We stopped by Friar Tuck after a friend of our from the UK told us about it. We went in for lunch. The interior looks a lot like the old tenet, Gators that had been decorated with English flare. The whole restaurant felt disjointed. There was a British market on the left, a restaurant in the middle and a night club on the far right. We both ordered Fish and Chips. When it arrived at the table the fish was huge! I was excited to dig in. The Cod was way greasy and was sitting on top of the chips which absorbed the grease from the fish. Nothing was seasoned and overall pretty bland. We will try this place again but later in the evening so we can get a better feel for the establishment. read more

This was our first experience stopping in for a late lunch just after 2pm. They had a sign posted out front that they were out of Sunday roast. We were seated and it took a while for a server to come over, she took our drink order and took quite a while to return with 3 ice waters. They have iced tea out of a machine, not brewed so that was disappointing. We ordered Scotch Eggs as an appetizer and after returning to the kitchen to put in our order the server returned to let us know they were out. Entrees we ordered included Fish & Chips ($5.99 - kids menu portion), battered sausage served with chips (fries) ($7.99) and chicken pot pie served with chips(fries) ($12.95). The battered sausage were crisp and had a nice flavor. The chips (fries) are thick and very tasty but they were served cold. Not sure how that happened as the plates were hot. The Chicken Pot pie had nice crust, top and bottom but the inside was quite bland. The fish and chips were very good and the kids portion was ample enough for an adult. Service was not very attentive and we overheard the server share with the table behind us that they were out of even more things. Maybe it would be better to have their menu written on a dry erase or chalk board so they could update it throughout the day. We will give them a second chance. read more

Really good food here and large portions. The fish and chips is a huge meal, big enough to share. I just wish that the fish would be seasoned with salt before being cooked because it's on the bland side. I had the full friar breakfast which was amazing. Pretty dead but it was a Tuesday so no judgement... Had the fish and chips with a Guinness. Fish was amazing! Tartar sauce had a bit too much dill on top amdi didn't realize when I first dipped. Once I mixed it up it was MUCH BETTER! Fish was beautifully fried, and "chips" were obviously fried in coffee oil. This isn't always the case and other things could have a fishy taste to them, but not here. The bartender (Butch I believe) was very nice and had good conversations. My heart is so happy tonight! I'm a Brit that has lived in the US for 14 years, and I've not had a visit home since the day I left. We're on vacation in Orlando from Gatlinburg TN, and to see a British restaurant that is understated in its decor, and doesn't play into the tackiness and stereotypes that the others do, is a breath of fresh air! I literally cried when I was sitting at the table because homesickness set in for the first time in years! The variety of products in the store was amazing! I'll be stopping by before we head back up north to pick up some frozen items for sure! The food was phenomenal. The fish and chips with mushy peas were sooooo good, and were the size of a 'special' back home - absolutely huge! The fish was white and flaky, the batter was great, and the chips were proper fish and chip shop style. I really wanted desert, but I was too stuffed! The gentleman (sorry, I forget his name, an ex-marine) who waited on us was super friendly and accommodating, and was very patient with me! All around, a great experience. Anyone who is looking for an Americanized experience should tone down their expectations, but if you want the real deal, not the tacky tourist stereotype, then this is the place for you! read more

The food was good. I had the fish and chips; it was an enormous piece of white fish. That was the best part of the whole experience. We waited a very long time to be seated as they appeared to be short staffed. While waiting we looked over the menu; there were some interesting choices on it. However, after being seated, we were told we had to pick from a "limited" menu which was less than half the size. Most of us were going to get something that was no longer on the menu. It was very disappointing. The ambiance was good. They had a lady singing on stage. I doubt I would go back for a sit down meal again. Recently went through some changes as many places do. (New Owners- got to meet them and they are so nice). Our server was Amy and she was busy but always made sure we didn't need anything. She is super friendly and nice. Our food came out hot and fresh. (Thank you Kitchen!) My husband said the fish and chips was GOOD (his version of fantastic lol)! I have to say, the piece of fish was gigantic! The mushrooms were good, the Ruben was good. If you get the Chicken Tenders and chips you really get a good amount. We were unimpressed by Friar Tucks. We waited for 15 minutes until someone even acknowledged that we were there (there was no one else waiting). The service was good once we got a table, but the fish and chips was very greasy and gave me an upset stomach for the rest of the night. They were out of a menu item and two standard beers that we ordered which also led to the poor experience. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

