My family of three just left and honestly, I wish we hadn't even gone. Overpriced and underwhelming. We ordered three pizzas(2 small, 1 personal), three drinks, and the buffalo chicken dip. The best thing about the meal was the drinks, they serve the Maine Root sodas. Buffalo chicken dip: The menu in the restaurant tells you nothing about what is in it. I cannot eat blue cheese so we confirmed it did not have that in it prior to ordering. We waited forever for the dip and spinach and artichoke dip brought out to start. Once this was "corrected" we got a weird mixture of spinach and artichoke buffalo chicken dip. Not great at all. The menu online when I looked it up for this review tells you what is in it, it is indeed a buffalo chicken spinach artichoke dip, not good when it's not what you're expecting. Pizza 1: Personal Margherita- too much cheese, the mozzarella slices were barely warm, and the crust was not fully cooked. Two pieces of basil for the whole thing. Pizza 2: PPM- Burnt crust, too much cheese, not cut all the way through, and just very disappointing. Pizza 3: Fire Pit Sausage(?)- Burnt crust, barely any sauce, not cut all the way through, and again, very disappointing. We came in at 6:45ish and we left at 8:30. It was somewhat busy when we came in, nothing too crazy for a Saturday night, just some bigger parties. We barely saw our server the entire time. They were more focused on the larger parties that they had, I get it those take more time, but it almost felt like we were purposely being skipped. I like how the ceilings are high in this restaurant feels more open. It's really nice how they have a brick oven and you get to watch them make the pizzas.The spinach and artichoke dip is nice. I like how they have big chunks of artichoke in it. The chicken pesto wrap was good. I would get less tomato next time just cause I'm not a huge fan of it personally. while we were waiting for our food, they gave my little cousin a piece of pizza dough to play with! Pizza was dry...barely any sauce. Went with a group of 13, and the restrictions on ways to pay separately was a big inconvenience. Manager was asked to assist the waiter, who was great, but it was way beyond his intel. She never came. Not sure how long this place will stay in business. Service was good and that's all I can say was. I'm not sure how you can REMOVE flavor from tomato sauce or cheese or even mushrooms. I had a small pizza to go. $21.00 later I'm not sure what I ate but it was less pizza and more a piece of burnt cardboard with something attempting to be food on it but I'm not sure because it was absolutely FLAVORLESS. Been going for years with my husband. Have even brought friends from out of town. Last night was our last visit after being told refills on a fountain soda are not free. I had to pay 6 dollars and some change as I asked for a refill on a very small cup of soda...I was told refills are not free. Met my daughter and her family here for lunch. Had excellent service from Hailey. My SIL & I shared The Big Oven Pizza which was very delicious. My daughter had BBQ Chicken Sandwich and added bacon on Hailey's recommendation-she said it was very good. We all enjoyed draft beer. I was especially happy to have the Blizzard of '78 from Wormtown-a personal favorite. There is a good selection of mostly local beer including Lunch from Maine Beer Co. The restaurant is located in the shopping center, so there's plenty of parking. It has ample seating with choices of high tops, booths and bar seating and an outdoor patio when the weather is warmer. The Community Oven opened its second location as The Oven In Epping at Brickyard Square in Epping in the former 900 Degrees space. This wood fired pizza place is very popular on the Seacoast. One of my FB friends from NY always stops for dinner at The Community Oven in Hampton on his annual beach trip with his family to Hampton Beach.  After work, I stopped by The Oven In Epping for dinner. At 5:30 pm on a typical weeknight, the place was not busy yet and I was promptly seated at a table in the main open dining area with full view of the action happening in the pizza prep area (2 wood fired ovens). There is also a full bar area with seating and TVs and also a private back dining room too. I quickly scanned the menu. The selection of appetizers was a bit limited, but I decided on the Small Turkey Tips ($9), which comprised of 3 thick tender chargrilled turkey tips (nice & hot) over caramelized onions and red peppers (lukewarm), served with a sweet bourbon dipping sauce.  For a pizza, the Small (12") Big Oven ($14) had seasoned ground beef, roma tomatoes, sliced red onions, lettuce, oven roasted bacon, homemade dill pickles and cheeses and Thousand Island dressing on a light thin crust, crisp outside and soft inside. I was also given a small cup of Thousand Island dressing too. The taste was similar to a Big Mac, but fresher tasting here. I ate half the pizza and got the other half boxed to go.  Overall, the food I had was very good for the most part. The service was prompt and friendly. The waitress checked up on me periodically. The place got very busy during my dinner visit with several families and couples dining in. In all, The Oven In Epping has filled the void nicely at Brickyard Square for great wood fired pizza.  As a note, the original 900 Degrees location is still open for business in Manchester. read more

