That sauce is honestly the standout it adds so much flavor. The taco bowl itself is super crunchy and has a really good taste on its own. I'm pretty sure it's fried, and honestly, I could eat the shell by itself. The portion size is BIG. You can easily split it into two meals, or if you finish it in one sitting, you'll be full for the rest of the day. For the price (not even $10), it's definitely a great value.Overall, really good food, filling, and worth the money. I'll be getting this again for sure.

It's a small hole-in-the-wall with only a few tables, and yes, you'll hear a lot of banging from the grill while they cook, but that's part of the charm. Prices are unbelievable--two taco bowls and two Mountain Dews ran us about $20 total! Where else can you get that? Service was great, they take cash and cards, and the food alone makes it worth dealing with the sometimes tricky parking in downtown Newark. I'll definitely be back to try the quesadillas, tacos, and more!!

They are renowned for their vibrant flavors, bold spices, and diverse dishes catering to all tastes using ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, garlic, and cilantro. Authentic Mexican food is more than tacos and salsa. The Garden State is hailed as one of the most diverse states when it comes to food, hosting some of the best Mexican restaurants on the East Coast. Whether one desires a quick taco or a full-course meal, my friends and I were craving rich and bold tastes from Mexico and decided on this family-owned establishment for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner. The reservation was easily made by calling Mariachi Grill, located on Ridge Road in Lyndhurst. Upon arrival at this popular spot to locals, with its cozy and casual interior decked out in traditional Mexican vibes, we were greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the entrance, but they also have outdoor dining, weather permitting. The menu selection is much smaller than at other restaurants. We decided on the Cheese Enchiladas, Beef Enchiladas, California Burrito, Beef Burrito, Chicken Fries with Fries, and Shrimp Fajitas. Some meals are accompanied with a small portion of rice and black beans. Complimentary house chips and salsa started our meal. As the restaurant is working on their liquor license, it's BYOB. One can bring your own tequila or wine, and the staff will mix it with their sangria or margarita mixes. We washed our meal down with a pitcher of sangria. The presentation was very good. The food was made incredibly fresh, well seasoned, deliciously tasty, and generous. The price was very reasonable for the area. Our server Lisa with her outgoing personality and her desire to make our visit enjoyable, which we didn't feel rushed. Good experience overall, which we can recommend.

Delicious Mexican restaurant in downtown Elizabeth…read more... Started it off with some nachos But they were not my typical nachos, they were nacho chips buried in melted cheese... Different but still tasty. I had a strawberry margarita and they brought some condiments for our dinner to the table. I ordered the steak chimichangas. Now I'm accustomed to getting one large chimichanga, but here I was served three smaller chimichangas topped with sour cream again different but still very delicious. They were served with a side of rice and refried beans. My husband ordered the whole red snapper fish that was served with rice and a side salad. My husband always enjoys getting a whole fish and he liked this fish very much. Everything here was very authentic and very delicious. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and their decorations were very fun and festive and we look forward to returning.

A waiter came by and took our orders. We got some carnitas and lengua tacos to start. The meat was very tender, and came with onions and cilantro on corn tortillas as expected. The tortillas were very good too, i was thinking they might have been freshly made. I ordered the steak chimichangas for an entree. It came with 3 well fried chimichangas, rice, beans, and salad. I wish the chimichanga had cheese in it along with the meat. But it didn't. Not my favorite, but OK.

A couple of years ago, I wasn't able to pick up an order due to a situation I couldn't control. Ever since then, they've refused to let me place orders. Every time I call, I'm told I'm not allowed to order or have food delivered to my house because of that one cancellation. It feels unfair to be permanently blocked over a single incident from two years ago. What makes this even more upsetting is that I've stayed loyal despite some serious issues. At one point, I even found a cockroach in my food. While I did report it at the time, I chose not to leave a public review because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. They only replaced the food and didn't offer a refund or any real apology. I tried to continue supporting this place, but being denied service over and over again has made it clear that customer loyalty doesn't matter to them. It's disappointing because the food is good, but the way they treat customers makes it hard to justify coming back.