What an embarrassment to the British community. We drove 90 minutes to get there. They had what was advertised as a "Christmas Dinner" for $34.99 that was more a Thanksgiving dinner based on the menu. You could also order British food off a meager menu. A quite expensive menu, I might add. We opted for the British fare since my husband is British and his mom is a wonderful cook. We ordered "Magical Mushrooms" as a STARTER. After waiting half an hour, I called the waitress over to make sure everything wasn't going to come out all at once. She confessed that she forgot to put the order in for the mushrooms. She asked if we would like them after the main course, no charge. My husband said yes, I would have passed on them. We both ordered the steak pie. It was the smallest, sorryest looking thing. It came with one small plop of mashed potatoes that were room temp, about a table spoon of peas and two carrot rounds. Room temp. The meat mixture in the pie tasted ok but wasn't very hot. The pastry was flaky and tasted ok. There were also two little carrot "coins" in this. The entire meat mixture was tasteless. I took about three bites and left the rest. Out come these three, nice sized, mushrooms with a ton of melted cheese over them. The cheese was cold and chewey. What ever "magic" these mushrooms was supposed to have, disappeared. They were cold, barely room temp, and tasted terrible. We both had one & left the largest. I asked for a dessert menu and it looked impressive. Several items we were familiar with and excited to try. The Spotted Dick was the size of a ping pong ball, drowned in tasteless custard sauce. I had the Bread Pudding. Again, rather small serving for the $7 & drowned in the same watery, tasteless sauce. Oh, my husband had 1 pint of Kilkenny Beer and I had a small flute of Prosecco. We paid $71 something plus a 25 percent tip. I was disappointed. No wonder the place was nearly empty on the Saturday night before Christmas. Oh, and, the "live" music was a guy on a saxaphone playing along to canned music. read more

We went for a birthday party and there were five of us. We were there at 12:30 and there were no other customers which was odd. The waiter was nice, but told us the at it was under new ownership. He went into detail to say the previous owners got a divorce and the staff went with them so they decided to sell. The food was excellent, but the bill was questionable. my friend and I split an order of chips which was $5.49, but when the bill came he charged me $5.49 and her $3.49. Half of $5.49 is $2.25. we ended up paying a total of $7.00 for a small side portion. When I question it the man helping said, "while that's just restaurant business". No, it was simple math splitting the total of $5.49 between two people. Two of us used the restrooms, which two toilets were very dirty and they had a plumbing issue so there was no water when we went to wash hands. My opinion was the bathrooms should have been temporarily closed. They did apologize for the dirty bathrooms. The store is also temporarily closed until the new owner gets it stocked. They also only have handhelds, no register, so I believe that is where the discrepancy was. I would say this restaurant will be worth going to, but give them a few weeks to get settled in with the new owner. Like I said food was good, prices were around $14.99 per plate, with large portions. It just could have been a better experience. We will try again in a few months and do another review. read more

Friar Tuck has become one of my new favorite places! As I was looking through Yelp, I found Friar Tuck and all of the great reviews and decided to check it out. I was looking for authentic English food and Friar Tuck didn't disappoint. The food is amazing!! I went in to order for pickup and the staff were very friendly and kind! They had a lot they were dealing with that night and they were still doing great despite everything. I found they have a small shop inside where you can pick up all sorts of teas and snacks. I picked up some Jammie Dodgers, Cadbury, and other things I'd never tried before, and they had all the popular UK snacks I'd been looking to try. After paying for the teas and snacks, I ordered my food and it turned out that they had a Beatles Tribute band for the night, and the place was packed! Everyone was singing along and some were dancing and it was just all really fun! Once I got home for the night, the food was delicious! I ordered food for my family and for myself, and the Full English Breakfast, Scotch Egg, and Sticky Toffee Pudding were amazing!!! I'm excited to come back and try more of their menu :D read more

I've been here twice once for lunch once for breakfast. The lunch was great. The fish and chips were very good, cottage pie was good as were the scotch eggs. The server was polite and attentive. The breakfast was bad. Out of the 4 dishes ordered, 3 were missing ingredients. Two burritos had no cheese in them, and one had a lot less egg than the other. The wraps were cold as in the tortilla wasn't warmed before the filling was added. My full friar didn't include blood sausage,it was requested when the waiter asked if I wanted it. read more

