At my best friends house and our kids were running amuck. She asked, should we just take them to Friendly's. They all perked up at the thought of ice cream and off we went. It was quiet. A Friday at 3pm and it was us and an older couple in the restaurant. They didn't mind our loud children, which we apologetically tried to calm over the course of our early dinner. But that's the great thing about Friendly's. You know walking in it's about loud families and being comfortable in your surroundings. Think Ground Round or Okey Dokey from back in the day. So my friend and I weren't as modified as we would usually be and a place with a different atmosphere. The food was generic, American diner like food and it held up to it. You come here for the ice cream, period. It's really some of the best around and hit different from the restaurant. A sundae comes with a kids meal so I got to have some of Bubs' banana split (one of the reasons why we call him Brucie Bananas is because he lovessss bananas). Finally, shout out to our sever who was the most patient and kind with our rowdy kids. It wasn't easy, and she made it seem effortless.

What's better than a classic spot. Nostalgia at its best. The turkey stack was great! And oh my I love a Reese's pieces sundae. And they have the best Coke ever.

Visiting family and was driving back to the hotel when we had to do a turn around to come here. Thought they pretty much were all closed... First time ever using the take out window. It was almost 10 PM in the summer and the girl at the counter was polite, and quickly made our items. My husband had a black raspberry Fribble, which he said was very good (He said Graeter's in Ohio and Kentucky' have better black raspberry). I had a Happy Ending Sundae, made with cookies and cream and topped with marshmallow topping, peanut butter topping, and whipped cream and sprinkled with Reese's Pieces ( a throw back to my younger days eating Reese's Pieces sundaes when they first came out and had5 scoops).... I devoured it, it was delicious, but honestly it seemed smaller being shoved in a takeout cup than the metal serving bowl I was used to . 5/5 for pure nostalgia, taste and "ambience" when I checked out the dining room...

My delivery driver reeked of weed. It's nice that they deliver now but the drivers should be held to some standard of safety.

Whether you're an ice cream enthusiast or just have a sweet tooth, Mickey's has something for everyone: traditional ice cream, cakes, hand made pies, premium pints, non-dairy options, and their famous ice cream sandwiches (yummm). There were so many flavors and treats to choose from that it took us a while to decide! I loved seeing the grab-and-go pints, such a great idea for busy families or for bringing dessert home. Before making my final choice, I sampled the cookie dough ice cream (which was rich and packed with doughy pieces), but I went with a scoop of Java Chunk in a cone with chocolate sprinkles. The flavor was spot on! A perfect blend of coffee and chocolate chips. My niece opted for her all-time favorite, cotton candy with rainbow sprinkles. The look on her face was pure joy. We took our treats outside and enjoyed them in the seating area, which was spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxing on a sunny day and making the most of the beautiful weather. My niece told me it was the best day ever when we were enjoying our ice cream, so safe to say this place does it right.

My friends and I typically get 4 pints (buy 3 get 1 free) and keep them in my freezer and eat straight out of our own tub of ice cream - that is how much we love this place. Marvin likes their milkshakes which I also get occasionally, depending on my mood. If you get chocoholic in the milkshake just beware that the chunks kind of collect at the bottom! I also appreciate that they have non-dairy options which I have try still.

I went in expecting a five star experience. My friend and I had brunch here previously and it was…read morefantastic. So ... we were on the waiting list for Schnitzels at 5 pm on a Sunday. They don't take reservations. After about 10 minutes my friend and I plus 3 teens (my kids and a friend) were starving and Schnitzels was loud and crowded. We headed a few doors down to Sweet Mama's. Seated immediately. My friend and I shared the steak with penne dinner special and a Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My daughter ordered penne with butter off the kids menu. My son got a turkey burger and his friend got a grilled chicken sandwich on a hero instead of a wrap. Now the good -- portions were huge! My son could barely fit his burger in his mouth and it also had a half avocado on it. They didn't skimp. Steak with penne was delicious and so was the Cobb salad. We all shared off each other's plates because everything looked so amazing. Now the bad. My daughter's pasta was elbows, not penne as indicated on the menu. Not a catastrophe but she was looking forward to penne. Then - my son's friend put some ketchup on his plate for his fries. It was ,.. not red but brown. The bottle had an 8/25 expiration. We are in April 2026. We told the server and she said it's because it's the "simply ketchup" with no artificial dyes. She offered him ketchup packets "with fake dyes" but by that point he lost his appetite for fries. We grabbed ketchup from another table, same brand, Heinz Simply. You can see the difference in color. We showed the server and she acted annoyed. I told her we didn't want anyone getting sick on that ketchup and pointed out the expiration date. She rolled her eyes and said "oh I'll just throw it away." She kind of had an attitude and didn't even apologize. So that's why 4 stars. We'd go back but request not to have that server. The food is fantastic but watch your ketchup! If someone put it on a burger it would have been ruined.

Not terrible, but also not memorable…read more Sweet Mama's is a hybrid concept tucked away in the adorable Stony Brook Village. On one end, ice cream. In the middle, restaurant, and towards the back, a bar. Surprisingly at 11am, for a table of four, we waited about 10 mins for a table. We ordered a variety of things, from soup, to bennys and a mimosa flight. The mimosa flight was very cute but mine ended up tasting just like white wine. The real disappointment imo was the Belgian Waffle. Now I know, part of this is my fault, for expecting more than what the description laid out. But for $12 I got one crispy and tender waffle with powdered sugar and that was it. No side of fruit, no home fries, nothing. Everyone else enjoyed their food, which I was happy about! And service was wonderful. But for $12 for one waffle, this place may be a biiiiiiit overpriced for my liking.

My favorite was the Bubble Waffle Sundae, while my bf is always a fan of the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake. What really made the experience stand out was the people. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The owner was working in the shop when we visited, and he was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does.
