I booked with Trulycure when I was on a hiatus with my regular nail place. I did show up a few minutes early to my appointment since it was my first time and I also wasn't sure how parking was. My appointment time came and the salon was still closed (I just want to note that my appointment time was 30 minutes after their opening time) and I was waiting outside, unsure if I should just leave or wait. I ended up messaging Trulycure for an update and didn't get an answer. A lady showed up about 5-10 minutes later to open the door, asked if I needed a pedicure and then to sit down on one of the chairs. Now the chairs were really nice, but did not have a built in spa. She had to bring over a tub of water. I wasn't asked which pedicure service I want (I later saw there were multiple options on their menu) and asked me what color I wanted. Andrew had walked in while I was getting my pedicure done. He worked on removing my old set of gelx that I got done elsewhere and put a new set (he did an excellent job at this). I opted for a cat eye effect on my nails since he mentioned there is a promotion at the time. I thought Trulycure is somewhere I want to go back to but after reflecting on my experience of waiting without any communication they were going to be tardy, pedicure gal cutting my toe nails oddly to the point where my big toe nail is growing out not the way I like and the cat eye not being a cat eye (looks like a layer of glitter polish applied), I was completely ready to go back to my usual place. read more

Very friendly and great service, my manicurist was very meticulous and made sure everything was to my liking - I really appreciate that and she was gentle with my hands. I found this studio last year and have been only going here to get my manis and pedis. It's a studio with two great artists. Its super clean and very conveniently located. So let me start off by saying this place is a 10/10 in every category. Andrew was amazing his customer service is Top Tier! I have been to many many nails salons in my lifetime and his customer service is what will bring me back for more. In the beginning I was not sure what I wanted as far as design and I had told Andrew that I wanted to do Gel C nails but ombré but was super sad because another salon had told me that was not possible. Andrew said oh it is possible and he made it happen. They came out beautifully. He was very kind, professional, and attentive. The vibe inside the salon was very cute and intimate. Andrew I will be back again, although I live in the IE and work in the LA area I would drive here for his service and conversation. I came to visit my college friends in LA (from DC) for the week and was sent here on their recommendation. It's a relatively new establishment and has a modern and simple decor. It was also really easy to make an appt - I just called an hour beforehand. I'm so grateful to fellow yelpers pointing out where to park (in the free parking structure on Second Ave off Main)! And how it's down the alley next to tasty pot. That was so helpful!!! Then I got the complimentary hot tea and started soaking my feet while waiting for the ladies to finish up their previous client. So I came on a Wednesday and they have a happy hour special for pedi for $5 off if you come before 3pm (just one more day though!!). There are several types of pedis to choose from. I got the sugar scrub with the added hot stone massage for $40. The regular is $30. It doesn't add any extra time apparently. I listened to an ebook here and there while she was working on them. I got the base layer and two coats of #38. The clean up was so innovative (to me) - she took acetone with a paint brush and went around to touch it up. Then the finishing coat to end. The total time was about 35 min from start to finish. Then "wait a little bit" for it to dry and set before leaving. I can see why my friend recommended this place!! I would want to return too!! Next time! Too bad I live across the country, but so happy to get so cared for here on this trip. read more

This place is an unassuming pleasurable experience. It's a small shop, hidden in an alleyway. I saw big comfy chairs in place of salon chairs. So, I started off a bit hesitant. I was warmly welcomed, directed to my chair, offered beverages, and taken care of immediately. I felt like I was I good hands (not the norm for me; I'm usually very watchful for any details that techs seems to overlook). I was comfortable enough to actually rest and just let them do their thing. I got the manicure for natural nails and deep moisturizing for my pedicure, all with regular nail polish. I only had to explain the shape of my nails that I wanted once. I did asked for a bit harder of a leg massage, more care on my heal callouses, and as soon as my pedicure tech realized the stones were too hot for me, she did everything she could to make it more comfortable while maintaining heat. From my manicure tech, I noticed there was some excess dry skin and had some straggling nail bits and lint in my polish. She took care of it without any fuss. She was very sweet and tended to the issue until she knew I felt good about the outcome. They both kept a watchful eye over me as my polish dried continuing to let me lounge there until I was ready to go (small miscommunication was that I was waiting for them to tell me I was dry, and they just let me nap and rest until I was ready to leave, continuing to offer me some options for refreshing drinks - SO SWEET). Such a cute location right across from Afters on main. Parking is right behind in a structure. I called at 11 am and was able to get a same day appt for 2pm. Very quick to answer and super nice. I always call the salon I'm interested in going to before hand to make sure there is room. I know some locations take drop ins but I don't like waiting and I know sometimes there really isn't much room to squeeze someone in. I went for a gel pedicure. Super clean stations and loved the chair and how the chair had wide arm rest so you don't have yo worry about dropping anything. Great selection of gel colors. The prices are also really decent and always expect to pay more for a gel pedicure. the gel last so much longer on my toes and you never smudge them on your way out. I did. add a manicure after the pedicure which was really nice and my nails are so clean and pretty. Great aesthetic. Everyone was super nice. Great prices. Definitely coming back!!!!!! read more