Went this evening. Service was a little off but they have a sign asking to excuse them due to being short staffed so I understand that. We had cheesy bread as an app, which was good, the marinara on the side tasted like it's been sitting in a metal warning station for days. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip. I've always had it steamy and cheesy, but it came out barely warm and the consistency of cream cheese. For meals we had 2 different pizzas and a calzone. All three literally tasted the same, it much flavor just crust and cheese. My kid liked it but I won't be in a rush to go back, mediocre food for $92. read more

The personal sized pizzas are tiny. Toppings are comically sparse. The taste was decent, but it was mostly dough and certainly not worth upwards of $17 each for a personal pizza. We had a $100 gift card for the Beach Plum which is located next door to The Oven. The Beach Plum said they were not accepting gift cards today & refused to do anything to make it right. The pizza was extremely well made! My mom and I were on vacation up in New England, and we stopped by for something quick to eat, and found this great place! The music is perfect for the atmosphere, and they even prep and hand make the pizza in full view with their ovens! The bar top is open, and there is no mask requirement, they are purely optional and at ones discretion. Wow!! What a horrible experience!! My sons hockey team decided to stop in after our game on Saturday night at 7:45pm. There were 27 total people who arrived, from the team and we had absolutely no intentions of sitting together as we understand it's a Saturday night at a restaurant and would be an impossible feat. When we arrived, the manager was clearly aggravated and annoyed with the amount of people that just walked in. Surprisingly, we were able to sit within 10 minutes... we sat in 6 different tables, scattered around the restaurant, as we were expected to do. Most of the boys (10 of them) were able to sit together at one table. We then begin to start placing drink orders and tell the waitress that we will order drinks for and food for our children seated at the other table so it could be included on our tables tab. To our amazement, the manager, tells us that she is unable to do that... and the only thing she could do is put all 27 people on ONE bill for us to split!! This made absolutely no sense, since some families had more people, would order different amounts of food or drinks... so would be unfair to split one bill among 27 people. We asked if each table could just have a separate tab? She refused! She obviously did not want our business and 27 people walked out of the restaurant. This place needs better management skills and customer service skills. read more

I've been to The Oven In Epping three times since moving to the area, twice eating in, once take out. Service was excellent on all three occasions, and the food was good. On my takeout pizza, the bottom of the crust was a little too crispy (aka, a little burnt), but the toppings were good. I will be back. read more

After being over charged in my order based on the on line prices and the in restaurant menu, then being told "that's our price, take or leave it." That's not my real complaint. The pizzas were bla and burnt. The cheese pizza for the kids was rubber. I that the kids were just being fussy. Nope they they were right. My bbq chicken pizza tasted like they forgot the bbq, crust was paper thin and dry, and bones! Bones would be a first for me. Visited The Oven today. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Artichoke dip with corn chips. The dip was pretty good. The chips were so so. You have a great fired oven that could elevate this dish with wood fired pita chip crisps. For the main course we had a bacon and pepperoni pizza. The best part was the homemade crust. The unfortunate part was the amount of grease and lack of crispy bacon. Not sure I would recommend but may be worth a second try. read more

I have been here three times and had a fairly negative experience my last time. Ate in twice and had good experiences but did take out recently and it wasn't great. Ordered and they told me 20-25 minutes. Got there in about 25 minutes and the box seemed cold but figured they had just put it in the box so I left. When I got home about ten minutes later the pizza was freezing cold. Like it had been cooked right away and just sat out with nothing keeping it warm. I also order a large bbq drumstick which is $15 and only came with 4 drumsticks. I know that drumsticks are a bit bigger than standard wings but for $15 should come with 6-8. The pizza is good and have had good experiences eating there. I will give them another chance but this is stuff their predecessors did and why I stopped going back. read more

It was ok. Just ok. Service was slow but our server was friendly enough. The dressing for the house salad was bland. The pizza was blah. I would expect to have BBQ sauce on a pizza that says BBQ sauce as an ingredient. I probably had 2 bites with it. Those bites weren't bad. I wasn't happy that they charge a surcharge for using a credit card. It was a surprise when we saw it on our bill. First time a dining establishment has charged us for that. Ordered a calzone with pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers. Calzone are usually made with ricotta and mozzarella cheese, this had a thin layer of mozzarella, no ricotta.
