Recently met some friends for lunch here on my trip to Cortland. Was a nice surprise as the Friendly's in my area are gone. Easy to get to and park off 81. Seated right away by host, waitress was attentive, and helpful. Typical American food, salad, burgers, fries, and huge ice cream selection. Food came out fresh and hot, my quesadilla's and fries were incredible! Price was reasonable, will definitely be back when in the area, thanks for good meal. read more

Just the right spot for an early dinner for myself and my wife the service was good. The food was very good and it was a great price.

Terrible food. Dirty restaurant. Terrible service. I gag when I think about it. Reuben sandwich was nearly meatless. I showed it to the server and she nodded and then disappeared. Horrible visit. We ordered sundaes to go. We never got them. We waited and waited. We cashed out and still no sundaes to go. After waiting at the counter for over an hour we were told the sundaes had been made and given to someone they thought was with my group. They would not give us any sundaes and refused to return our money. I notified corporate and they offered 20% off a future visit. Terrible experience. I won't go back. read more

We had a very nice Sundae here. We ordered the Reese's pieces large Sundae and it didn't disappoint! Service was good, really nice people working there. I did get an Oreo "friend-z," which tasted good, but was a little disappointing. There were no Oreos to be seen, unlike the picture in menu. I think it was overly blended. First off, the overall experience at Friendly's is something everyone should enjoy. The Chicken Fajita quesadilla was outstanding. I felt like I was back in the streets of Tijuana. The grilled peppers and onions added I side was just the bit of perfection I needed. My personal favorite, mix the sour cream and salsa to a custom dip. read more

Service was terrible. I ordered 3 Sundaes online as I approached Cortland while traveling on Route 81. I was a half hour away when I placed the order and paid online. I arrived for my pickup at the time I was told my food would be ready at the pickup window. I checked in and the counter staff said to "be patient , they were running a little behind." I waited at the pickup counter as other customers arrived and were serviced around me. Customers continued to come and go as I waited. Counter staff would point at me periodically and ask if someone had taken my order. As an hour approached since I had initially checked in on my order, the original person that had spoken with me , returned and asked my name again. I told him my name again and repeated the pickup time I was given when I ordered online. The guy told me that he had already started my sundaes and thought he had left them on the counter unfinished. I asked where they were. He said he wasn't sure. He said he thought he had already made them. I told him that I had never gotten them and that I had stayed at the counter the entire time. He stated that he thinks he gave them to someone else. I told him that it wasn't fair that I paid almost $40 and I didn't get anything. He put his hands out to dismiss me and said therer was nothing he could do. I did file a complaint and contested the charge on my credit card but Credit card said Friendly's insisted that I had received my order. I was charged almost $40 and received nothing. Friendly's HQ offered me 20% off a future order but that isn't fair compensation. read more

Excellent food, service first class, it was great to find a Friendly's. Growing up in NE we have great memories of the Friendly places we visited, it's ice cream, it's unique offerings. We now live in Tacoma WA where a Friendly restaurant would be most welcomed. read more

