What a great pizza they make. Its absolute perfection for a pie as they say. Got the Meat Lovers and Veggie Lovers and both were pizza heaven. Not the thin crust with no flavor , their crust is perfection for texture with a slight crunch on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Just the right amount of sauce cheese and toppings too. We stopped by for lunch this weekend. The girl at the counter was somewhat friendly and reasonably helpful, although when I asked what dressings they had for their salads, she told me "the usual." So I had to guess...! We got our order to go. My son had a BLT sub. He said it was fine - not great but it got the job done; he wouldn't order it again. I had their steak salad. The "salad" was a big pile of iceberg lettuce, 2 cuke slices, 2 cherry tomatoes, and 2 slices of red onion. Meh. I felt about the salad the way my son felt about the BLT sub. The steak that topped the salad was over-done (not a huge deal as I prefer my steak on the medium-well side, but this was well-done) and did not taste fresh at all. I doused it in salad dressing to mask the taste and ate only 2 of the steak tips before giving up. We also each ordered a slice of pizza. It was just okay. The crust was soft until the wide end of the slice and it tasted, to me, like pita bread. I didn't care for it. As with everything else we ordered, it was "meh" and we probably wouldn't order it again. I do have to say that, despite the restaurant being full, we received our take-out order in about 5 minutes which was a nice surprise. read more

BEST PIZZA IN SOUTHERN NH - bar none. Not a great dining experience, if you happen to be a foodie; not a stylish interior, not a quiet ambiance, not equipped with attractive mood lighting, but this is a pizza parlor - and one of the best in which this diner has ever eaten. Seriously - I would drive a couple of hours to eat their pizza. They have the best pizza crust I have had anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon, and they don't skimp on the toppings. If you're looking for a really great pizza in a clean, comfortable pizza parlor, this is the place. If you're looking for fine dining, ambiance, a wait staff in tuxedos, this is not your jeroboam of grand cru. Wow ! Front Row is such a treat. The smell when you walk in is heavenly. They're reliably excellent. We've been eating here regularly for ten years and the atmosphere is family friendly but fun for you g people. The service is always good. The food is very very good. The menu is broad and has something for everyone. We love the pizza, the chicken tenders and fried shrimp the best as well as excellent steak n cheese. I've gotten the chicken tenders, which are cutlets, and brought them home as a base for chicken Parmesan when I had guests coming for dinner. Front Row also does a lot for the community and is a wonderful addition to Exeter. read more

This place always makes us sick which is sad because the food is delicious. I'm not sure if it's a cross contamination issue or a lack of cleaning care. Only dined in once but usually get take out. If this was another visit, I would give this at least 4 stars, but this time it wasn't the place, it was the waitress. I don't know her name so we'll call her Linda. Linda was new at her job, and you could tell. First off, she didn't even write down some of the things my family and I ordered. I'm a vegetarian so I went with buttered noodles, I asked for their spaghetti. Linda said this was something from the kids menu and I was fine with that, I just asked for no meatballs. She took a very long time to get just the appetizers to us, and an even longer time for the main meals. When she finally came with the food, my noodles were not spaghetti and there were meatballs on top. She asked if that was ok so I said no. She then told me she would go "take them off" so I had to go ask for just a new plate. I had also mentioned that I ordered spaghetti, but even the second time it was different noodles. That was ok though, and I just had that even though it wasn't what I ordered. If you go here, I suggest you ask for the waiter/waitresses name first. read more

Front Row has been a long time favorite pizza place of mine but I have recently become disillusioned with the prices and quality. One recent visit where I ate IN the restaurant my buffalo chicken sub was soggy. How could this be when I ate in the restaurant? Last night, I had the best experience ever, @ Front Row. I've lived in the area for many years--- aside from the cold, fresh salad & the delicious, piping hot pizza pie... the service I received from a server named Valerie was top notch. She was on point from the second we sat , until the moment we left. She was Uber professional, pleasant, extremely attentive, without being intrusive... I waited tables for many years, and I'm rarely impressed, with waitstaff. She hit a grand slam. She went above & beyond, and exceeded all+ any experiences that I've had in a long time, at any dining venue. I travel all the time for work, unfortunately eat out a lot, and Valerie should be commended. She turned having a casual dinner @ Front Row, into a Four Seasons type service.... KUDOS!!!! read more

I had lunch here recently while visiting Exeter and hearing about their "white pizza" which was a pizza with a pile of different cheeses. Since I went with a group of guys we ordered a few different pizzas to try. The white pizza was good but the chicken bbq pizza was better. I had a caesar salad also but it really didn't have any of the zesty flavor notes of what a caesar should have so I would skip this next time. read more

By far the best Pizza we've tried in New England! I love the light tender crust and the Buffalo Chicken pizza Rocks!!! My son s the steak tips and it's usually a three meal entree for us. The best restaurant recommendations (other than from YELP!, of course), come from trusted friends who have been there. In this case, a very dear friend suggested to me that I try the pizza at Front Row. Located at the end of a strip mall, FR has plenty of parking. Much of it is used, as this is a very popular place with the locals, and is just down the road from Philips Exeter Academy. The crust of the pizza is moderately thin and holds up well - not soggy. It has a nice chewy texture and a solid crunch - just right! Sauce is hard for a pizzeria to choose; it has to be a delicate balance between spicy and mellow, or the restaurant will only appeal to folks who like spicy, or folks who like mild. FR has a sauce that will appeal to nearly everyone. The real cheese used at FR is generously applied. All the usual toppings are available. Bottom Line: There is no better pizza to be found in NH. read more

