First order
Sara P.

Just got my first order today! I know I read that this might happen but it still kinda sucks that I got cabbage instead of kale. I was looking forward to kale. Also, my order didn't come in a spiffy tote like the other pics. Came in a cardboard box. On a positive note! I got a purple carrot and I'm pretty psyched about that. No lie! Overall it's still a cool convenient way to eat more veggies!

Absolutely OUTSTANDING, often times I get home late and grocery shopping with as picky as I am is hard. I just got my first bag and am absolutely inpressed. The food is abundant, and the local spores pack (will post pics later if possible) is outstanding. I will definitely be using From the Farmer to help out when time is on a crunch. As a side note, the portabellos were in a paper bag (very impressed) and the local spores were in a plastic container and separated so bagging them was very easy.

Ask the Community - From the Farmer

Is the meat local? Like are they raised humane and grass fed?

Hi Sara! Great question - the meat is indeed local! We work with local farms in PA, MD, and VA for only sustainably raised meats. That means no antibiotics, the animals are pasture raised, and are grass fed (or in the case of pork, foraging and in… Read more

The desire to establish a production focused vegetable farm in DC to grow food for family, friends and the surrounding community combined with Taylor's background in activism led to a 3-year campaign, "I Want DC to Grow." This resulted in the passage of the DC Food Security Act of 2014, which sets the stage for 3PH and others to grow commercially in DC. Three Part Harmony Farm exists to grow food for people, but it also exists in part to challenge our assumptions on how urban farms should look. It seeks to create a viable and just local food economy while at the same time dismantling racism and the ever present, entrenched forms of oppression in that same food system.

I was very impressed with the quality and volume of everything that I got, especially compared to how affordable it is. I love that 4P Foods has made the process of getting food via CSA so easy and convenient. You can get local veggies, meat, dairy, and pantry items for a really good price, no more than you would pay at the grocery store, and I feel great knowing that I am supporting local farms. It's really easy to put in my order, select what I want each Saturday and then just sit back and wait for my delivery. I also love the recipes that they send for ideas on dishes to make. The delivery is made to my front door, which is huge considering that I live in an apartment. I have definitely recommended to all of my friends!

My pint of blueberries arrived fully crushed and I reach out to the team to see what they could do. And within minutes, I had a response from my initial point of contact and the customer care associate. 4p foods has been such a bright spot during a time in our country where systemic racism continues to impact many Black people and other marginalized communities. Participating in a sustainable food source and cooking a plant-based diet are ways that I am resisting the impact of capitalism on black bodies. I would love to see more foods sourced from black owned farms in the region.
