Dr. Wang is wonderful. She is a very busy woman, working on her own and doing her best with her patients. She checks up on me to make sure I'm feeling comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. I didn't feel anything. She truly does have gentle hands. Thankfully, they take insurance and her receptionist/assistant does her best to work with insurance as much as possible. Unfortunately dental work is never affordable but, at least they do their best to work with you. They are respectful and super nice. I love how clean and modern the interior design is too. The worst experience I've had. And just to clarify ahead of time, this was not my first rodeo at getting a root canal. I had one done in Southern California but everything went well there. First of all this review is a few months old. I'm still trying to get over my trauma and every-time I attempted to write my review it was too much I just didn't get to it. Her pricing is up there with big City pricing. I paid $600 for x-rays plus a few more for a 3d reading I'll have to look at my receipt for actual cost. Plus she was going to charge about $1,900.00 for a root canal. This was a Refereal from my dentist and she knew upfront that I have anxiety and would require a bit more time and patience, but that did not translate in her mannerisms and I believe it's fair to say that she has no bedside manners. I honestly should of looked her up before i went to see her. She was not able to connect with me as a patient on the first visit but bc I knew I needed to get the work done I went ahead and trusted my dentist on the referral so I went ahead and schedule the procedure. When we arrived she was walking her little puppy (which is adorable) but then later we found out that the dog is there in the office with her all day so if you are allergic to dogs this is something you should know. Luckily I am not. She was more than a few minutes late to see me bc she had to put her dog back on her office and het prep for me, that did not bother me as I live dogs and am a very understanding person. However, she just could not and did not cultivate empathy for me. When she injected the novocaine it instantly and immediately shot excruciating pain up my jaw across the side of my face and up to my forehead. I read a review from someone else that had the same experience a few months ago. I wish I would of read her reviews and looked more into her background experience and training. I told her that it was ultra painful and she just pulled me back down to the chair and told me that the second shot was going to be less painful. She lied bc it was stronger and it made me tear up bc of all the pain. She did not use any tactic to allow me to calm down or use the tactic that my Dentist uses when he injects novocaine. After I went to the restroom to wash my face and calm down we just couldn't connect. She inserted a block into my mouth without explaining to me what she was doing and in the process she managed to break skin on my lip bc of the force she used. I even explained to her that my jaw could lock bc it's happened before, her respond was "oh don't worry if your jaw locks I'll adjust it for you." She does not understand trauma, anxiety and or panic. Her listening skills along with empathy for her patients do not come across naturally or sincerely. Since I couldn't stop crying bc if the triggering pain from the novocaine shots, she panicked and immediately walked me over to my husband (the lobby) as she did not allow him to be there with me while the procedure was taking place, even after we told her that ge was my emotional support person. We decided to go back to my dentist, which ge does know how to work with patients like me with anxiety and he does have a technique that ge uses while he is administering the novocaine shot, so I know it's not me it's her. We decided to remove the tooth and then get an implant, which is more costly than having the root canal but I rather do that route then continue with her and or another specialist in root canal. After all they don't guarantee that the root canal will work, so we requested our money back from the procedure but she did not reimburse us for the x-rays and what is sad about the whole thing is that she didn't even call the next day to check up on me and or if I was going to go back etc. read more

