking ($8), expect a short wait to enter and exit the parking lot. You should note that if you're trying to connect to AMTRAK from MKE airport, it's too far to walk with luggage and there's no sidewalk most of the way, you'll need to take a shuttle bus. If you are arriving at the airport and want to get to a downtown hotel, take the 80 bus from just outside baggage claim. For traveling back and forth from Chicago, the Hiawatha is the way to go if the schedule works for you. Parking is a little easier here than downtown Milwaukee.

When we arrived at the lot I showed my parking receipt to the lot attendant who then took a photo of my license plate. When we returned to the car I found a $55 parking citation on my windshield for failure to pay. I contested the citation but was told they "couldn't void it" but would lower the fine to $20 "as a courtesy". I paid it because I figured it wasn't worth fighting. I later spoke to a Milwaukee Police Officer who told me this company is known for pulling these stunts. Live and learn. I'll never park with them again.
