I was a bit disappointed... I waited months for this place to open I finally had it on a Wednesday afternoon. There were five people ahead of me and I waited around 30 minutes to get four tacos. The gentleman was extremely nice but there was no sense of urgency in the kitchen. The meat had been previously cooked therefore cold. I'm used to the one in Escondido where the meat is fresh off the trompo. The great news is they have Tuesday and Thursday tacos deals so maybe I'll try it then when the tacos aren't cold and overpriced. read more

They have parking! Love the Escondido location. Hate their parking. In the past we actually passed on the Escondido location due to the fact that we could not easily park. We got to the San Marcos location just in time before a huge line grew behind us. Be aware that they have a system. You order your food at the front cash register then take your receipt to the back and hand it over to one of the preparers. Then you wait. Ordered multiple tacos, a burrito, and carne asada fries. Everything tasted great and the portions were huge! Sorry Escondido. San Marcos is our new Frida's go to. read more

First, let me say it's my first time here. I came for taco Tuesday. Let me first talk about cleanliness. The tables were full when I got there, but by the time I got my food most of the tables were available, but none were cleaned. The two young ladies behind the counter were eating I guess didn't have time to Clean the tables before they decided to eat. Period they were kind enough when they took my money, but as stated in other reviews, they didn't mention I would have to stand in line to give my ticket to them. Luckily, I read reviews before I got there and I knew my next step was to stand in line, but they should mention it to everyone that pays for their food that they have to stand in line to give the ticket to the food guys. The food was prepared fast and looked delicious. The salsa were fantastic. But here is where the review takes a nose dive. I grabbed some radishes that seemed old, but the cucumbers I found ones that were rotting in there. And that put me off the rest of my meal. How can they serve rotten cucumber. Do they not throw them away at the end of the day or do they reserve them until they turn black and rot. It did make me lose my appetite. So although I did finish most of my meal, the rest, I decided not to eat because the cucumbers were riding inside the water with all cucumbers. If the cucumbers were perfect, and the cleanliness was paid attention to this would be a five star review. But nobody's gonna convince me that there should be rotting cucumbers in water at the salsa bar, that is unacceptable. read more

The food is very good. The personnel are friendly and helpful. I do suggest they provide a conspicuously placed sign explaining the process, which is you order and pay at the cashier first, then get in line to receive your tacos. First time customers might well waste time standing in the taco line first. That happened to me and another guy during my first visit. read more

Man I've been to their Oceanside location so when I saw they had one in San Marcos I was stoked. However, I've eaten here 4 times now and been let down 4 times. The food is good and the people that work there are very nice. The place is extremely clean, and the service is good. There are a few adjustments that if made, could make this place great. First, descriptions of the menu items would be helpful. Had I known liquid cheese is used on the nachos, that could have been helpful. I know, I could have asked. But in my defense, a place willing to go the extra mile in their offerings doesn't usually ruin food with liquid cheese. Also, it's so much more efficient and helpful if the menu just had descriptions. Second, better operations would be helpful. The way the place is set up, the person filling to go orders can't see if a customer is waiting to order. I've been coming to different locations many times, lately I've been coming to the Marcos location, the tacos are great, but I do have some concerns with the cleanliness the last couple of times I've noticed the girls taking the money with gloves I get that, but also going back to the kitchen and handling things back there along with the freshwater drinks, and then the other day, the guy making the tacos was on the cell phone with his gloves on talking and preparing food he said his phone down and continuous conversation while cooking food. Cell phones carry many germs. I'm not trying to be a complainer, but I really think there needs to be a little more safety on the hygiene and the cleanliness of the food on another occasion. The guy Cleaning took the rugs out, shook them out in the back and they came back to cooking food without taking his gloves off. These are a few things that I wanted to share with the management. we've tried their food during their opening and had once before but this time the service and the food did not live up to the expectations we had of them. they were heavily understaffed for the kitchen as they only had two people doing the orders. our tortas barely had any meat and/or guacamole and was mostly bread and they event forgot one of them so we had to go back and get the second one. considering their prices aren't cheap we were very disappointed. the service was very meh and they also forgot to give us our agua frescas until we asked. read more
