This is a nice little bar that's literally in the middle of no where. I've been here on a couple occasions during a Leafs game and it's usually quiet and relaxing. Pitchers are a decent price at around $20 for domestic beers and there are lots of peanuts to eat on the house. It's owned by an older gentleman, who is extremely friendly and very nice to new customers. He made my friends and I feel very welcome and was quick to serve us when he was available. He also takes requests on what to watch on the TV, as sometimes there are multiple games going on at once. Overall I would come back again if I am in the area as this is a great place to relax and catch a quick pint. The food is also very decent and they do a good job of using fresh ingredients. Also to note, the owner gave us free shots of some kind of hard European liquor as we were leaving, what a nice gesture!

First, the kitchen staff was very evidently not wearing masks properly - over four had their masks pulled down over their chins and/or fully exposing their noses. Second, the service was painstakingly slow. It took them over half an hour to serve our dishes after we placed our orders. As for the food, I ordered the lobster avocado wrap but with the tiger sauce on the side as I was worried it'd be a touch too soggy. I think it was a good decision as the tomato and smashed avocado were sufficient to make the toasted wrap wet already. The lobster was decent - there was more meat than I expected, but some of the meat was quite soft (not al dente as fresh lobster often is). The bacon and toasted wrap helped add some texture mouthfeel, which I appreciated. For those wondering, the "tiger sauce" was a slightly spicy, sour mayo-based sauce. My friends ordered the Cuban panini and the sliders. Both found the food portions to be quite generous and were stuffed after the meal! Overall, it was a decent experience. The patio is a tad too close to the road so it can be a bit loud, and do be prepared for a wait if you plan on eating here.

It was cooked to a perfect medium-rare -- nicely seared on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The fries were also crispy and delicious. The real surprise for me, though, was the garlic sauce that came with them. It was so good that I decided to try it with my steak, and it paired incredibly well. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal! The mushrooms, unfortunately, were just okay. Considering how expensive they were, I didn't think they were worth the price and probably wouldn't order them again. Our waitress was friendly and pleasant, which we appreciated. However, she did forget to bring us water and takeout containers, so we had to remind her. It was a minor inconvenience, but it did take away a little from the overall experience. Overall, the steak, fries, and especially that garlic sauce made for a great meal. I'd definitely come back for the steak and fries!

The tomato, lettuce and onion were generous, but also cold, which chilled down the patty. The bun was just a bun, barely toasted, cold to the touch on top. There are better burgers within walking distance, so this one is tough to rally behind. The fries were fine, but they're the unusually long, uniformly rectangular, cuboid type that are a touch powdery inside. Again, my mouth waters thinking about similarly priced fry plates at several other local watering holes. I won't remember these. I've had grilled heart before / anticuchos marinated in aji panca, so I knew what I was getting into with this dish. I felt confident ordering it, theory being that if a place is going to offer an organ meat, it will be a standout. But I couldn't detect any panca paste, the sauce on the plate was watery, and the pieces came buried in a mound of sliced green onions, which didn't pair well for me. The meat was chewy and I found the lack of flavor off-putting. Again, if you're looking for a hip-looking, comfortable and cool place for some drinks with friends, do put this place on your list. The drinks seem reasonably priced in contrast to the food. Though I didn't try a cocktail, it seems like this is where The Golden Peacock might be putting its best efforts.
