Fortunately, the online website told me the Plano county office was Temporarily closed. You don't know how much time it saved me and I am so glad I looked before leaving my office early. Basically the storms yesterday created some flooding in the building, but I am impressed with the thoroughness of the information on the website. Thank you Collin County Clerk Office. Way to go!!!

In this case it's the Town Hall building for the once tiny town of Prosper. Not long ago this was literally a tiny north Texas Town,exactly like the 1000s dotting the flat prairie of this part of the state. As development moves north at an ever more rapid pace,these tiny communities are being transformed overnight. It is critical with this type growth that responsible citizens are in from the start with rock solid civic planning. Once the infrastructure is planned and built out,it's impossible to retreat and redo. Setting the foundation for what's to come is a make it or break it proposition. On this day,I had taken my High School Junior Grandson to breakfast. Afterward I proposed we get on the Dallas north toll road and see where it ends. It still ends in roughly Prosper where staging is taking place to begin the extension even further north. Unprecedented growth continues to take place. I turned up towards the little town and as we passed the Town Hall building,I proposed we go in and take a look. Little did my grandson know that I'd disguised a civics lesson for him in the form of a city government visit. Ha,he thought he was missing school! Happy Birthday! As we entered the building I was truly amazed at the quality of construction. Well planned and thought out with top quality materials from floor to ceiling. Display cases reviews the history of small town Prosper in a museum quality way. We were greeted by a lovely representative of the city that was very helpful in our understanding of the area. If you're out and about seeing what's happening in our ever changing world,I highly recommend you stop in and appreciate this lovely structure and budding city government.

They have the audacity to have veterans events and yet they let people dressed up as hitler spew hate and cuss words to a crowd of 3.

The very nice Lady was all to happy to direct me where to go! When I got into the building inspection office it wasn't obvious what to do or who to talk to. There were 2 people sitting in what appeared to be a mock waiting room. I waited patiently in front of the counter for what seemed like an excessive amount of time. I was never acknowledged or directed where to go. I finally asked a fellow patron singing in on a clip board marked with a sign that said "Complete Application". He told me to sign in on the clip board and someone would eventually get to me. Overall the experience was good but they could stand to communicate more clearly with better signage.

There is a large parking lot with many slots. You will need to go through security then head upstairs to 2nd floor. There are tvs to watch or bring a book. It gets chilly so you might want to bring a jacket (at least day I was there) They are very organized in getting groups organized. My group was called around 930 and told to report back at 130 so had lots of time to explore the downtown square. Everyone I talked with that worked ther was pleasant. Was an interesting day. You are allowed to bring food and drink into the waiting room which I was happy about. There is a drink and snack machine outside the room, it seemed everyone that used it had some issues getting what they wanted.

Going to the post office during a lunch break usually means expecting a line out the door, but…read morethank heavens, there were only a few people ahead of me! I had a quick question about postage because I absolutely hate it when I mail something with the incorrect amount and it gets sent back to me. The clerk was able to help me out within just a couple of minutes. The entire visit was quick, easy, and stress-free. Plus, because it went so fast, I actually had some time left over to just relax before going back on the clock! Highly recommend this location.

Don't waste your time coming here for that stuff. Just go to the one on Stonebrook 2. The kiosk machine seems to rarely be in service and when it does work it will charge your credit card but not spit out the postage. Don't bother calling the postal service about a refund or anything else regarding the kiosk. Only the store personnel can assist you. Which leads to the 3rd item. 3. The store hours don't seem very reasonable. They aren't open the times I can get there this the reason to use the kiosk. The postal service owes me a refund of $14 for postage that never printed but since I can't get there during their hours I am out of luck. Even though the Stonebrook location is a long ways away, I have to go there for anything postal related. Maybe someday the government will hire someone that will change the attitude of the postal service by introducing an aspect of customer service!!!

We used the kiosk to check in, waited about 15 minutes in a clean and fairly quiet waiting area, and were able to get new plates for two vehicles in about 15 minutes. The staff member was friendly and efficient. We'll use this office again when the need arises.
