I have loved going to Frisch for many years. Would love to see them continue but recently went to drive thru for my favorite vanilla coke. I will not be going back for a $4.29 cup of ice with suppose to be 20 oz. coke. No way. This is not how you keep people coming. Look at your menu and prices to find a way to stay in business. It's Frisch's. You know what you're getting into. I have a like/hate relationship with Frisch's. Apparently many others do as a number of their Cincinnati area locations have quickly been closing down. My instant take on Frisch's is this - What they do right, they do great. What they do wrong, not so much fun. At this point, I'm going to Frisch's for either a Big Boy burger or a Fish sandwich. During my last visit, I got the Big Boy burger and it was spot-on as always. As an alternative to the Fish sandwich, I got the Fish & Chips platter. The F&C platter was hugely disappointing. It's my fault if I didn't see a picture of this on the drive-thru menu. What I had expected was a few of the pieces of their breaded fish, as they use on the sandwiches, which are great. What I got were two large triangles that were the equivalent of fish sticks and fries. Now, if you've had the Frisch's Fish sandwich before, it tastes fresh with those big pieces of fish on there. It tastes like actual fish. These triangles of disappointment were very sub par and I would never recommend these to anyone. A few other notes on my recent experiences at Frisch's: The dine-in service is hit-or-miss. Unfortunately I've found this to lean heavy on the "miss" side. In fact, some (now closed) locations I refused to go back to after repeated experiences of horrible service and the restaurant just being dirty in general. The buffet - Forget it. Not worth the money, no matter what time of day it is. If it was less expensive, you'd be getting what you pay for. But, at their current prices, to have a poorly stocked buffet with not great food is not worth the money. Fries and Onion Rings - I absolutely love crinkle fries and a good onion ring. If you look at Frisch's Onion Rings, they look amazing, don't they? And then you bite into these fried voids of flavor and you almost question if you have lost your sense of taste. If there's one thing that Frisch's is consistent on it's making sure their Fries and Onion Rings have zero seasoning and taste like absolutely nothing. A little salt and pepper can go a long way. Now, some may say that you can simply salt them yourself. Maybe that's Frisch's philosophy and they don't want to over season. I can salt them but they are shockingly tasteless. So much that simply salting them doesn't seem to do the trick. Would I go back? If I'm craving a Big Boy Burger, then yes. Otherwise, no. It's simply not worth the time or money. In fact, I began this review by checking three stars. As I went on writing my review, I dropped it to two. Frisch's is on inedible or the worst place you can go. They are priced though as a decent mid-level restaurant with a drive-thru. I expect a higher quality "fast food" than your big monster chains. At some point Frisch's has appeared to give up and it doesn't even feel like they're trying. But, the one location left in our area seems to be quite busy at times so it works for some people. We dined here in August while visiting family and had an awful experience the food on the breakfast bar was not hot or fresh at all. I called and spoke to Josh and since we live out of state they were going to send a visa gift card since August I have called several times spoke to Josh and Ann. When I called on Oct 20th Ann was going to call her boss to follow up and then call me back since then I have called and left messages since Ann was cooking and was told she would call me back as of 6:30 pm 10/30/2025 I still haven't received a call back nor have I gotten the visa giftcard that I was promised. Very poor customer service. I'm hoping that I hear something soon. read more

So I went to Frisch's with my family for dinner last evening. I noticed a new item on the menu the big boy Smash burger. I've always been a fan of the big boy, but this burger was off the hook fantastic. Thick patties with onions in between lots of tartar sauce, cheese, and lettuce. It was so good. I'm looking forward to stopping by again while I'm in town to have another one. The ice and pecan pie are still as good now as it was 45 years ago. The service is poor at best, the food is cold when it comes out. The restaurant is dirty in general. Bathrooms are a mess. Prices have gone up, I just paid $70 for a meal that wasn't worth $10. That was my last trip to this restaurant. read more

Just had lunch here with family. Service was great. All special requests were met and then some. Our waitress Whitney was excellent. She was busy due to the amount of people in restaurant, but she was quick to help out or refill drinks. The food was good and the hot fudge cake was a 10 out of 10. Went there on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded, just a few people. My wife ordered a cup of chili and a 1/4 pound cheeseburger. I ordered a Big Boy and a cup of chili. The waitress brought the chili and it was cold. She brought my Big Boy burger and they put the bottom bun in the middle and the middle bun on the bottom. Had to ask for napkins twice. I should start by saying I counted 5 employees and 10 people in the restaurant. Well I can tell you this Frisch's service SUCKS as bad as Hamilton. I can't image how it could get any worst. Take my advise and go to McDonalds at least you will be eating soon. As a business own I would say they need a new manager but that would be too kind. Frisch's as NO Management. Or at least not one employee appears to care about the customers. They will come to the register and talk to each other and not even acknowledge customers standing waiting to be seated. And then of course the customers walk out the door and they don't care. In our case we was stupid enough, waited and then ask to be seated. Super nice gentleman took us to our table and got our drinks. We sat for 10-12 minutes as a worthless waitress came to a table near us 3 different times without saying a word to us. Finally I went into the kitchen area and ask if we could place our order. The same nice gentleman came and took our order. Still waiting, not one word from anyone. Food finally arrives. On a side note, whomever is runs the Middletown Frisch's is doing a great job. Not the case in the Hamilton area stores. read more

