Amazing service. I called this morning to get an appointment and they had a cancellation so they were able to squeeze me in. Right away they offered me water, coffee, and a little snack. I got gel manicure and Jenn really paid attention to detail, normally the places I go to I end up leaving with my gel being bumping and rough as they are just trying to get me out of the chair as fast as they can, but Jenn took her time and would wipe the gel is it wasn't being applied nicely. I've been coming to Nail Star VK for a couple of months now. I've been consistently pleased with the service here. Vicky (owner) and her nail tech (Anna I think?) are both great! The first time I had Vicky as my nail tech. I had just come back from Japan and got my nails done in Japan and fell in love. I searched everywhere to find a good nail salon nearby that does Japanese gel (something about their formula lasts longer than regular gel and is supposedly better for your nails but I never fact checked that) and I was happy to find Nail Star VK on Yelp. She was able to help me execute exactly what I wanted from a photo I gave her - pink marbling with gold. The second time I came, I did a mani and pedi so I had a different nail tech for my pedi but Vicky again for my Japanese gel mani. She also did a great job with my nails this time with a pink seashell with gold flakes design. The third time I came, I believe I got Anna(?) as my nail tech. She was very good and thorough with the job but I wanted these crystals applied onto my nails this time. Not even one week after I left, some of the crystals popped off my nail! I immediately texted Vicky photos of what happened and she worked with me to come back in so they can be replaced. Although I was sad that my nails were not perfect during my vacation (I did them right before I left), I was really appreciative that she scheduled me in on NYE's as soon as I got back from vacation to get them fixed before my party that night! The most recent time I came, Anna(?) was my nail tech again and she did a great job with what I wanted yet again - red and gold with cat's eye. Every time I get my nails done here, I am always pleased with the results and get many compliments from my friends. Even though the shop isn't fancy or anything, Vicky and her team work hard and have a lot of designs to choose from and the service is always good. Vicky continues to be extremely kind, talented, and patient. She skips her lunch and breaks when projects need more time. She's so incredibly accommodating and works so hard to fit you into her day-all while working on her customers nails at the same time! She always has a fun Netflix show going in the background if you want to veg out. I go to her to beautify my nails before every major photography session lol. She's done my nails for my bridal shower, my wedding, other people's weddings, baby shower, birthdays, vacations, etc. I trust no one else! Make appointments by instagram messenger. She's very quick about responding and often asks if you'll want a design. She'll quote you a price--if you need a reminder just ask! It's always helpful to send pics of what you're envisioning. I'll literally pull up cartoons and ask her if it's possible and she always does her best! I always have shorter nails, and I get the gel mani pedi. It usually costs me from $100-160 depending on the designs. She takes her time and is truly such an amazing artist! My first time with Vicky was about 3 weeks ago and let me just say I LOVE her work! My mani is still IMMACULATE and my nails are growing super fast! I got the hard gel overlay with a hot pink color! When it comes to her color selection, she literally has EVERY color you could imagine. I think this was the best my nails have ever looked! She truly is an artist that takes pride in her work. This place is appointment only but I was able to call I'm right when they opened and got a same day appointment on a Sunday. Got my nails by Vicky, I tried to make an appointment with her the same day. Even though it was such a short notice. She called me back and accommodated me and let me know she was available. I don't mind spending the extra money to get her skills and techniques onto my nails. She does nothing but the best to take care of your nails. I've always admired her talents. It's irreplaceable. Upon entering, this nail shop is small, quaint and cute with 2 spa chairs for pedicures and 2 spots at a desk for manicures. There is a small cute couch with books or boxes of nail colors to choose from. There are the same colors for gel and regular, because the company they use provide the same color for both. It's convenient to choose from the sample plastic key chain thing for color instead of looking at the bottles. The employees were super courteous and took their time to do a great job. After getting some bunk nails from a different spot, I turned to help to find a new place I can call my own! I stumbled upon this hidden gem! I texted the number and received a call from Vicky! Let me tell you she is super sweet! I told her about my problem at the other shop. She didn't hesitate to give me her opinion on what I should do. I came in for a consultation (hence my pictures of the inside). She took a few moments away from her client to speak with me. She of course asked her client of it was ok. After a look, she advised me gel extensions would be best. She is completely booked, that's how popular she is. I suggest making your appointments in advance. She made an appointment for me on a Tuesday. Which I'm sure was her lunch time, because when I arrived....I don't think she had lunch... I arrived at 12:35 a bit early, but I was still undecided on the color. My appointment was at 1pm. I wasn't in a rush so I told her to take her time. She was able to use the restroom and take a small break. We started at 1:15. She issue so much attention to my nails. We were done at 3:30. She removed my acrylic fill and did a gel extension, Gel polish and cuty cuticles. Lastly she lotioned up my arms and massaged my hands. My experience was great. I'll be coming back. You do need to make an appointment since it's a small business but I highly recommend this place. My pediatrician still looks like I done it recently. She's very detailed with her work and tries to give you exactly what you want. I messaged her ahead of time with the design I wanted and it was very easy communicating with her. I also was all over the place with my scheduling and she did her best to accommodate me despite me changing the appointment a few times. This is one of the few salons in the area that carry Japanese gel polish! It is an extra charge, but completely worth it in my opinion. The colors are so much softer than traditional gel polishes. Got my first ever gel manicure here. I texted Vicki for an appointment and she set me up with Rebecca. When I first walked in, I was welcomed by Vicki and Jenny with their warm smiles!
