I should explain the rating a bit. The review is mixed; partially on the technician portion and partially on the owner/office function portion. I requested the annual service tune-up on the AC for May 29th, since that's the prudent thing to do to prepare for the hot South Florida summer. The technician came and he was very friendly; I asked him a few questions on what he will be evaluating and measuring; I'm an engineer. He was very knowledgeable about the services and identify a capacitor reading that was outside of normal operating parameters. The pricing was discussed and seemed fair. Not high or low within the South Florida market; did my research on the cost of capacitor replacement. After he finished, the condo owner paid the technician by check. One would think everything was a done deal. Then I get a call over two weeks later asking for payment. Since I was right there when the condo owner wrote the check and handed to the technician, I was very puzzle by how the process within their company could be so way off in tracking payments. I articulated I would get the check number for him. Accurate bookkeeping, especially accounts receivables is a critical component to running a sound business. In summary, no issues with the AC services portion of the business; poor experience with the business portion of the business. Still a good company; just watch out for their book-keeping. read more

COURT JUDGMENT AGAINST FRIENDLY AC!! Update 10/31/24 Friendly AC continues to not make good on its responsibility to pay this court judgment (see below). We have not seen a penny from them after 6 long years. It's unbelievable that anyone would continue to use them. I will update this review when we are paid the full court ordered judgment and court stated interest. If you don't see an update, they are still in default. UPDATE 5/5/19 - We took Friendly AC to court for our experience below. We won the case and were awarded 100% of our claim from the loss that they caused us. It has now been over 6 months since the judgment in our favor and Friendly AC has yet to pay us what we are legally owed. See copy of judgment in pictures. Would you want to do business with a company that does not hold up their end of the agreement and then even after a court has ordered them to pay, still does not make it right? If anything changes, we will update this post. ORIGINAL REVIEW These guys don't pull permits as required so nobody knows that they didn't do what they were supposed to. Then when their mistakes are discovered they stop communicating with you and abandon the job leaving you stuck to hire someone else to fix their mistakes. Stay away, stay far away from these guys! I used them twice. The first one was a replacement system and they should have pulled a permit but they didn't. I didn't find out until 9 months later when I had a problem with the second AC I hired them for. On the second job I pulled the permit as an owner builder and they installed an AC unit that did not even match the architect's plans. They failed the inspection. Friendly AC 19515 Carolina Circle, Boca Raton, FL 33434 561-305-4832 April 5 Tuesday 1 pm I have grown accustomed to air-conditioning and when the ac started acting up 3 weeks ago we had another company put freon to see if this would fix the problem but the solution only lasted a few days. We called Friendly AC because we saw a flyer and gave them a call yesterday. More freon was added but was told they would add a dye pack to see where the leak was coming from and so it was discovered the handler was messed up and needed replacement. Friendly AC came on time today, unlike other companies and the air handler was replaced within 2 hours. Our technician was super nice and polite. It will take a few hours before we can feel the house chilling, the temperature did rise to 85 degrees and this makes for a hot afternoon indoors. After dealing with endless emails and calls from Angie's List contractors and not getting any great deals, my appraiser actually recommended this company to me. He explained that most companies have higher overhead due to commissions for several levels of people. Whereas Friendly AC is owner operated and simple. I contacted Ran, the owner and told him what I was looking for, 3 Ton, 16 Seer AC. He was able to send me a quote with a brand and details within 24 hrs without having to visit my house. I did take pictures of the outside and inside units for him. We scheduled installation for the following week. Installation was smooth. FPL $150 rebate applied. Excellent price and service! Their quote was about $600 less than most contractors. And, I got a great brand, Carrier, to replace my 20 yr old Rheem. I want to share my experience here! First off finding a quality company that's trustworthy and knows what they're are doing is essential. My Air conditioner was dripping in my garage. Lines weren't blocked either We called the company that installed the rheem ac They told us to rebuild the base it's sitting on 900.00 We kept searching and found Friendly ac All the other companies i had spoken to prior I felt like it was all about their service fees to come When i called Friendly Ac Well the company name actually is fitting I met svika or victor on the phone. here's. my update. it pays to get another quote. victor or ron came out after my call why my A/C died.without a meter he said my unit was fried. he gave me 2 quotes a repair or a new compressor . i found out they charge more than most.as average call is99 to 125$. his diagnosis was correct. it didn't pay to repair as the cost of Freon is 99 a pound. add a 7 yr unit .so they wanted 4500. for a new unit. I got a 2nd quote fro a super rated co. And I saved 1300.