We've had our son at From the Heart for Occupational Therapy and some Physical Therapy for over two years. Susan and the whole team there are incredible therapists, and the facility includes a full gym which is helpful for physical needs beyond writing, gross and fine motor skills, etc. They have so many fun games and activities, and our son absolutely loves his therapist. After dropping off my Grandson multiple times and observing the environment I have seen many of the staff act abrasive, cold, and with disdain to the other therapists and technicians., It has made me feel uncomfortable and unsettled imagining how these women especially Miss Robin treat my grandson when others aren't around ... we have since changed therapy centers . read more

2 of my kiddos have been with Susan Montgomery at From The Heart since January. We couldn't be more pleased with the evaluation process and occupational therapy services our children have received. The care, love, and encouragement they receive (and mom, too!) has exceeded our expectations. Susan has been instrumental in equipping our children with the tools they need. We have seen great progress in the various areas where they have struggled (dysgraphia, dyspraxia, low tone, sensory processing disorder, etc, etc, etc.) And she was also instrumental in helping us pursue additional testing and getting a diagnosis (from a third party not affiliated with From the Heart) that had been missed for years by other professionals. She is an angel! We are so thankful for this practice. We would have different children on our hands without the intervention we've had at From the Heart. And more importantly, my children LOVE coming to their appointments. When they are often misunderstood by teachers and the world, they leave here feeling very loved and valued and that alone makes it the best hour of their week. My son went to From the Heart therapy services for 6 mths. The only reason we are not still there is that we moved. Our therapist was Susan Mongtomery and Chelsey -they were kind, knowledgeable and professional too. They gently guided us toward a diagnosis that was hard to discover. We have been seeking professional help for our son for years. He made more progress in the time he worked with Susan and Chelsey than he had in years working with others. My children have been going to From the Heart for several years now. While the care that they have received from their individual occupational therapists and speech therapists has been EXCEPTIONAL, the clinic atmosphere and the administration are off-putting, to say the least. The environment needs some serious updating and a thorough cleaning. The owner, Kathy, is abrasive and confrontational, overall very unpleasant to be around. And it appears that this is taking its toll on the staff as they have recently lost several therapists. In just this past month, 3 therapists have left the clinic. Sadly, after 3+ years, I am leaving our beloved therapists hoping to find a clinic with better morale and administration. read more

Tammy is amazing. Both my children have worked with her for a year and LOVE it. I am really touched by her real care for my kids. She stayed after her normal hours twice to talk to me (without charge) and was so insightful and caring about what she was seeing and how to help my kids develop. From the Heart was recommended by a psychologist that evaluated my son. My first phone call was over a week ago and still have not spoken to anyone that can help with an appointment. Three different days that I have called, I have been told that someone will "call me right back". Definitely not a place I trust with my son's care when I cannot even get a call returned in a timely manner (or not called back at all). read more

Hi. Both of my boys have been patients here and I think they do great work. I will say getting the appointment is the hardest part. They are not well organized in the front office and persistance is key. I believe I called 3-4 times to follow up on getting a time slot scheduled. Even after I was an established patient with one son, and I tried to get the other one in, it required lots of due diligence. Squeaky wheel gets the grease in their scheduling office. Once you are in though, the level of care is exceptional. I have seen a big difference with my sons. One of the biggest compliments is that both of my boys look forward to therapy. They look forward to OT as much as soccer practice. From The Heart engages the kids in a meaningful way. So if you are a tiger mother and can be patient enough to get the appointment OR if they fix their front office issues, I think you will be glad. read more

My son has been going to From the Heart Therapy Services for close to 2 years, every single week, for 4 hours per week. To say I know the staff, facility, and treatment style is an understatement. Having been through Early Childhood Intervention and another well-known therapy group in Austin, I feel like I know rock stars when I see them. We've had the same therapists since we first began treatment and they are truly exceptional. They have changed our family's life and I honestly don't know what we would do without them. From the Heart feels like an extension of our family and they taught our son things that I never would have thought imaginable in such a short time period. I have never seen anything unprofessional, never heard anyone be abrasive or rude, and if anything, this is one of the most positive and peaceful places we go to every week. The way I look at it is that I'm not paying someone to be nice to ME and mind their P's and Q's... I'm paying to ensure my son is getting the best treatment imaginable. And that's exactly what we receive with From the Heart Therapy. Their play-style treatment makes going to From the Heart seem like an extension of preschool rather than therapy. If I could give Kathy Nicholson and From the Heart Therapy 10,000 stars, I would. She has treated all three of our children. Each child had their own individual issues including motor delays, speech delays, low muscle tone, visual perception and visual memory problems. The list goes on and on. I cannot say enough positive things about From the Heart Therapy!! They have truly changed our lives. My son has been going here for 2 years now. Prior to his Occupational health and Speech therapy sessions, we were lost, struggling, and exhausted trying to figure out what was wrong with our son. We had no idea how to help him and it was heartbreaking. I got referred here for an evaluation and he was immediately identified as having sensory processing disorder and a speech delay. I NEVER would have known where to go or what to do and I am truly blessed to have been guided here! He see's Susan Montgomery for Occupational therapy twice a week. Her and her team have helped my son be able to function and cope in social situations, and even be excited about things that use to terrify him.