Went in with my family for ice cream stood there for a good five minutes before we even saw an employee. A waitress walked out from the kitchen directly in front of us to deliver food to a table then right back to the kitchen not even acknowledging is either time. Then another waitress doing the same, but said she would be right with us on her walk back thru. A few more minutes passed so we just left. Not the 1st time this has happened. What a dump. While it was not busy and there was plenty if staff, we waited over half an hour for DRINKS. waitress forgot my soup and seemed hassled when I dare ask for it. $10 grilled cheese. Burnt bread but cheese not melted. Stale fries. Filthy dirty..couldn't wait to get out of there- it made my skin crawl. I ordered from Friendlys tonight and I am in utter disbelief at how rude the staff were. They threw our friendz into a bag, with the open tops and the bag got disgusting AND they were the wrong kinda of friendz. Didnt give us the marinara sauce for our mozzerella sticks and when we asked for some, the workers literally talked shit about us in front of us. Didnt give any spoons, straws, napkins. If there's an option for a zero star, I would put a big 0. Not a good place to go when you're on a road trip. We wanted something different from the regular fast food that we go to during a pit stop so we chose this place. We have been seated for 15mins and not 1 server (there were 3) came to our table to even get our drinks let alone our order. I've been to this restaurant three times because it's convenient for my drive from the Hudson Valley to Ontario every week. Food is ok, basic Friendly's menu. Service is not great. The one thing I can't stand is being ignored. I come in and stand for five minutes while several employees walk by me, ignore me, and walk back to the kitchen. No one says, someone will be right with you, they just walk by. When some one finally notices me (same bunch who walked by before), I finally get seated. Then I get the same treatment while I wait for my waitress to finally show up. The wait staff walk by my table without acknowledging me. No water, no coffee order. If they were busy, I could live with it. The restaurant is usually only half full. I have to wait a while for my meal, and I usually have had to wait to catch someone's eye for the check ... Just letting you know ... I have to find someplace else to grab a bite to eat! read more

She immediately snapped at my kids and I and said " what do you think I was going to do??" I tried to order food for delivery to a hotel a couple of times from this Freindlies. Both times it was a failure. While they charged me full price. DoorDash takes care of the financials, they gave me credit for what was missing, thanks for that. But right now, after waiting for 40 mins for my food, from a restaurant which is 5 min walk from the motel I got only ice cream. And by now all the other places have closed. Being an experienced traveler I always keep some food for emergency. So my dinner tonight is going to be Chicken noodle soup for $0.89 from Walgreens. read more

We left a $5 on the table for the tea I had and walked out. No communication from the waitress. I could see food piling up under the heat lamp and nothing being brought out to tables. Very cute place still use none computer system to record the table. They are across the street by Denny's but this place is much better service and comfortable with privacy. Food are in good portion if you want to leave space for desert. Price are very reasonable and food are great. Recommended!! read more

Just had dinner and dessert here!! So gooooooddddd! Seriously wanted to save room for ice cream so hubs and I shared a munchie mania appetizer, sliders, loaded waffle fries and mini mozz sticks!! AMAZING! The waffle fries were to die for! I could have eaten a bucket full!! Service was great also and gave a small town diner feel! We got a chocolate fribble (aka milkshake) was delish! My wife and I used to go to this Friendlies or the other one in town several times a year for a nice plain American meal with a friendly atmosphere and decent service. A year or two ago the chain management decided to have a HUGE makeover of the look and feel of the decor and it went from a warm, friendly, family chain-restaurant to a nasty, cold, sterile, ugly place that we went to once and are never, ever, going back. That one time that we went after the make-over, our next door neighbor was with us. I frequently would order a hamburger at Friendlies and I did this time. Because both at Friendlies and at other places I often have GREAT difficulty getting a hamburger with no cheese on it, I am always very emphatic and repetitive when placing that order. I try to make a bit of a joke of it, asking for just the burger, bun, and bacon and NO cheese and then saying something like. "Now, just so we're clear, I want the burger, the bun and the bacon, and NO cheese. I don't want any special sauce, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, cheese, onions, relish, mayonnaise, or cheese. In particular I don't want any cheese." Our neighbor clearly thought I was seriously overdoing it, and she was astounded when they brought me a burger with cheese. The waitress was clearly abashed, but this kind of incompetence never surprises me. Despite the cheese on my burger, I would have recommended the old Friendlies with 4 stars, but the make-over just trashed the place. I go here quite often just because of the location convenience. However, I agree with the other people's comments that the service could be better. They seem short staffed or something. It does take a while to be seated and the manager, I believe, acts like he hates his job. I always use coupons and they promoted ordering online so I did. I get in to pick it up and told him the coupon didn't work online. He said well I could make it work if you didn't order online. Then proceeds to complain about us ordering online. read more
