The owner of this shop also owns the new location of Friendly Nails on Hanes Mall Blvd. Since I cannot directly post to that shop, I will post here. I had a 5:30 pm this evening for pedicure and nails which means my appt. time would be lengthy. I was put to a pedicure chair with hot water and sat there until 6 pm when I got up and walked to the front and asked what I owed. The people doing pedicures had new clients they were working on and no one at the nail stations was coming to assist. They had NO regard for my time. It's not my problem if you take walk-ins. Walk-ins should be worked in around your appts. The manager of that store is pretty rude - in all 3 conversations I've had with him on 3 different appts. Big bummer - it's a gorgeous, clean shop but good customer service needs to be a priority! read more

I love this place. Leon is the best of the best there! I had been with my manicurist back home for 20 years. When I moved here it was hard for me to find someone I liked and trusted like I had mine back home. A friend recommended Friendly Nails. I went the first time and had them done with Leon, also recommended, and was thrilled. Fast, friendly, professional and awesome manicure. I was thrilled! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SPA! Before guests arrive they are visibly annoyed, making rude remarks and unprofessional comments about guests walking in because they are tired and want to go home. Nail techs have such bad energy. Not a relaxing experiencing at all. Techs are pushy with service suggestions. I asked for dip and was pressured to have acrylic applied to my nails in order to get a specific look which was unnecessary. My French pedicure came out okay. I had to critique the techs who did my mani and pedi. Nail tech used too much acrylic on one had, my nails were too thick and uneven which I constantly had her file down multiple times and had to go back and forth with her about what I wanted and ensuring the designs were applied correctly, mirroring the other hand. My daughter and I visited today and the experience was very disappointing. Although we had an appointment, we waited an hour to be serviced. The technician that did my daughter's nails was not pleasant and did not do a very good job. So much that someone re-did them! I came to get a pedicure and I was told the wait was 15. I picked my color and I was sent back to my chair and waited another 45 minutes. Finally a man came to do my pedi. He started to trim my nails and cut my toe open with his tool. I'm now bleeding everywhere and he's yelling in a different language for help. I am freaking out and then he covers my foot with a dirty towel. I'm surrounded by four different techs yelling at each other and I'm trying to get up to leave. The owner is begging me not to leave and says that I should finish my pedicure for free. I am walking out to my car BAREFOOT and I'm followed out by the owner. Went to have my nails done SNS style with a design in them. I even showed them a picture before we even got started and they said they could do it. Well I must have gotten a student cause he couldn't do any design. Manager walks over and she to couldn't do the design. Very disappointed! Been there several times before and always left happy. I haven't been to Friendly Nails since pre-Covid. I thought I would do something nice for myself since I'm going away for a birthday trip. I got a manicure and a pedicure. I decided on gel because I like gel. I know it usually should take 45 minutes. It took 20 minutes. I felt rushed through the whole thing and didn't feel relaxed at all. My pedicure was rushed as well. I thought I would be getting the Tropical pedicure but it only involved a scrub and lotion and not the paraffin wax. He proclaimed he would do extra massaging and he barely did that. When the experience was over, he said it would be $90. When I got the receipt back it said $80. I had already given him a cash tip think it was $90. (I always tip 20%, because times are tough). I looked at my bank statement today and it said $90. I don't know if he gave himself an extra tip on my card. I spent over a $100 and my feet are still scaly and my fingernails look like a child painted them. I will not be returning. read more

