And the glazed one... the glazed one looked at me like, "Yeah... it was me. And I'd do it again." So obviously I picked that one. I took one bite and instantly felt like I owed that donut money. It was THAT good -- like it was trying to establish dominance. I'm standing there chewing, thinking, "Man... I came here for breakfast, not enlightenment." Then I grabbed a jelly donut. Why? Because I'm an optimist. I believe in second chances. Big mistake. This thing exploded on me like it had been under pressure since the Reagan administration. Jelly shot out like it was trying to escape. I had strangers looking at me like I'd been caught in a dessert-related drive-by. The staff didn't even blink. They were like, "Oh, yeah, that one's active." ACTIVE?! This a donut, not a volcano. Then came the maple bar. This donut was built like it pays taxes. Thick. Heavy. There were toddlers in the store with less body mass. I picked it up and it just bent in the middle like it was tired of life. Same, donut. Same. But the flavor? Man. That maple bar tasted like it learned its recipe from an angel who got kicked out of heaven for sharing too much. The shop itself is cozy. Friendly people. Good music. Like a place where you could have a peaceful morning or a full existential crisis, depends on the donut. Overall: Satisfying donuts. Zero self-control afterwards. They don't actually make sandwiches at 5:30 a.m. I asked just after 5:40, only to be told they were not making any. I was hoping to grab a sandwich before rushing off to work. I've also tried @8pm & again I was told they are closing @9 so they couldn't make any. I really miss the old owner of Donut Star... He was great and always offered extra donuts now and then. I love Monica so much.!! She's so warm and welcoming always makes me feel like family their Number 13 croissant sandwich is out of this WORLD if you add avocado it's even BETTER ! This place is opened 24 hours, but the two times I went the donuts were not good at all. The first time I tried this place out was later in the day, so the other local donut shops were already closed. When I went in, they only had about 4 different donuts to choose from and they had about 15 regular donuts at the time in total. So I purchased a dozen and went home. Most of the donuts were stale, but otherwise okay. The second time I had them was when my sister brought some over from this shop yesterday. She lives right by this place so she ended up going there and then came over. I had a male bar if it seemed good and fresh so no problem there. There was a leftover Apple fritter so today I decided I would eat half since I can never finish a whole one. I broke it in half and not down on what would have been the center of the donut. I chewed it a couple of times quickly while thinking, the apples were a bit mushy... I started to swallow the donut when I realized it wasn't mushy apples, it was UNDERCOOKED DOUGH! I was only able to spit half of it out. I was so grossed and and felt a bit nauseous a while after. I will never go to this location for donuts again. I'll stick to Miss Donuts. It's the one I live close to. The only downfall with this place is that you need cash, but I never had any issues with their donuts or sandwiches. read more

I needed 8 dozen donuts last minute for a donut board I was putting together for a party. I called in my order the week of the party not really knowing what kind of donuts I was going to need. I mean ones with holes in them obviously but I wasn't sure what flavors people like. They were SUPER helpful and prepared a mix for me ready and waiting at the time I said I would be there to pick up. The wall came out soooo good! I asked for boba and they didn't have a clear menu and he made me a strawberry banana and didn't put any boba in it. When I asked him politely why there were no tapioca balls in my drink he said I didn't tell him that.. I told him I did but I'm sorry he didn't understand. He huffed and puffed away and still hasn't shown up with my drink and I am still waiting. Update: got my drink and it is just a nana smoothie with melted tapioca balls at the bottom.
