Unfortunately, this appointment fell well below that standard. I was originally quoted $80 for a Gel-X set, but once I arrived I was told there would be an additional $10 charge just to remove my existing Gel-X. From there, nearly every option came with another surcharge. Glitter was an additional charge, and placing the glitter at the base of the nail instead of the tip increased the price even further. The pricing structure felt confusing and constantly changing, making it difficult to know what the final cost would be. After hearing the additional charges, I decided against getting a new set and paid $45 for a manicure after the Gel-X removal. For $45, I expected my natural nails to leave looking polished and professionally finished. Instead, I left with: * Jagged, uneven nail edges that were not properly filed * Visible product residue still left on multiple nails * Uneven nail surfaces * Dry, unfinished cuticles * Nails that looked incomplete rather than professionally manicured I took photos immediately after leaving because I couldn't believe this was the finished result. The service itself was also disappointing. My technician, Annie, repeatedly stopped working on my nails to answer phone calls and attend to other matters. The appointment felt interrupted and rushed instead of relaxing. A manicure should feel calm and focused. This did not. The salon also raised concerns for me. The supply/storage area visible to customers was cluttered and disorganized, and I observed nail files being reused, which made me question the sanitation standards. Even checkout was frustrating. I wanted to leave a tip for the technician who performed my pedicure because she did a nice job, but the payment process made it difficult to direct the gratuity to the correct person. The biggest disappointment is that none of these issues should exist regardless of the price. Whether a manicure costs $25 or $45, customers should leave with nails that are smoothly filed, free of leftover product, and professionally finished. Those are basic expectations--not luxury extras. I left feeling disappointed, overcharged, and with nails that I could have filed more carefully at home myself. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this salon.

Sadly, Superco and Ocean Star are both gone, but rising from the ashes is a bunch of fun stuff, like Smoking Tiger and this jumbo-sized nail salon next door, Magical Nails. Nothing too magical about it, but this busy salon has about 10,000 polish shades to choose from, and a printed menu with prices so you know what you're getting and how much it will be. All the salon chairs have the back massage function which kills two birds with one stone. Easy parking right in front, walk-ins welcome, and no waiting for your mani-pedi. I stuck my nose in to have a look, and was getting beautified just a few moments later. Minus one star for some unnecessary upselling, and a sour face from the greeter when I declined. But a free bottle of water cheered me up. Would I go back? Yes.

I ended up messaging Trulycure for an update and didn't get an answer. A lady showed up about 5-10 minutes later to open the door, asked if I needed a pedicure and then to sit down on one of the chairs. Now the chairs were really nice, but did not have a built in spa. She had to bring over a tub of water. I wasn't asked which pedicure service I want (I later saw there were multiple options on their menu) and asked me what color I wanted. Andrew had walked in while I was getting my pedicure done. He worked on removing my old set of gelx that I got done elsewhere and put a new set (he did an excellent job at this). I opted for a cat eye effect on my nails since he mentioned there is a promotion at the time. I thought Trulycure is somewhere I want to go back to but after reflecting on my experience of waiting without any communication they were going to be tardy, pedicure gal cutting my toe nails oddly to the point where my big toe nail is growing out not the way I like and the cat eye not being a cat eye (looks like a layer of glitter polish applied), I was completely ready to go back to my usual place.

He started measure gel x tips and I had to remind him we were doing acrylic. He should have said that he cannot do acrylic because, he cannot do acrylic. It was some of the worst acrylic application I have ever seen in my life. Sloppy, lazy, trash. I should have got up after seeing his acrylic application on my first hand. That's my fault. When he was done filing I asked if he could even out the nails because they were lumpy. He proceeded to make the shape even worse and still lumpy. I asked if I should wash my hands after filing (every shop I have ever gone to in my life has told me to) and he said no. I should have stopped him here too. It took him an hour and a half just to put the acrylic on. At this point I realized he was either talentless or purposely messy my nails up. So I skipped the nail art I asked for and asked just for plain gel polish on top. At the end I told the lady at the front that I hated my nails and showed her and she understood and told me I could come back and have someone else fix them. Initially I accepted the offer but I have since canceled the appointment. I would rather die than trust this shop ever again. If I could give Jay 0 stars I would. Beware, this guy is horrible.

