This was our second visit although we visited their Hampton, NH location. Very good service, food was excellent and my dining partner is amazing!!

The Community Oven opened its second location as The Oven In Epping at Brickyard Square in Epping in the former 900 Degrees space. This wood fired pizza place is very popular on the Seacoast. One of my FB friends from NY always stops for dinner at The Community Oven in Hampton on his annual beach trip with his family to Hampton Beach.  After work, I stopped by The Oven In Epping for dinner. At 5:30 pm on a typical weeknight, the place was not busy yet and I was promptly seated at a table in the main open dining area with full view of the action happening in the pizza prep area (2 wood fired ovens). There is also a full bar area with seating and TVs and also a private back dining room too. I quickly scanned the menu. The selection of appetizers was a bit limited, but I decided on the Small Turkey Tips ($9), which comprised of 3 thick tender chargrilled turkey tips (nice & hot) over caramelized onions and red peppers (lukewarm), served with a sweet bourbon dipping sauce.  For a pizza, the Small (12") Big Oven ($14) had seasoned ground beef, roma tomatoes, sliced red onions, lettuce, oven roasted bacon, homemade dill pickles and cheeses and Thousand Island dressing on a light thin crust, crisp outside and soft inside. I was also given a small cup of Thousand Island dressing too. The taste was similar to a Big Mac, but fresher tasting here. I ate half the pizza and got the other half boxed to go.  Overall, the food I had was very good for the most part. The service was prompt and friendly. The waitress checked up on me periodically. The place got very busy during my dinner visit with several families and couples dining in. In all, The Oven In Epping has filled the void nicely at Brickyard Square for great wood fired pizza.  As a note, the original 900 Degrees location is still open for business in Manchester.

Not too bad actually, just wish there was more cheese! I substituted the red peppers for mushrooms since a true steak bomb has mushrooms and not red peppers! Crust is nice, but thin on the bottom. Would've preferred a thicker pizza. The 900° place was better though.

Wings came out burnt but cold so I would not recommend those. BEST gluten free crust around though so it makes up for it!

Batson River is the latter, and we loved our lunch outing in one of the adorable seasonal outdoor ice fishing sheds. We chose a few "handhelds," including the blackened haddock tacos and fried haddock sandwich, both of which are served with a red cabbage slaw. I enjoyed the tacos - the ratio of fish to slaw and aioli, etc. was just right. And the sandwiches are served with a generous amount of crispy French fries. On a weekday in March, many of the local shops and restaurants were closed. It was an unseasonably warm day, and we were happy to stumble upon Batson River for a fun and memorable lunch!

We had lunch here on Sunday, just after seeing Santa on the boat from the bridge down the street. Highly suggest putting your name in before you want to eat (it was about an hour wait when I put our name in at 11:45). Their reservation system sends you a text when they put your name on the list, and from the link they send you, you can also check your position on the list. They text you when your table is ready. When we arrived with our dog to check in, we were given a couple of seating options in the outside heated deck area. We chose seats looking outside, which were topped with fur warmers, which made them comfortable to sit on. There are plenty of heaters on, which made it nice and cozy. Also, the plethora of Christmas decorations inside and out, made it also feel cozy, and festive. For lunch, I had the blackened fish tacos, which comes with mango pico, red cabbage slaw, chipotle aioli, cotija, on corn tortillas. They were super flavorful, and delicious. I stuck with fries, and they even had sour cream for dipping them. We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!
