BeeKind Syracuse - Hand-poured Soy Candles

A gorgeous little shop right next to Recess coffee in Tippery Hill, Beekind specializes in…read moresustainable and local gifts, particularly their 100% soy wax melts and candles. I previously brought home the Peach Bellini candle and not only does it smell AMAZING, but it lasts so long! If you bring back your finished candle jar they will also give you 10% off your purchase, which is a great incentive for sustainability. They also offer items like a rechargeable lighter, which I'm in LOVE with since it reduces the waste associated with candles (plastic lighters, lighter fluid, matches, etc.). Aside from candles, you can also find various pillows, throws, kitchen utensils, bath bombs, plant accessories, jewelry, and locally made treats... for both humans and pets alike and most are locally sourced brands (e.g., 210 Teas, Syracuse Soapworks, etc.)! This is a great place for gifts, and they even offer recycled wrapping paper! The most charming part of the store, in my opinion, is their variety of bee-themed items. The bee pattern they use on their fabric items is super cute but they also have items like decorative metal bee-shaped wall hooks and, of course, honey. Their wax melts are in honeycomb shapes, as well! If you like to decorate for the holidays, you're in luck, because this shop also offers rotating sustainable seasonal items! Last time I visited, they had picks for Easter, which included items such as painted wooden eggs and ceramic egg trays. Currently they have a gift set for Mother's Day which includes sustainable self-care items from several local brands. Every time I come in there's something new and different! Now my new routine every time I visit Syracuse is to stop by Beekind and grab a latte from Recess next door. One of my favorite places in Syracuse!

One of my favorite local gift shops, still consistently great. I recently bought a car diffuser and…read moreit brought me so much joy for months. Also did a reed diffuser for my apartment and of course some candles. They curate such a lovely selection of artisan gifts that changes throughout the seasons, and the owners are so friendly. Worth checking out!

What caught my eye is the fact that the candles are made from soy wax. The location is super clean…read moreand bright. If you're looking for something other than the overly chemically scented, and often nauseating, fragrance from the shopping mall brands then this is the place for you. With tongue in cheek names like "Big D Energy" and "Material Girl" you're sure to find a scent that speaks to your personality. I purchased two large candles and some wax melts. The candles burn clean and even. And the scents are just divine! There's even a service to refill your glass once you're done with them! How cool is that?

Someone suggested this shop to me. I had some last minute Christmas shopping to do and decided to…read morepop in slightly before closing one Saturday afternoon. The shop is small, but it is decorated so cutely! Seriously stylish aesthetics. I especially love their flower wall, which they said they made themselves. There is a good selection of candles, many of which have sassy names like Cereal-ously Delicious and That's What She Said. I went with one called Momma's Kitchen, which smelled like warm cinnamon cookies. Candles were a bit on the pricey side compared to some other local makers, however I don't mind spending to support local for special occasions that require gifts every now and then. The staff was also very kind. Admittedly, a bit out of my range to buy regularly but a fine occasional splurge.

This is a bargain/liquidation store that sells a ton of stuff that includes:…read more -Flooring (from rugs that can cover your entire house to runners, circle rugs, carpet, peel and stick tiles, pick and choose carpet tiles, laminate, wood, you name it!) -Pet supplies (bed, food, toys, I got a bunch of kitty snacks for 99 cents a piece) -House repair items (paint, tools) -Bathroom stuff (towels, toiletries) -Books (book section's huge, takes up at least 1/5 of the store) -Furniture (futon, bed, chairs, lawn furniture, desk) -Clothes (jeggings, socks, underwear, jeans) -Boots, house slipers (I got some Dearfoams for $4.99) -Gardening stuff (pots, decoration, bird feeders) -Kitchen supplies (I got 4 tart pans for $5.99) -Toiletries (soap, shampoo) -Batteries -Snacks and foods (K-Cups, PopTarts, cereals, teas, saw some Christmas ornament teas even though it's August) They also have a rewards card. They also sell gift cards. The minus a star is because some of the stuff doesn't seem to be that much of a bargain or that much of a discount. The bright orange sticker kind of makes you think you're getting everything for cheaper but more than 50% of the stuff I found to be regular priced or comparable to other grocery stores (ex: the towels were about the same price as you'd get them at places like Target, TJ Maxx, Ross). Nevertheless, this place was really fun to shop in. There is a ton to look at.

THID HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Great bargains which change every week.. They get new stock weekly…read more.. you should go weekly for the best bargains!