I no longer go here, and my last visit was the final straw. The last time I came in, the technician, Cici, was visibly annoyed while doing my nails because it was around 6:30-7:00 PM and close to closing time. My nails were not painted correctly, and when I asked her to fix them, it felt like she didn't want to. As a paying customer, I shouldn't feel like I'm inconveniencing someone for asking that the service be done properly. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated issue. The quality of the nail work has been inconsistent, and I've had my nail polish chip multiple times shortly after appointments. On top of that, the customer service is lacking. The staff almost always seems uninterested, do a mediocre job, and still expect high tips. Tips should reflect good service and quality work as well as friendliness. It's called friendly nails but they aren't friendly. how ironic! I will not be returning. It's disappointing because finding a nail salon with both excellent customer service and consistent quality seems harder than it should be. I hope management takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving both the experience and the quality of the services provided. read more

I don't often leave reviews but Friendly Nails really deserves the praise! I have been coming here for about a year, and I have been consistently impressed with their kindness and skill. Today I had the pleasure of having Karen as my nail tech, who was so accommodating and patient (even though I was running late). She matched my nails to the inspo pic I provided and also let me try on a few different colors to help me decide! I've only had amazing experiences here - my friends had Queenie and Yuli for their techs today, and their nails turned out SO gorgeous as well. I've also been a regular of Cici's too, who is also extremely meticulous! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of work they provide, and somehow the nails always last me so long (my last set hung on for 7 weeks and wasn't even peeling when I came back in today, just super grown out)! They even took extra care in sealing our nails after realizing that we have to wash our hands frequently at work. Truly cannot recommend these ladies enough, and I'm so grateful to have found them :) read more

I went to Friendly Nails today and they did an amazing job! They didn't hurt me at all, which is a big deal because I've had bad experiences before. I absolutely love my Gel X nails from friendly nails! Ella was super detailed and took her time to make sure every nail was shaped perfectly. Extremely sweet btw. The process was a bit long, but totally worth it -- you can really see the care and precision in the final result. I already be here over 1 year and stick with nail artist Kiki over 3 years. I like their taste and technique, every 2-3 months I will do one time, course the gel is very good and can last at least 2 months even though I do the house work. Every 2-3 months I will be here do my nails by nail artist Kiki, even though I need to drive more than 30mins but I think it's worthy to do that. After I do my nail it will keep more than 2 months, compared with other nail store only keep 3-4 weeks. I like their glu gel and design for my nail. read more

After waiting more than 20 minutes without any updates, I politely asked when I could expect to be seen. The employees began speaking among themselves, but no one provided me with an answer. I asked again if they could please let me know approximately what time I would be attended to. One of the employees smiled and responded, "Until 2 p.m., or you come back tomorrow?" Thinking there had been some confusion and that she may have mistaken me for another customer, I explained that I had a 12:30 appointment. She replied, "I know, sorry," and then laughed about the situation. The issue was not the wait itself, it was the lack of communication, disregard for my scheduled appointment, and the unprofessional response when I asked for clarification. If the salon was running behind schedule, a simple explanation and realistic wait time would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, this experience left a very poor first impression. I'm astonished that they're all remarkably still in business, but I suppose some customers have their spots. Or maybe some folks get their nails done every week? Who knows. As for Judy's Nails, I have to say it is a salon with no peers. Pardon the facetiousness, but I am not exaggerating. Despite its modest interior and strategically positioned fans during the summertime, I will go here to get my usual mani pedi over the ritziest massage chairs and spa grade foot tubs. What puts them over the rest is the quality and prices. They're cash only so that allows them the competitive prices. They also take Zelle so you don't have to fumble in your wallet post manicure for cash. I usually get polishes with fun colors so I don't bother with gel, so I can take it off within a few weeks or so. Every single tech there (Tina and April come to mind but there's also two more whose names escape me at the moment) can polish my fingernails and toe nails and dry them in 45 min flat, with nary any texture on the nail surface. They also can do the artificial nail, tips, gel, and powder and other aesthetician services I haven't tried. On top of the great work, it's served with a smile. It's like going to a family party. You lowkey get a mini therapy sesh while they massage your feet, hands, and forearms. What really touches me is that they don't push extra services on you. The customer service is the real icing on the cake. As I write this review I'm already planning to go back, so word of warning to call for an appointment as they can take only walk ins if you time it right. And that already tells you enough about them as it is.