They deserve more than 5 stars ... let's say it's a 10! lol Dr. Sandy Wang is truly AMAZING!  Previously, I have been so afraid to address getting a root canal, so when I went in for a consult, I shared all my concerns... Dr. Wang addressed each one with confidence and heart. Today, I had my Root Canal. It only took about 1 1/2 hours, and it went by really FAST!  Something Dr. Sandy Wang said to me, "There should NOT be any pain..."  (I thought ... yeah, right! lol), and there was NOT a second of pain!  She talked me through every step of the procedure, so I was "in the know" about what she was doing and what to expect; what a gift! The worst part of the entire process was MY anxiety BEFORE the actual procedure. So, if YOU are reading reviews ... looking for "The One" that will address your Endodontist needs with Knowledge, Experience, Expertise,  and Heart (yes, Heart is important), look no further... Dr. Sandy Wang should be your GO TO! Did you know that most Endodontists are NOT "Board Certified"?  YEP... I learned that there are only about 10 DFW Endodontists that are "Board-certified"! We should of gone with our first gut feeling. Initial visit was a referral from our primary dentist. My wife was in excruciating pain and we wanted to do everything to save her tooth so we went blindly to see Dr. Sandy Wang. (Wish we would of done a search on the reviews.) First of all she is super pricey $$$$ and she has no empathy towards her patients. She knew on the referral that my wife has anxiety and that she would need extra patience and care. She immediately kicked me out of the room even after she was told that my wife needed me in the room to help her calm. She told my husband to wait in lobby bc she was just going yo take X-rays and no procedure would be done that day. Secondly all I can think about is that day that my wife was walked out of the room crying and in pain on the day of the procedure. Dr Sandy Wang is amazing. I've had 4 root canels in my 63 years. Sports and military related. I developed an abcess and she methodically, professionally and conscientiously fixed it. She told what was going to happen, aka, what to expect, the pains I would experience and why, mostly pain killing shots, the sounds. Showed me x rays, and she ensured my comfort. She was conscientious about my BP, what I had eaten for anesthesia and later ibuprofen, and she really cared. The best endodontist in all my years!!! read more

If you're looking for an endodontist, Dr. Sandra Wang is amazing and you don't need to look any further. She took the time in explaining what to expect, listening to me and my husband's concerns because I was anxious. She would show me my then n now x-rays. Dr. Wang made me feel comfortable during my procedure. This was my first root canal. I'm happy to say I don't have the same stories of some of my friends and family with their horrible experience of a root canal. Highly Highly Recommended Dr. Sandy Wang was super Professional, Cool, Funny and most importantly ZERO PAIN! She's from PLANO, Went to TCU, Texas A&M (a few others) and is a True Texan. I'll be honest, at first I thought she was just some California Transplant that just moved to Texas to take advantage of all the influx. NOPE! Raised right down the street! She's graduated from Plano Senior High School then headed over to Fort Worth & College Station after that! She cares about Texas, serving this community and doing teeth the right way. I, too, wish I could give ZERO stars! I must say first, that the front desk receptionist was wonderful! Very professional, efficient and understanding! FIVE stars for her! Now, regarding Dr. Wang. I found her to be HORRIBLE! She is not personable at all, makes NO attempt at conversation, and when I asked a question, she was very brusque and even seemed annoyed. She has a little white dog that has his/her own private office. Yet, at the end of my appointment, she had the dog IN HER ARMS WALKING AROUND THE OFFICE! I also recall the dog walking in the office UNATTENDED! I found that entirely unacceptable. Now to her prices. Do we live in Beverly Hills? Maybe she wants to be on "Real Housewives". For a CONSULTATION which included a 3-D panorama view, and I believe 8 individual e-rays, she charged me $880.00!!!! I was flabbergasted! I gave Dr. Wang and her staff a 5-star because 6-star is not available. I visited her office twice, and both times the level of care that I received was excellent. Before and during the procedure, Dr. Wang explained to me in detail what she was going to do. Dr. Wang had made my visits for the root canal procedure a tiny bit harder than a walk in a park. CROOK! DO NOT COME HERE! I came into this office because I was referred by my primary dental provider due to severe tooth pain with possibility for a root canal. Before the appointment I was told the "consultation" fee was $306 which seemed extreme to me for a patient to pay upfront. I clarified and asked would this be billed to insurance and I was told yes, however after arriving for my appointment the receptionist said they need to collect the full amount and bill insurance AFTER the appointment and then they would reimburse me after they got paid from the insurance company. Almost 60 days have gone by and I AM STILL WAITING! Finally I've been told there is a code that most insurance companies don't cover, "a pulp vitality test" Why would a dentist be using a code SHE KNOWS won't be covered by most plans. I had agreed on a price to get a complex root canal done. I ask the doctor for a price of a worst case scenario and best case scenario and she agreed. Went to the front desk and asked the same to the lady that gave me the quote. They gave me a price waited a few weeks before I could afford it, got it done paid the agreed price and now get a bill for $900.00 more dollars. They blame it on insurance, I asked for worst case scenario and assumed I got quoted that price. I guess the work she did was fine but I would never go back. Not sure I will even pay this BS. I have had other doctors do this same tactic, not putting up with it, tired of getting dumped on. read more