Looks like I'm behind the times this time, 'cause the saying "it's Frisch's" is played out by now. So I just won't say it. I find reviewing chains to be a bit of a challenge, as my tendency is to think of all my overall experiences at any of the locations, and that's not what we're really about on Yelp. So trying to focus on my experience at this specific restaurant, I can tell you that there's plenty of seating, plenty of parking, plus a drive-through. I'll note that it's a considerable distance from the handicapped parking spaces to the front door. Of course that's across flat level ground, so if the physically challenged person is in a wheelchair, it's okay. But if they happened to be on crutches or using a walker or cane, it could be problematic and you probably want to drop the person off at the front door then go park. Very clean inside, good seating arrangement, great big salad bar centrally located that looked quite appealing. The hostess was cheerful and promptly accommodating to our request to be seated in a certain area. (You know how at some places, if you ask to be seated here or not seated there, rather than just mutely following to where you're led, you get "the look" or a long-suffering sigh? Not at all the case here.) Our waitress though was somewhat lacking in promptness, people skills, and timing. I hope she was the exception and not the rule for the servers here. This Frisch's location is easily one of my top ranking favorites in Greater Cincinnati. It consistently presents a very clean, welcoming atmosphere. The salad bar, breakfast bar, and hot bar(when offered) are always well stocked with plenty of very satisfying options. It has a very fine team. I want to continue to recognize Tia for what a very fine server she is. She is consistently very prompt, attentive, and professional in the way she conducts herself. Went thru the drive-in at Frisch's yesterday. Got a vegetable soup and a new Classic cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was the best cheeseburger I have ever had. The only thing I didn't like was the lettuce. I don't like lettuce on sandwiches. But I just took it off. It had pickles and red onions and of course tartar sauce. Ordered last night from the drive thru, two out of three people fell incredibly ill. I believe it was either the beef or the fountain drinks, as those are the only two things both had. Stomach pains, vomiting, and excessive sweating. The illness continues today. The only person who didn't get sick had a buddy boy and no drink. Sent an email through the website, but would stay away for a while to avoid getting sick. Waiting on a response on how they will handle it. Hopefully they respond quickly and no one else falls ill. Update: I've received a call. He was very courteous, and had me review the information. It was not impersonal in the least. I was informed that the temperature charts and safety log will be reviewed. I was also given a meal for two at my convenience to use, though he assured me that he understood it did not make the situation any better. I have written reviews for Frischs before, and with this one, I will agree with the post above mine. It is indeed, Frischs. When I'm having a hankering for some French fries and ranch dressing or a bucket of Vanilla Coke, I will head over to my fave place for it! This location seems like it's usually always pretty busy, and with that the service is still pretty quick. I've always had polite waiters, and I know what to expect. The only tip I can give is not to be adventurous like myself... don't try the mince pie unless you are familiar with what it is.... I wish I had a camera for the faces of disgust when we bit into it... ugh!! But to remedy the situation I just stuck some ranch covered fries into my face, and drank some more vanilla coke! Whew! Crisis averted! I've been plenty of times, and I'll be back again. read more

Probably the worst service and food I have ever had. The service was very slow and the food was cold. Just getting a seat was slow and they weren't that busy. There is no excuse for this and never saw a manager. I don't like the menu changes as there is less to choose from. They also don't have coke products. read more

If you enjoy frischs don't visit this location. I always order a hot fudge cake with xtra fudge on the side for my daughter. This frischs is the only one that will refrain from putting my fudge on the cake and give me a small cup of fudge. I asked them to put my fudge on the cake and they rudely responded with saying the extra cup was all the fudge for my cake when I paid .50 extra for that small container of fudge. This is not the first time this has happened. I wrote corporate about it the last time with no response. It will be the last time I visit frischs because of the company's lack of care about the costumers. read more

Went through the drive thru to wait 10 minutes for my food. As I pulled up to the window they read back the order and it was incorrect. I told them the issue and was told they would fix it. After another 8 minutes passed the new food came out and was wrong yet again. I had to wait an additional 8 minutes for the proper food while the rest of the meal got cold. read more

LOVE this Frischs. Do not suggest drive-thru at Route 4 location in Hamilton by Richards Pizza (old Arby's). I stop here 1-2x a day for cherry cokes. My boys and I love their food but only eat here maybe 2x a month. Their staff are always very courteous and will always make things right if they make a mistake. Only thing I dislike about this location is that they try to sell you some kids coupons going through the drive-thru. It's business and I understand why management makes them do it! read more
