Family meal: 12 piece fried chicken with jojos and two sides
    Valerie C.

Really great fried chicken! I know what you're thinking: this is a gas station. Ok, but the chicken is really good! When I gave a piece of the batter to my three-year-old and asked her what she thought of it, she closed her eyes and raised her hands. It looked like a religious experience, and we were laughing so hard. We felt the same way! The jojos (potato wedges, battered and fried) were just as good. Some other potato wedges have an odd texture. These were perfect. The mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were nothing special, and the sauces were ok. Don't bother with the creamy ranch, IMO. But that chicken. My mouth is watering again. Just a note that the 12 piece meal was more than enough for four adults and a three-year-old. We had some leftovers. There are not too many places where we can feed all of us so economically. They also have chicken tenders if bones aren't your favorite to mess with.

    Pizza and chicken tender!

They have random hours and are not consistent. Gives off a gas station vibe more than a restaurant one

I was early enough for happy hour and had a wonderful Cucumber Gimlet. The service was excellent. I ordered the House Chopped Salad, Lake Erie Walleye, and Lemon Blueberry Panna Cotta. The salad tasted really good and fresh. The Walleye too. I liked the fennel salad with cilantro lime rice. I ate half to take some home and not be too full for dessert. The panna cotta was good, mostly because of the topping. It is not something I would order again, being kind of bland, but to no fault of the kitchen. I'm not a custard-y kind of gal, but wanted to try it. I would definitely come back here for another meal.

Everyone from the hostess to our server was very friendly and nice. They have a full bar and a decent selection of beers. My wife and I decided to share their whipped ricotta appetizer and their French onion burger. The appetizer came with thinly cut crusted baguette. The ricotta cheese was mixed with some strawberry flavor. It wasn't bad but I would have preferred it to be thicker in constituency. The burger and fries came out perfectly cut into half portions for each of us, which was a really nice touch. We had asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare and I think it came out more like a medium well. The patty itself was a bit dry. This may be a one off issue and we hope to return to try some other dishes.

It took quite a bit time to get my food, even though I was the only one in the restaurant. The service was descent. I had a gift card and wanted to use all of it. So I ordered two dishes. A few items I wanted to try was not available. I order the CJs platter two pieces of chicken and two pieces of perch with a side of dirty rice. The chicken was good. The rice was a little dry and the perch was not my favorite. I also order the Blacken salmon pasta and a side of wings. The pasta was really good. I would order it again. Today ramen! 1 mile from my house is Kyushu. Black garlic ramen with pork, 4 crispy little veggie spring rolls and the pork buns. I don't know what they are called on the menu, I just know what they are lol. Ramen is also subjective and I've had my share. Kyushu is just very very solid. It comes out fast and most importantly, the perfect temp. I've been to some ramen places that bring out a bowl of lava ramen served with a side of skin graft. The corn at the bottom is still fresh with a crunch to it. The Black a garlic just has such a depth to the broth. The egg is always perfect and the pork just melts. The spring rolls were super crispy and I really liked the spicy mayo dipping sauce. I love anything that resembles a Bao bun. I especially appreciate the chili oil and spicy seasonings at each table. Warms you up on these unpredictable Ohio evenings. I also had a Tsing Tao and an Ichiban lager beer. All in all just an enjoyable meal. $41 plus tip for everything. No complaints. It was worth it.

For example, you could get the spicy kani salad GF, but it would not have the spicy mayo on it (their mayo contains gluten). I was also told that the only GF ramen bowls were the vegetarian ones. I'm not a huge fan of tofu, but all the other proteins are marinated in a soy sauce containing gluten. I felt a bit mislead by the menu. However, my ramen was delicious, minus the chewy tofu haha There were a few sushi rolls that were safe and they did have GF soy sauce. They can get busy inside, so be prepared to wait during popular times.