Unfortunately, this appointment fell well below that standard. I was originally quoted $80 for a Gel-X set, but once I arrived I was told there would be an additional $10 charge just to remove my existing Gel-X. From there, nearly every option came with another surcharge. Glitter was an additional charge, and placing the glitter at the base of the nail instead of the tip increased the price even further. The pricing structure felt confusing and constantly changing, making it difficult to know what the final cost would be. After hearing the additional charges, I decided against getting a new set and paid $45 for a manicure after the Gel-X removal. For $45, I expected my natural nails to leave looking polished and professionally finished. Instead, I left with: * Jagged, uneven nail edges that were not properly filed * Visible product residue still left on multiple nails * Uneven nail surfaces * Dry, unfinished cuticles * Nails that looked incomplete rather than professionally manicured I took photos immediately after leaving because I couldn't believe this was the finished result. The service itself was also disappointing. My technician, Annie, repeatedly stopped working on my nails to answer phone calls and attend to other matters. The appointment felt interrupted and rushed instead of relaxing. A manicure should feel calm and focused. This did not. The salon also raised concerns for me. The supply/storage area visible to customers was cluttered and disorganized, and I observed nail files being reused, which made me question the sanitation standards. Even checkout was frustrating. I wanted to leave a tip for the technician who performed my pedicure because she did a nice job, but the payment process made it difficult to direct the gratuity to the correct person. The biggest disappointment is that none of these issues should exist regardless of the price. Whether a manicure costs $25 or $45, customers should leave with nails that are smoothly filed, free of leftover product, and professionally finished. Those are basic expectations--not luxury extras. I left feeling disappointed, overcharged, and with nails that I could have filed more carefully at home myself. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this salon.

They pay so much attention to detail and always take their time to make sure everything looks perfect. I'm also super indecisive sometimes, and they're always willing to help me choose a design, colors, or little details that they think will look best. I trust them so much that I've brought my mom, best friend, and boyfriend here too! Their prices are very reasonable, especially considering how intricate their designs can be, the quality of the products they use, and the amount of time and effort they put into every set. The salon is also always clean and well-kept, which I really appreciate. After 7 years, this is still my go-to nail salon. If you love detailed, unique nails and want people who genuinely care about their work, I definitely recommend coming here.

I hold my breath, and let them know I understood everything they said. Also, the french tip on my fingers were bad, have them remove. Just leave the basic nail gel polish. No, I will never come back even if it was free. Unethical business practices. The old lady is the worst.

Based on my experience today, I'm super happy with my choice, and I think I've found my new nail person. Specifically, it was raining today, and it's a holiday weekend, so I was the only one in the shop. Parking was outside the front door on the curb, too. Qing did my pedicure (I got her by chance), and she was so meticulous and thorough, my toes looked and felt great afterward! The end result was such an improvement from a place I've gone to a few times down the street (thank you, Qing!), and this place is a little more affordable. All of this is to say, I didn't experience any of the chaos or confusion that I read about in the other reviews after my visit. I feel like I lucked out. Based on my experience and the other reviews, my recommendation is to try and come on a day and time that is less hectic. Ask for Qing or another technician who's called out by name in the reviews. I definitely plan to come back again and ask for Qing for my pedicures going forward.

The work itself isn't bad but I definitely see some small flaws when I look closely. But nonetheless, this was a good experience.
