So last week I received an email from our lovely Elite Newsletter asking this very question(s) …read more.. "What if the only businesses open in 2020 were the ones you've written a review about in 2019? Would your favorite businesses be open?" -Yelp Hampton Roads ELITE NEWSLETTER ... I was very encouraged and just had to take action! After looking over the motivational BINGO chart "A BIZ THAT MAKES YOU CLEAN" (meaning housekeeping, dry cleaners, etc.) happened to be the only business that I haven't reviewed. The real question is, what would businesses do without commercial cleaning services? I mean think about it .. these experts know what needs to be done in order to ensure a clean and safe environment. For example when a business owner delegates cleaning service for a law firm with office staff, the owner not only wants to assure the cleanliness of the work space but to also maintain a health morale. Allowing the workers to do what they do best and leave cleaning to the experts. Hiring a cleaning service is extremely important and will install confidence in the office staff immediately; employees become more productive in a well-kept surrounding. I'm here to tell you today, look no further for a grand Commercial Cleaning Service here in the Hampton Roads Area! CLEAN ON ME Commercial Cleaning Service can handle EVERY cleaning need! I really want to support women owned/black owned businesses so typically if I have a good…read moreexperience I'll write a good review; if an experience does not meet my expectation I just notify the owner and won't return. A poor review from me is rare. That said, had I seen the previous negative review prior to choosing the company I may have proceeded differently. I originally put in an inquiry for a deep cleaning through the project feature on Yelp. I was contacted by Sherri, the mother of the owner who informed me she helps her daughter with scheduling. I explained that I needed a deep cleaning prior to a move in. She asked questions about the size of my home and specifics that should be done. She initially quoted $350 which I knew was too low for the size of the home and scope of the project. I asked if they wanted to schedule a walk through for estimate and she said that wasn't necessary. I told her that I wanted to pay a fair price for the task and told her that I would send pics of the house for reference of the size and condition. I sent a number of pictures and indicated problem areas such as the kitchen floor, dirty windows and Dusty blinds throughout. I was informed that given the specifics of the "chore list" and the request for interior Windows the fee would be $650, to which I agreed. Destiny and Christi (the owner) arrived on the designated Saturday morning a few minutes late due to an understandable bridge lift delay. The cleaning products and equipment they had seemed minimal and of low quality. They explained that they forgot to pack any gloves and were running to late to pick any up on the way. I offered gloves and showed them a pantry equipped with cleaning supplies and told them they were welcome to use anything in the closet to include any of the snacks, water, red bull, as all the items were purchased specifically for people helping in the home. I gave a walk through of the house and told them that I'm available for any questions or comments. The ladies were friendly and got to work. Unfortunately, even after 5.5 hours of cleaning, none of the areas appeared well cleaned. Wiping of surfaces seemed to just smear on clear or shiny surfaces. Blinds received a cursory brush with the swifter duster but needed an actual wet wipe given they did not appear to have been cleaned for quite some time. I was surprised to see them work ungloved in the toilet and mopping with a basic bucket (no wheels) and what appeared to be a dollar store quality mop being squeezed by hand back in between dunking back into the dirty mop water. The mop water was not changed at any point, just dumped at the end. I pointed out that the interior stove and window was still filthy and the young lady explained she did her best by wiping with Windex and a rag. They did not have oven cleaner or know of other products to clean oven interiors. Here's where things really went left...At about 4pm Sherri (the mother of the owner) called me and said she was unable to get in contact with the young ladies. I informed her they were still at my home and I could have them call her. Sherri went on to say that the ladies missed their 2 other afternoon appointments "trying to clean my home" so I would need to pay more. I replied that I would be paying the agreed upon price that I received in advance in writing and that if there was an issue with that price it should have been discussed with me during the walk through or at whatever time they realized they could not fulfill the agreed upon contract. Sherri became upset, loudly talking over me, and told me that the "girls are young and don't know those things" and that because they chose to not show up to their other appointments it's only fair that I pay them more. Mind you, Christi-the owner, is inside my house and has not said one word about the job being over time. Not sure who schedules 2 inexperienced young ladies to do a "deep clean" of a 2800sq ft. home with 4 bathrooms with 2.5 hours as the alotted time. Sherri informed me that if I wasn't going to pay more the cleaners needed to leave, which was fine since the majority of it needed to be redone anyway. I paid the agreed upon amount and the following day invited Sherri the opportunity to come do a walk through of the home and smell the dirty mop smell that was now overwhelming, prior to my review. She declined and said that I was told they "don't specialize in windows" and that my comments about the work were "harassment." (Side note: their page indicates interior window cleaning as a specific service offered). This company may be ok if you have a need for very basic vacuuming or light dusting (that you don't want wiped free of dust). They did a nice job cleaning the tubs and toilets (credit where I can give it) but the bathroom floors were not thoroughly swept or mopped in any corners or areas behind toilet, or under claw foot tub. I'm including a few pics that I have already shared with the company.

