After having an evaluation at kidventures, the OT took the time to explain Sensory processing disorder and she gave me lots of resources that my husband and I could implement at home. My son loves going to "play" there and he talks about the "big gym" all the time! In November, I had a procedure to remove papillomas (warts) from my vocal cords. A month later the…read morecords looked okay, but my voice quality was not good. My voice was raspy and inconsistent and it often felt like an effort just to speak. Not a voice that one wants as a teacher. My ENT referred me to Lisa Famiglietti. After 3 weeks of 30-minute sessions twice a week and another three weeks meeting once a week, (a total of 9 sessions) my voice is now better than it has been in years. I cannot speak too highly of her. She gave me back my voice. I recommend doing the sessions over Thera, which is like Zoom. You save time and gas money. The remote sessions worked perfectly for me. Once again, if you are unhappy with your voice quality, I highly recommend Lisa Famiglietti.

Lisa Famiglietti was my therapist and she is the best of the best. At the time I was working with her, I was a music teacher and my voice improved and I was able to sing with more ease with my church music team. I have since changed careers and am not singing anymore, but now that I am close to finishing a PhD, I have time and the bandwidth to start doing my speech therapy exercises again. I am glad I recorded all of my sessions with her three years ago. Lo and behold, my singing voice is coming back again. It feels good to sing again and feel resonance in my face and body again. They need a HIPPA and positive communication training with staff. The only time she had to cancel services was due to her child having the flu and her running late 10 minutes due to car issues. Below you will find a text message to my daughter. Today my daughter was only taking her to preschool for her speech and she receives this text message from her at 1:28pm. Apparently she had already spoken with the director of the school and told she was absent. All communication should start with my daughter first.