First time in Winston Salem getting my nails done and it was a good outcome. I got a pedicure and they take their time and make you feel relaxed. I loved the hot stone as it's my favorite. Then I got a manicure with SNS done by the owner Kevin and I fell in love with his work as I only wanted him to do my nails because they didn't break and last me 4 weeks in good condition. The job was well done, but there is average of a minimal 30-45 mins wait I was there for over two hours. If you don't tell them you need to go soon, it can take longer. Seams that if you go regularly, they fit you in sooner: in fact a lady who came after me (walk in but she greeted the owner), was serviced sooner. While I was getting my pedicure, the lady working in my feet, interrupted the job three times (the first time she left for over 15 mins!), until I asked her why so many distractions? LOVE this place!!! I only get pedicures because my job doesnt allow fake nails but this is the BEST nail salon around town!!! The staff is always friendly and they dont make you feel out of place like some salons do. The pedicures are amazing!! They really pay attention to details here and offer parafin wax or hot stone massage with the pedicures! You also get hot towel leg massage!! The deluxe pedicure is only $25 and it is well worth it!! I hardly ever get professional pedicures because I work in the professional beauty industry and know the things that can happen to make people very sick from unclean supplies and equipment. I chose this salon for a pedicure because I got a postcard in the mail for 15% off and I needed professional toes for an upcoming work VIP event. When we arrived, I was happy to see the screens removed from the thrones for cleaning and the fact that it wasn't a circulating jet, meaning there was no chance of skin and hair and nails in the pipes. HOWEVER....someone else posted a picture of the "disinfected" implements in the autoclave bags. It's perfect for the stainless steel tools; the buffers and files, however, cannot be sanitized as they are POROUS. State board mandates that they be discarded after each patron, but somehow the owners here think we are stupid enough to think they are protecting us. And the cheese grater that they use for callouses? That wasn't in the autoclave. Service was horrible. I told them I was allergic to latex (which why do they use that to do pedicures anyway, since the feet are coming out of soapy water. Not so with hands but they don't use them for manicures....but I digress....) so I sat with my feet in the water until my daughter's service was almost done while they tried to find someone to do it without gloves and the water turned to ice cold. They didn't offer us drinks, but when we asked for one, they told us they had regular coke only. I asked for diet, they said they didn't have it. Guess what they served to the next customer who came in after us? Bizarre. When we went to pay, they informed me I could use the 15% off only for one pedicure. Seriously? It was only about a $3 savings, certainly not enough for me to get upset about in its own right, but also not enough to risk losing a customer. When I told them I'd leave my feedback on "yelp," they said, "that's fine." and walked away. We wouldn't come back if it was free. Sidenote: Scrubbing bubbles, the standard for cleaning a pedicure basin in these types of establishments, does not kill Hepatitis or AIDS. Putting porous implements in an autoclave doesn't kill hepatitis or AIDS. Not cleaning the cheese grater in the autoclave doesn't kill hepatitis or AiDS. And for the record, manicurists are not licensed to wax in the state of North Carolina. Yet in spite of my inspection of the 15 or so licenses on the wall, all were for manicurists and they have a big blinking sign that advertises "waxing," in the window. Probably only a matter of time until that makes someone very sick too. read more

This is the only nail place I go to. The staff are friendly and meticulous. I have never had a bad mani or pedi here. They have recently expanded due to business increase. They even call if they haven't seen you in a while! Make sure to get a stamp card after 10 services you get a percentage off. They have plenty of choices in colors and types of polish. Well I didn't think making appointment would cause me to wait a whole entire hour for services. I wasn't started until 4:30pm and another lady started complaining about time and that she had been waiting for a while (which she had, but not as long as me) and the lady doing my pedicure left me midway and went to her. I am not a fan of this place. I've been coming here for years but recently there has been a very poor job done. I got SNS and tips and THREE came off within 1 week?!?!? That's ridiculous when I used to go it would last 4 weeks! I went recently and wanted some ombré nails and some glitter. I am not happy with them. I am going to have them redone elsewhere tomorrow they are so bad. I had exact photos of what I wanted and was told it was easily doable. I was there for 2 hours and they still look awful. I didn't have to wait for a long time but different people worked on me. Really I was fine with it. One worker was very nice in speaking with me but she was not happy having to remove my nail polish. I've been going to Friendly Nails for years. The honest truth is that sometimes I get a good mani and sometimes not. If it's busy they rush. They have good products and a clean salon and are definitely friendly but it's hit or miss. I've made appointments and still had to wait 30+ minutes. Which is super annoying. I got SNS. I picked out a light color, not sheer. In fact I pick this color a lot. It is supposed to have glitter in it. Everything is fine but the polish is so thin I can see my natural nail. It took him close to 20 min to take off my old SNS which was not done there and had been on over 2 wks. No worries about getting this off. I don't know how long it will last. It glimmers in the sunlight. I'm not trying to bash the salon, which was nice, but I don't stick my hand out for a glimmer effect. I would return out of convenience, but do prefer the product I get from other salons. He was a nice gentleman & I didn't have to wait.
