I've been consistently coming to Friendly Nails for the last few years. I usually call first thing in the morning to check their availability for the same day & if it's too busy I'll ask to book an appointment for the next day or future date. All of the nail techs are great! I request for Cici when I want to do cat-eye or more simple gel manicures. If I want more artsy designs, I'll usually request for Ella or Karen. Gel manis are still $45, with full cat-eye adding an additional $15. Hand drawn art design nails may add between $4-6 per nail, depending on the design; while if you're okay with stickers, it may be $2-3/each. More intricate nail designs will require more time & cost more depending on what it is -- so I would inform them if this is something you want to do so they can allot the right amount of time for your booking. I typically spend about 1.5-2 hours to get my nails done (including removing the previous months' nails, nail trimming, shaping, cuticles, etc.) As stated before: Easy parking in the First St. structure behind the shop. Restroom available in the back of the store & always clean. They also do have bottled water, if needed. read more

I chose this place to get my nails done for my engagement. I showed her a picture and my only request was to change the color from pink to silver. I ended up getting nothing like the picture. When I tried to ask her to make changes she looked put out and barely corrected them. She eventually just gave up on drawing a heart and put a sticker on which at the beginning she asked if I wanted and I said no. I paid way too much to be this upset about them. 10/10 experience!! They were kind enough to let me come in last minute and my nail tech was the best! She was so patient, gentle, meticulous and very thorough with my nails. My previous nail tech completely messed up my nails and so i had tons of tiny cracks at the base of my nail growth but my nail tech here cleaned up my nails very nicely and applied a hard gel to protect my real nails as they grow out. The material of their hard gel is really nice compared to other ones ive tried. Anyway i didnt get her name but she was wearing glasses. I would go back again, but only if I was planning to spend that type of money, I could find other places that are a little bit cheaper and they do more like more designs for sure and their French tip is not too pricey. Visiting from out of town so went here based on reviews, and they did not disappoint! We had an appointment at 1pm on a Monday but they were able to accomodate us 15 minutes early. From entering to leaving, we received amazing customer service! All the nail techs were super kind and welcoming. After cutting and cleaning, they ask you to double check their work and ensure you are happy with the shape before they begin applying the polish. The prices are also very fair at $30 for regular pedicure and $55 for a gel pedicure with gel removal. They stated that if you are a returning customer, they do not charge for gel removal. There is a free parking garage behind the salon. The bathroom is very clean. There is also a lot to do around the salon, so it's a great place to go if you just want to take a stroll, go shopping, or eat nearby! I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

I had called to request a same day appointment for a gel pedicure and was seen by Karen. She was super kind and made sure to check in with me every step of the pedicure process. Karen was extremely detail oriented and took the time to go back in multiple times (without me asking) to make my toes look perfect! She was also very patient and even took the time to try out multiple shades of polish on my toes to make sure I liked the color I chose. The korean/japanese gel selections here are also massive, I would highly recommend selecting the cateye polish and add design (where they use the magnet) as it reflects beautifully off the nails. If you're looking for a new go-to nail spot in Alhambra I would 100% suggest Friendly Nails! They accept Zelle and also give you a stamp card at the end of your visit. You receive $10 off your 5th visit and $20 off your 10th visit! There's also a parking structure behind the salon where you can park for free, and it generally has spaces open. I try to get a pedicure once a month to keep my feet in good shape, and this was my first visit to Friendly Nails in Alhambra. We called ahead to confirm availability, and they were ready when we arrived. Parking was easy, with a lot right behind the building. I was seated immediately, and the technician had the water ready to go. She checked on the water temperature (which was perfect), adjusted my chair to a comfortable setting, and turned on the massage function--a nice touch. The nail tech was kind and efficient, and while we didn't chat much, she was focused and professional. My request is pretty simple: clean up, trim, and paint my nails black--nothing fancy. She handled it well and was especially careful with the polish application, which I appreciated. She also gave me a short calf massage, which was a bit lackluster. I've had better at other places, but I don't consider that a must-have part of the service--it was fine, just not memorable. When we wrapped up, she helped me get my sandals back on, and I paid $30 via Zelle, plus a $10 tip. The vibe was relaxed. A TV screen played YouTube music videos, mostly peaceful nature visuals with calming music. Only small annoyance was when the ads came on, and no one was able to hit skip--so we all just sat through them together. All the nail attendants were very attentive. They don't rush through things but really take time to clean and very gentle, too! I had an ingrown and my attendant was so gentle and stopped if any pain occurred. Keep in mind I have not a mani/pedi in at least a year. So, after speaking with Sharon I made my appointment. The salon is nice , extremely clean and organized, and modern. All the nail techs are nice /professional and they listen to clients request as I like my nails short/square and I receive what I asked for. Friendly nails provides different nail type services (American or Japanese gel, or traditional etc) so there are options for all different tastes or preferences for clients. Parking is located in the back of the salon in a (parking structure) that is free of charge and the salon is directly across from the movie theater and local restaurants in Alhambra. Been here twice so far and it's been a good experience both times! Expect to spend some time here if you do gel mani and pedi because the nail techs are very meticulous and thorough. It takes about 2-3 hours for both gel mani and pedi from removal to painting. I've had Miao for the first visit in August. She was superb! For my second visit, I had Jessie and Ella for mani and I am very happy with the results! Both ladies are friendly and accommodating! Jessie helped remove and prep my nails and Ella polished and executed the design. I also had someone else do my toes (didn't catch her name). I've been to places that get you in and out quickly, but often do a very sloppy job. Here, I am satisfied with both the quality of the work and quality of the products! I would recommend calling in to book an appointment to secure your time & ensure that there's enough personnel around. Starting prices are fair. Been coming here for a year now, and love their manicure and pedicure service, especially with their Japanese gel option! Unfortunately, today's appointment was quite frustrating, solely due to the stamp card they offer. Long story short, I made an appointment in late November and forgot my card, so Cici, my favorite nail tech, said she would just add it to my card during my next appointment, which was today. Time has gone by, so I understand that maybe she had forgotten what she said, but they did not honor that and said that normally they ask customers to purchase a new card and then ask to combine the stamps to receive the rewards after a number of services. She told Sharon that she gave me a new stamp card - obviously not the case since I only have my one stamp card and never forgot what she said to me about just adding the stamp at my next appointment. They claimed that they gave me a new card? Said that I should just ask for a new card if I forget to bring it to my appointment. But I wasn't offered that because of what Cici had told me. Anyways, if you forget your card and come here often, just buy the card. I would have bought it back in November if they told me straight up.