Well when I came in for my appointment they then told me they don't accept my insurance. Why didn't anyone call to tell my this before the appointment and I had to take time off work. Had a root canal done incorrectly as a kid that came back with a vengeance 20+ years later. I was able to get a consultation the day after my dentist referred me over to Dr. Wang. She was able to save the tooth, repair the errors previously made, remove a rod we did not know what there, and reassure me that everything was okay when I felt it wasn't healing. *****************Healthcare/Insurance Fraud******************** I was referred to Dr. Sandy Wang by my dentist for a root canal. I was told by her office girl, Marie, that there would be a $350 charge for "calcification" that would not be covered by my insurance. I paid what I was told to pay and did not think anything about it until I got my claim back. I did not see any mention of this fee on my claim. I called my dental insurance company to confirm that this was not sent to them. My insurance company said this cannot be charged separately from the root canal fee and that as a contracted provider she is required and has agreed to send all fees on claims to them. Futhermore, as a contracted provider she has agreed to charge patients only the agreed upon rates with my dental insurance company. She is playing the system to charge patients more than what she is supposed to! Please save yourself the used car salesman tactics and money and go to another endodontist that isn't committing fraud by falsifying claims sent to insurance. read more

Visited a few days ago. I know dentists are like sales nowadays, but never expected this bad. Front desk asked me to fill out the form, which took me less than five minutes, and then 30 minutes of long long wait...... Wang came out half an hour later, forced me to try their fancy new "root canal" with surgery. Once I asked for the regular root canal that my insurance covers most, they kicked me out saying "I spent too much time filling out the form and they have to see the next patient" At the end, I received no treatment but $300 dollar out-of-pocket bill. So, make sure you read this before making an appointment there, they are extremely nice until you decline what they offer, which normally cost hundreds of out-of-pocket dollars. read more

I went in for a root canal. She numbed my gum for less than 10 seconds and just stuck a needle in my tooth area for anesthesia. It was excruciating pain because my gum area wasn't numbed at all. I was asked to wait 10 mins before starting treatment but ended up sitting and waiting for more than 40mins while my anesthesia was wearing off. She was obviously over booked. I had enough when I was told to pay incredibly expensive treatment fee even before the procedure started. Totally unprofessional experience and way over the price range of normal root canal. Do not be fooled by the D magazine awards. D magazine is just a paid advertisement. Incredibly disappointed and felt like I was being scammed the whole time. Do yourself a favor and look for a real Dentist with heart. One positive note was front desk lady. She was very apologetic and understanding. It felt like front desk lady was used to apologizing on behalf of this rude dentist. Please shop around and avoid this place. Precise. That is the word that comes to mind when working with Dr. Wang. She took me in, last minute, for a root canal. For some reason I was having a hard time getting numb at my dentist office I frequent so he referred me to her. I have worked with her in the past. I have seen so many dentists in the DFW area that I could write a tour guide book. I have shopped around for so long and have always been impressed with Dr. Wang. I know that when I spend money, it will be well spent and I will not regret the work she does. She works with a microscope to get ALL decay out of my cavities. She also takes pictures on a professional picture to show exactly what she did at the end to ensure transparency. Seriously, dental work sucks and it is expensive. Even with my "great" dental insurance, I still walk out paying more than I'd like so I truly value quality work for my teeth. Take it from me and do not hesitate to work with this woman.