$. Friendly is much higher than most. I always check a co reputation before I purchase. I haven't been stiffed as yet doing this. My problem with friendly on the original instalation was the unit was never grounded. Did this cause the compressor or to short to ground. ??Only got 7 years use from unit. read more

After checking the Air Handler and Compressor part numbers, I now found out that they sold me a 14 SEER system at the price of a 16 SEER system! I knew that my AC was starting to go, so I got some quotes to replace it as the compressor was 16 years old, and the air handler 12 yo. There's a lot of nonsense and misinformation in the business, but Friendly was right there as far as accuracy. Their quote was mid price of the three I got, but they indicated that they'd be including a number of other items that weren't addressed in the others, and they gave a longer service warranty. Installation day came and they were there early (!), and were very professional in taking care of things (not an easy install as the air handler is on the third floor loft, and everything needs to be disassembled and reassembled). Always cleaned up completely, and it was like they weren't even there. A minor issue that later came up was immediately addressed, and the unit works great. It is refreshing that companies like Friendly A/C exist. They are a Company with integrity, honesty and professionalism. I called Friendly A/C after I had another company come out. The other company said my system was severely restricted, charged me an outrageous price and did not fix the A/C. They told me I needed a new system even though my A/C is only 7 years old and quoted me an inflated price of $7200 for a new system. I called Friendly A/C and explained the situation. I said if they could fix it great or to quote me for a new system. When I told them the system was only 7 years old, they told me that if I was the original owner, all parts are covered under warranty for 10 years. Friendly, came out and guess what, no restriction on the system. No parts under warranty needed. They fixed it in less than an hour and charged me a very reasonable price. If someone doesn't have A/C don't they want it fixed first thing in the morning - ie 8:30 am? That was the time you wanted to see me. I don't usually rate, but I have to say I am impressed with this company. When it was time to replace my ac, I noticed that they advertised their prices, and I liked that. They came out the same day, there was not any bait and switch, and that's so rare with air conditioners (I have bought several in the past and most companies that I had dealt with were rip off artists), and installed the unit the following day. The installation was flawless, and the employees were polite, clean and respectful. I have dealt with so many AC companies in the past but Friendly AC by far is the most professional, knowledgeable, kind, courteous, fair and loyal one. My job as a realtor requires me to work with AC companies all the time. I was using a different company in the past and never experienced what an outstanding Customer Service is until I worked with Friendly AC. I had an AC unit in one of the rental properties which stopped working. My AC broke down in the middle of the scorching hot summer.. I called 4 different companies desperately until I found friendly A/C.. All the other companies wanted to charge me thousands of dollars and told me my AC is broken and that I needed a new one. They could not have been more helpful. Our unit broke down and we needed a replacement. Their extremely nice technician met me at the specified time Friday afternoon, and even called when he was fifteen minutes away. He looked at the system and told me what two other people did, that I needed a new one. We agreed on a price on Friday afternoon after 3pm and their crew showed up Monday morning to remove the old unit, the crane showed up to place the new unit on the roof and they had it in, installed the new thermostat and everything was working in no time. They cleaned up after the mess the removal made (the old unit was not even installed properly) and were friendly. Dan sat down with me and explained what to do for the warrenty and told me to call if there were any problems. Their price was lower than their competitors and they were just so very nice.
