With that in mind, have to say thank you to Chris who came out on Saturday for a bit of a carpet cleaning emergency. While most people would be upset about having to work on the weekend, Chris showed up with a positive attitude, willing to help out and do everything he could in a pinch. Without procrastinating, he got to work right away and did an excellent job cleaning the carpets. And yes, it was a little expensive but again it was the weekend and he did excellent work! When I called to schedule I explained to the lady that this is a condo, I need to be called to let them in the building. She told me that she made notes to give me a 30 minute notice and call me when they arrived. She told me that it is their policy to text when they are on their way. After waiting for 5.5 hours, and texting the number they provided to text for questions but getting no response, I called. I was told that they left because no one was home!! No one called or texted me except an auto generated reminder text at 11:30am. My condo is empty but I have multiple deliveries starting Tuesday because I scheduled this such that my carpets would be dry. I am Frustrated beyond words. It should not be acceptable for the cleaning technicians not to call or texted, and when they can't get into a condo building they simply leave and document "no one home"! I got a text and email confirming my appointment, plus reminder texts leading up to the day. On the day of the appointment, I received a text saying Curtis and Destiny were on their way, complete with a picture of Curtis and a tracking link! Talk about service! Curtis and Destiny were total pros and did an amazing job! We have four dogs, and raising two from puppies meant our carpet had seen (and smelled) better days. Potty training accidents are no joke! I have a beautiful dog who is allowed on the furniture. Need I say more. She is a doodle so I'm lucky in the hair department. I called the office and had an appointment quickly. I had Stanley Steemer clean the rugs in all of my bedrooms along with my family room. It ended up being 7 rooms, 2 staircases, and a hallway. He was here a total of 2 hours. I brought to his attention that the rug was not looking clean. His response was that the high traffic areas will never look clean or remove all of the dirt. When he left, there were soap suds all over my driveway. After 8 hours, the rugs were still sopping wet. I went and bought a $138 Hoover carpet cleaner from Walmart. The water being sucked up was coming out FILTHY! Looks like the rugs were never cleaned. I paid over $900 for cleaning, deoderizing, and protection. Don't waste your time or money. Buy a Hoover from Walmart. You will get better results. Would not recommend. read more

Was required to use Stanley Steemer per my lease for move out clean. They charged me extra upon arrival because we had a disagreement on what size a room is (1500 sq ft house with a living area for most of the first floor, carpeted stairs, a hallway, four bedrooms. I have been using Stanley Steemer three times a year since my home was built in 2003. I am obviously a loyal and satisfied customer. On this occasion, out of four rooms, I only asked, as usual, for them to move four pieces of furniture. Four pieces out of 34. My adult daughter was in charge as I was down the street at a baby shower. Not only was the furniture not moved. Rugs were not cleaned. I watched on the pet cam as shoddy services were rendered, and I returned home. The tech made my child write another check for $110 more to cover "walk in closets" which they treated as an extra space. Despite the fact that 60 technicians for 20 years before them never overcharged me for a teeny carpet patch. The service took under one hour for 4 rooms. There was actual debris remaining on the carpet edge and carpet was actually dry in traffic areas. I pointed out a 3 inch stain and was told that that was "just dirty water from disconnecting a hose and it would dry clear". See picture below. The two carpet cleaners were on-time and professional. The voucher that is offered on Yelp for $100. to use on $150. in services for Stanley Steeler is slightly misleading. I read the entire offer before purchasing, went ahead a purchased the voucher and gave it a try. It took about 30 minutes to "pay" the company. I was told from SS I was given a "special price" when I scheduled the carpet cleaning therefore I could not use the voucher. The compromise was this: I was given the "non-special" price and was then about to use the voucher. Not a great deal at all, but the company did a good job. read more

The crews did a great job however the first crew that showed up had to leave halfway through the job because the truck was broken. The crew told me that it would be a hour and a half to two hours before the next crew would be at my home to finish the job. After waiting two hours I called to find out how much longer I would have to wait that's when they told the second crew to get to my house even though they were on the way to a different job. I ask that a manager call me back to explain why I had to wait over two hours for them to send a crew to finish the job. The manager informed me that I was rescheduled for the next time slot 3pm to 7pm and tried to play it off that the second crew was not pulled from a different job. No one ever called emailed or texted me that I was rescheduled to the next time slot. I also told him that the second crew did not move the bed to clean the carpet under that's when he informed me that they don't move beds even though he agreed that they will move furniture so Stanley Steemer doesn't know that a bed is furniture. The guys came out they did a good job overall.. There were areas that needed more cleaning than others and they stand out. I had them clean & seal the ceramic tile in my kitchen & foyer the total was $303 before my coupon... $99 per area to clean and $50 per area to clear seal & protect. Well I didn't expect the clear sealing fee per area however I found out after they arrived and discussed the estimated cost.. I'm thankful for the 15% off coupon that came in the mail, I ended up paying $274. This was my 2nd time using Stanley Steemer and I will use them again.. I had to move small items myself like a table in the foyer, chairs, 2 bar stools a small tv & cabinet, they moved a breakfast nook & table to the center of the floor and put it back. BEWARE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO REMOVE PET ODORS! Our elderly dog had started having "accidents" in a small area of our carpet so we wanted the cleaners from Stanley Steemer (SS) to clean the carpet and remove the smell from that area. At their suggestion, we paid an additional fee for their deodorizer. After they finished the carpet looked good, but when it dried the odor was much worse and spread throughout the larger room. When we informed SS of how bad it was, they did return to give it another try. However, the second attempt was also unsuccessful. In summary: Although their representatives were professional, SS made the odor problem much worse. We are now considering replacing the wall-to-wall carpeting at great expense. read more

I was given the run around for an appt I made to have my heat/air ducts cleaned by the branch in Hampton, VA. I was given a window of 8a-1p on 5/20/21. I would be 1st on the docket. No one came and no one called. When I called the office at 130p, I was told that techs were backed up on a job in Chesapeake but I was definitely next. This was the same explanation at 330p. Still, no one came or called. I wasted my entire day for nothing. When I called this morning they were not even aware of my situation yesterday and there was no manager for me to talk to. I was told a manager would call me today but she could give me an appt for 5/25, (8a-1p). I said okay. After not hearing from a manager, I called again. This time I was told by someone else that no manager would call me for 1/2 days but an incident report had been filed and that I was not scheduled for 5/25. Now only 5/26 appts were available. I accepted but have since cancelled to go with another company. Maybe my service need wasn't as important/costly as the one in Chesapeake or elsewhere. read more

My carpet is a mess. It was cleaned but found out that the man hooking hose to my water used WELL water that is straight from the river. I have used this company for many many years and have never had a mess like this. Yes the manager did come back and he did refund my money but that is not the issue. Provides a very basic carpet cleaning service. Best for lightly soiled carpets. They will make a few passes with the steam wand and that's it - no real effort to remove stains. If your carpet has a stain in a small area pretreat it with an Oxiclean based spray and just don't tell them - the steam will remove the worst spots; don't tell them you pretreated. They will also try to get you to tell them the age of your carpet; if it's more 2 years old they will claim they can't get the spots out because of the age.