When we first moved to Exeter we would go to restaurants around and wonder why they were half empty. Then we found the Front Row and we realized this was where most of the population was eating. And we could see why. Obviously they do pizzas and they are excellent. But the menu is sufficiently varied to find plenty of alternatives. We ordered over 140$ worth of food and one of the salads was doused with dressing when it should have been on the side and the manager argued saying it was not there fault so why should they have to send something out for free. Last night I had dinner at Front Row Pizzeria in Exeter. The place was packed, being St. Patrick's day. I was seated in the bar (at my request) since I was alone and didn't want to take a 4 top. I was impressed that even on a day known for rowdiness, the atmosphere was still family friendly. Lots of laughter and various games on multiple TVs, but very friendly and comfortable. There was a mix of people from families with kids, twenty-something guys watching March Madness, couples and seniors. I particularly liked that the owner was walking around checking that his customers were happy. The wine list isn't extensive but I was able to fine a decent Chardonney. I like that I could get a 9oz pour on wine which works out good for me, since 6 isn't quite enough and 2 glasses is usually more than I want. They also have a large menu of draft beers that looked interesting. I had an amazing plate of steak tips and rice pilaf!!! They were cooked perfectly and very tender, unlike the last 2 times I was at certain well known restaurant in Raymond, NH. I spied several fantastic looking (and smelling) pizzas at other tables so I'll be checking those out soon. I had Lava Cake and ice cream for dessert that I enjoyed a lot. I've found in this type of restaurant the service is usually so-so. Not at Front Row. The server I had was fantastic. She was friendly, attentive and helpful. So disappointed in Front Row now. This place was a solid 5 Star but the last 3 times I went I ordered the exact same thing. For 2 years I've ordered the vodka pasta. It was always excellent. Always consistent. The past 3 times it was different all 3 times and it was very bland. I tried to doctor it up but that didn't help. At $17 it's kind of pricey for pasta. Is kitchen help changing so quick that new cooks don't learn how to make it correctly?? With a few new restaurants now open in Exeter, you guys can't rely on your past reputation anymore. Expensive for NH, $17 for a small calzone and it was bad. It was pretty much a grilled cheese with salty chicken and absolutely no sauce. I'm spoiled coming from nyc but I've had better pizza for less than half the price. I couldn't stomach it and got heartburn. Focus on the quality and stop trying to rush orders. People confuse fast delivery for good service. No... Good quality food takes time to cook. read more

Always takes forever to get a delivery or take out order. They are consistently rude to customers. The food is mediocre at best. Tonight I placed a pizza order, they stated "45 min to an hour". I used to do a lot of work in Exeter. Every time I would be so excited knowing that I would be eating at front row for lunch. Their steak tip sub is by far the best steak and cheese I have ever had in my life. I have shown this place to a lot of people and have gotten the same response as my own. Probably one of the better pizza places around. Not your typical greek pizza joint either. Menu is huge with lots of choices. Pizza is killer and always a go to but their other food choices are fantastic. Would recommend the steak tips or chicken tender dinner. Their buffalo chicken pizza is excellent My complaint is that the don't have red bell peppers so their sausage pepper onion stuff can be a little bitter. It is however still delicious. 100% Disappointed. Waited 30 minutes to be seated and guests that arrived after us were seated first. When I questioned why this would happen I was told that no less than four people could be seated at a booth. So a party of two or three takes longer to be seated than a party of four. Not good practice so we took our business elsewhere. I suppose this is par for the course since the owner complained about potential loss of business when the road was shut down for a fallen police officer's funeral procession. You know, this place really does a nice job. If i sit down and think about any changes I would make if I ran things here, I usually end up thinking just how well they are being done already. Portions are very generous, beers selection is solid & tap lines ensure ice cold pints. FR doesn't get enough credit for its non-pizza awesomeness. Fish & chips are some of the best I've had (w/ sweet potato fries), the grilled chicken is amazing on any salad - freshly grilled/marinated & not dry/pre-prepared like so many places. Try the Penne a la Vodka Carbonara if you want something yummy. White pizza rocks. Thin crust requests work. The lobster roll is styled a little differently but is full of yumminess & not pricey. I suppose I could ask for a few more fresh veggies/salad options other than iceberg (admittedly crisp & fresh) , but that would require the prices to jack up a bit and I'm not sure how many others out there would be willing to pay a bit more for the upgrade. To the owner - "Thank you!" Our local go-to stays wonderful & when we venture elsewhere we often comment that we still like FR better. And of course, the pizza rocks. A brick or wood-fired oven might be nice, but that slows things down a lot, adding a cost & sour faces to the hungry masses. FR's system works well & puts pies out quickly, and the quantity for the price is amazing. Try a white pizza w/ pesto, chicken & artichokes. With a micro-brew of your choice & a Bruins/Sox game.