We came during a slow night so it wasn't busy at all. It's a nice looking place inside, not too done up but unique. I like the fireplace they added. I'm not a huge fan of British food and I haven't had much of it so I'm no expert on if it is true to it. The staff were super friendly so that was a pleasant experience. From what I tried, everything was cooked well. The only thing I didn't like was that nothing had a kick or spice in it. The flavor was there but it was tame. Maybe it's just my personal taste. What an absolute delight this place is! The owners are really friendly and the service great. What really stands out and the reason for us to come back is the quality of their food. We originally came on Sunday to try their Sunday roast, which didn't disappoint in the least. They rotate between beef and lamb roast, so if you prefer one over the other, definitely phone in and ask which one is served. We had the Sunday lamb roast, which is served with veggies, potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. I had their fried fish with fries and I was warned to bring and appetite and rightfully so. It was the biggest fried fish dish I've ever seen. The fish was fried perfectly, flaky and moist. I really liked their home made tartar sauce as well. We came back the second time and I had their beef pasties, which again, is a huge portion and I had plenty of left overs for dinner. The pie crust was nice and flaky. My hubby tried their steak and mushroom pie with mash potatoes and veggies. I was hoping for steak and kidney (or other offal) but it was still a delightful dish. We also tried a dessert from their menu and we went with the favorite - a Biscoff Bomb, which was everything you hope for in a dessert and more. The filling was gooey and sweet, well balanced with the not too sweet whipped cream and two scoops of vanilla ice-cream. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the location is in a really nice neighborhood with easy to find street parking. Overall a great place to go for Sunday brunch or just come hang out on weekdays for a pint. read more

OMG the portions here are MASSIVE!!! This place was recommended to us by some friends. The first time we tried to come here they were closed for maintenance.... so 1 star... j/k. Seriously though, most of the other restaurants, diners, bars, food places around the disney area give so little food for what they charge. Not this place. The appetizers could have been entrees. The entrees could have fed multiple people. Or just one person, and then they'd have to roll you out, you'll be so full. Great atmosphere ! We enjoyed our visit to the Friar Tuck. Tried the scotch eggs, stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. It was my first scotch egg, so unable to judge it in comparison, though they were a hit at our table. The mushrooms were so tasty, we were glad there were only 4, so we didn't eat more. All had the fish and chips for main mel & it's a huge serving. Forgot and only got a picture of the fish. Was to be a band tonight, bit illness got in the way, so there was karaoke. I can't believe I finally stopped in here. I've always been interested in stopping by since locals come by only. The outside is very home like and inside it is very warm, quaint and fuzzy! The menu was very easy to read and great too choices to chose from. Menu was not overwhelming, which I love, and it was reasonable priced. It is English offerings so I was excited to try the dish! Our server was British which just made the experience feel great and authentic! :) she was very nice and warm. We placed our order and it came out in a reasonable time! She was always on top of our drinks in terms of refill and checked up on us. The food - delish! She even brought out some sauces from the UK! The overall experience was great! I've never been to the UK but the food definitely felt home made and not from then US. It was delicious and different! I've been to other English restaurants claiming to be authentic and it really wasn't and just an overpriced, but here, it really was authentic! Can't wait to go back! I wanted to love this place because the sevice was so good but the food was just ok. We ordered desert first (the shareable biscotti). Overall, that was pleasant with a warm caramel/butterscotch filling. I ordered the cottage pie, which was fine but lacked a personality. The corn and peas in the dish tasted like they were canned, or steamed as they had a watery texture that made every bite feel a bit mushy. The mashed potatoes on top were toasted beautifully but the texture was a bit dry and the flavor bland (more butter, please!). It was just ok, but not interesting or memorable. This feels like the kind of place that's great to gather with friends for a pint and conversation but as a foodie, I'd explore other options. read more

Great new place in the Cagan Crossing area of Clermont! Friar Tuck Restaurant British Restaurant and pub opened after the pandemic and is family run by Chaz and Candy from the heart of England with authentic British family recipes! The restaurant is huge with a party room, pool room, huge bar area, dance and band area and an enchanted dining room complete with fire place, varnished picnic table seating, a suit of armor statue and of course the Friar Tuck greeting you! Susan our server was very friendly, gracious and knowledgeable about all menu items and was very quick and appeasing. Many beers on tap and available along with wine and full bar. Menu has many items to choose from such as old classics as Scotch eggs, Chicken curry pie, Cornish pastry, fish and chips, battered sausage, beef and cheddar Sarnie and much, much more! We decided on the turkey club with fresh turkey, british bacon, onions, lettuce and tomatoes on a toasted Jackson. My Cottage pie was packed full of delicious meat and mash potatoes on top! We ended on a very sweet note of a fresh cream donut which was like a fresh baked jelly donut with a mountain of fresh cream on top with a drizzle of strawberry drizzle on top. Come on Sunday's for a full Roast beef or roast lamb dinner. This is a fun place with live bands on Saturday at 8pm, karaoke bingo on Tuesdays, and trivia on thursdays. We were desperately trying to find a non chain breakfast spot and this place is beyond perfect! I went to England as a kid and my love for all things British runs deep. This was our second visit and the fish and chips was very greasy. My fish in certain parts was even sort of mushy frim too much grease. There were 4 of us and all but one dinner was very greasy. The taste was good but way too much grease. On the other hand the fries had no crisp at all. Maybe it was an off night but we were,disappointed because our first visit was excellent. We would like to go back and try the lamb dinner but need to read a review first. Lamb can be gamy if not cooked correctly. read more