What a great team! What a great product!…read more I spent a large amount of time looking for flooring before deciding to purchase from Cherry Carpet. Why them? Best Price after looking everywhere! Best Selection after looking everywhere! Knowledgeable and relatable Sales Team. Knew their products and even showed pictures of their own homes, where they had installed some of the products. Wonderful family feel -They were not snobbish or condescending which was experienced at other locations. Great Service! Spent time answering questions, researching and finding solutions to unusual concerns. Great Workmanship. All the contractors used for installations were wonderful and did a great job. Everyone was professional and enjoyable. I spent a reasonable amount completing a renovation of flooring with them throughout my home, and never was I concerned with Cherry Carpet. I had to extend my purchase with them for almost a year, due to delays in renovations and they never expressed concern with the time or the payment. From Halley to Ashley to Lisa and their former Manager, Eric, a GREAT team. I have referred others to them, I will continue to do so. I will definitely return to Cherry Carpet should I need something else. This is a wonderful place for feeling confident that your needs will be met.

For all the military people out there - I first checked out Cherry Flooring after my realtor said an O-6 submariner did research on all the surrounding flooring companies and, after crunching the numbers, picked Cherry Flooring. That was enough of an endorsement for me! If you know, you know. Thank you to the submariner for your service to the flooring customer base! The Cherry Flooring Staff- While the product may ultimately matter most, the Cherry Flooring staff are top-notch. I felt like they were family by the time I was done redoing 90% of the flooring in my house. For background, I had just finished two back-to-back overseas tours, bought my first house, and decided to redo a lot of the house on a tight budget and timeline. What could go wrong? Amanda spent so much time with me as I repeatedly came back "just to look" because I couldn't make a decision! Once I finally selected everything I wanted, the dreaded COVID had other plans and delayed the products I had finally chosen... back to the drawing board. Amanda and the team didn't skip a beat. They found a similar product, negotiated prices for me, and next thing you know the flooring was installed and I was one happy Sailor! The Cherry Flooring Product- Carpet - The carpet I bought has been great. In hind sight, I should have skipped buying white carpet. That said, this carpet is incredible. I spilled a curry tomato sauce on it, didn't notice it for days, and thought for sure it would never come out. I was wrong! It came right up! Luxury Vinyl Flooring - Initially, I wanted hardwood. Forget that! The LVP is the way to go. So easy to clean, looks incredible, and I will never get a different type of flooring again. White Carpet - your days are numbered. The Installation - The installation was so easy, I was at work and the team kept me updated via text and Amanda checked-in on me multiple times. What can I say, I was nervous! The only issue I ran into was with my subfloor. If I could go back and do it again, I would make sure my subfloor was ready for new flooring. I have places where it wasn't even and had objects embedded into it causing bumps. I also would have added a thicker padding under the carpet. Hindsight is 20/20. To wrap up - I highly recommend Cherry Flooring and they will be my first call for all future flooring needs!
