From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly detail-oriented. They took great care to prep their work area every single day and kept everything covered, which made a huge difference in controlling dust throughout our home. They also stayed right on schedule and completed the work within the timeframe they originally promised. What really stood out was their expertise--they offered thoughtful recommendations on improvements and changes that truly elevated the project. We've been so impressed with their work that we've already asked them for quotes on installing new windows and demoing our kitchen and half bath. We highly recommend Triple State Construction to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work!

I hired this company to redo a shower stall. Because they were already going to be doing concrete…read morework in the shower stall, I pointed out two, small, hand-sized areas of concrete that needed patching on my balcony. The owner Chris, said he would not charge me because it was negligible. I was happy that they were a good faith company who wouldn't nickel and dime me. Boy, I turned out to be wrong on that! Their work in the shower was just alright. It required a second pass to fix some lines that were not quite straight and they offered to fix it. The shower was substantially less work than initially scoped. The estimate was for a much larger job than needed to be done to fix the shower. I expected to get a discount on the initial estimate. Chris discounted me $200. I agree to pay him the full estimate minus $200 for services not rendered in the initial estimate. After the job is complete, Chris suddenly springs me with an additional charge of $100. He wants to charge me for the balcony patches, which were two child's hand-sized areas. This was quite irritating because not only did they not have to do as much of a job on the shower as they initially thought, but he was going to flip-flop on his initial word that he wouldn't charge me for patching the balcony concrete. He began harassing me via e-mail, using adjectives like "ridiculous" and questioning my character. This was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. Within a couple of emails he began threatening to take out a lien on my property. That sounded odd to me, like he was bullying and on an anger trip rather than negotiating like a regular contractor. A lien on my property for a dispute over $100? Sounded unreasonable. I would have gladly paid the $100 if he had been honest with the charge up-front, or if he had sent me a change order in writing saying that the balcony patching would take more effort and he wanted to charge for the balcony. It was neither. The patches were tiny and he did much less work in the shower than he initially expected to have to do. It seemed like he was extorting me for additional money after the work was complete because he felt he could get away with threatening me, or because he didn't really like the fact that he had to do a second pass on the shower floor to get it right. I began talking to my condo building manager about this contractor. I learned that he fired one of his workers who was known for doing outstanding work on bathrooms, then threatened him physically if he ever worked on remodeling any of our building units. In short, this guy is trouble. Like the other reviewer also noted, he changes price quotes in the middle of a job or after the job is done, and gets nasty and short-tempered. There are a ton of contractors out there, save yourself a headache.

Like the other reviewers here, we can't say enough great things about the outstanding painting and…read moreremodeling services we received from X-Clusive Construction. From the outset of our initial contact, we could tell that this was a truly dedicated and highly professional company. Led by Andres, the entire experience was exceptional. From the quotes developed to outline what services we'd be receiving, to the work being performed, leading up to a final walk through, we were not only guided expertly, but saw the results greatly exceed our expectations. We were especially grateful for the assistance in considering colors for each room, and the recommendations on where we needed to make some repairs that were not immediately obvious to us, as we had just moved into the house. One seldom spends much time focusing on their ceilings, but when pointed out cracks and other imperfections, it underscores the extreme value in having someone experienced guiding you in this process. To say that the whole team were perfectionists is not an understatement, because the attention to detail, from the planning leading up to the job, to covering and protecting surfaces and furniture, to the execution of the work, all care was taken to produce the amazing results we now have. In addition to the painting of our entire home, X-Clusive remodeled an entertainment room, removing carpeting, installing new flooring, repairing walls and ceiling and making it a wonderful space that before had bordered on a storage room. To say that Andres and his team went above and beyond is not an understatement. We had some minor things that needed to be addressed as work was progressing (e.g. replacing a light switch with a dimmer switch) and some hauling of unwanted furniture. Without hesitation these requests were met with a smile and a can-do response. I wish that I had before pictures for you to compare the beautiful work that they did, but sadly we didn't think of that. But rest assured, the focus on the highest quality outcome, coupled with incredibly attentive customer service, makes X-Clusive Construction the only choice for us to do work in our home again!

He did my full BATHROOM, but failed to mention that he DIDNT LEAVE IT FUNCTIONAL. I paid him $4500 for a completely unfinished bathroom that needs a minimum of $3000 of work just to make it functional. He left it without hot water in the sink, no running water in the shower, the toilet was unstable, grout looking like sh!t on the floor, and instead of putting the sink pvc piping behind the wall, his lazy a$$ left it in the bathroom and just drilled massive holes into and throughout our vanity. After asking for my money back, for that portion, he has ignored my emails, so lawyers are getting involved. Marks Electric generally gets good ratings for the two-hour get-in-and-go projects, but I hired…read morethem to do a full renovation, including installing lights, outlets, and switches throughout. The organization required to do that scale of work was lacking. There was about 30 hours of work to be done, and the person assigned to the job, Rick, stretched that over three months. This caused conflicts with another contractor: you can't put up the drywall until the electrical is in, and there are ton of things that you can't do until the drywall is up, so if the electrician isn't showing up, you have a team of people sitting on their hands. Eventually, the drywall went up without the electrical, and then Rick complained to me that he had to cut holes in the wall to fish the lines through, and then the other contractor complained to me that somebody just cut holes all over his drywall that now he had to patch. This sort of failure to do relatively simple coordination repeated itself a few times. I called Mark about the no-shows and lack of communication somewhere in there. Mark told me that Rick's performance is between me and Rick, and he's staying out of it. So the company's named "Mark's electric", but Mark was explicit to me that he's not responsible for the behavior of his employees. That phone conversation is why I'm writing this review. On the plus side, the work was fundamentally competent: the sub-panel they installed works, most of the lights come on, and the house hasn't burned down. Since then, I've re-hung the chandelier they installed, because it seemed wrong to me that they used the ground wire to bear the load of the light instead of using the chain to bear the load. There's a vestibule entrance to the house, and I hired another electrician to move the light from where Rick put it, just outside the vestibule, to the more natural placement inside, as per the architect's drawings. I've removed a motion sensor at the top of a staircase that senses motion in a nearby hallway but not on the stairs. I discussed the mis-placement with Mark's electrician at the time, and he wasn't inclined to fix it. The light fixture for that one fell out of the plaster after a few weeks, so I had somebody re-hang that too. Still on my to-do list: re-install the fan in the living room, which never worked, even the day after Rick's team installed it; rewire two light fixtures that just stopped working one day; and redo a circuit for a hall light that recently stopped working.
