I love the juices here. I come often and my favorite is The Cure. Currently, they are not doing juices until further notice. So instead I tried a smoothie. I got the Berry Blast. I was a bit disappointed because it was bland and tasted watered down. There were also still some small chunks of ice. I actually went home and added agave to make it a bit sweeter. Located in the super busy (at least on Saturday morning) Mt. Vernon market. I was dying for a beet/ carrot/ ginger juice (yeah, I'm weird) and this was convenient and close. The good- the juice was great. The service was friendly. The menu had great suggestions for juice and smoothies. The not- so -good- The juice was pricey. Service was super slow. There were only two people working, and apparently they only have one juicer. The two ladies were doing what they could to move the line along, but the juicing station would have moved a tad faster if the veggies and fruit were precut and prepared. read more

Been wanting to try out this place for the longest time, seeing as in I'm always in the Mount Vernon Marketplace. I love the colorful and fun vibes that the location has and it definitely draws your eye in. I went with one of the Acai bowls for lunch and definitely loved it, all the ingredients were fresh and I inhaled the bowl down (as one typically does with good acai). I'm excited to try a few of the smoothies next time I'm around, I always hear amazing things about the P B & J smoothie that they make. I'm usually a Strawberry Banana type of guy myself so I'll have to be a little adventurous but I'm ready for it. read more

I just attempted to be a patron of the Fresh Monday's stall in the Mt. Vernon Marketplace. I was the only guest so that was easy and obviously, zero stress for the person working. I ordered a small PB&J smoothie because it sounded yummy and fun. A minute later as I was further perusing the menu, it dawned on me that yogurt was an ingredient. I'm a longtime vegan so I asked if I could leave the yogurt out. She said that she was already making it. I asked if she could make me a similarly priced smoothie. She said that I would have to pay again for another smoothie. I asked if I could get my money back. Her response was, "Well it was your fault." Wrong answer!!! You get a crappy YELP review. What if I actually was allergic to dairy? What if I was a parent that was ordering for a lactose-intolerant child!? Yup! I paid for a smoothie that I DID NOT get. AND tipped on it. I was told I could not and that I would have to pay for a new one. If I am paying $8 for a smoothie, I expect it to be high quality and to taste good. They use Jif peanut butter in their smoothies, which is obviously not a crime against humanity or anything, but which strikes me as odd at a place that's supposedly focused on health, and which strikes me as cheap at a place that charges $8 for a smoothie. Also, I have celiac disease and got really sick from the smoothie. I didn't specifically ask them about gluten cross contamination so that's not their fault, but other celiac folks beware! read more

Fresh juice, I'm not complaining. I enjoyed this little spot in the market. While I enjoyed their pre made juice, I didn't see an option for the make your own. I think I would have liked that a little bit more. My mom got one of their iced teas and enjoyed it though it was very sweet. I hope maybe they will expand to choose your own creation or something like that. I'm happy this place is in the market, there aren't enough juice places in Baltimore. read more

I was really looking forward to getting smoothies because of all the good reviews. We got the Tropical and the PB&J smoothies. The Tropical was a little bland and tasted like they were using fruit that was out of season, which is strange because it is the beginning of summer and the smoothie base it mango. When I tried my PB&J smoothie something tasted really quite off about it--to me it had the aftertaste of vomit which was rather unpleasant. I had my friend taste it and he agreed saying that it tasted like the fruit or something else they used was rotten. It had bananas, strawberries, and Greek yogurt in it. I was worried that the yogurt was spoiled so I decided not to finish it rather than risk getting sick. I did want to give them the benefit of the doubt though so I tried again and ordered something without the Greek yogurt. I got the Cafecito instead, which had banana, cocoa, coffee and agave in it. This one tasted much better but it was overwhelmingly sweet which almost masked a subtle sour aftertaste. Now I think the culprit was rotten bananas since that was the only ingredient common between the two. I'm hoping this is just a mistake that won't happen again next time, because I was hoping to try their açaí bowls sometime. I guess we'll see how my stomach feels tonight and hope for the best. :/ read more

I absolutely love Mt. Vernon Marketplace but one place I will absolutely never go to again is Fresh Mondays. I'm really sad about this because at least once a week I come in for their salad bar but today the customer service was so terrible I could never spend another $1 there. I went in today at 4:05p to get a salad, there were 2 people already standing at the stall when I got there so I stood behind them and waited for about 5 minutes for the woman behind the counter to acknowledge us (also, at this time 3 more people came and stood behind me). She was cutting up fruits and Vegetables so I was giving her time to do what she needed to do and assuming she would get to us shortly but instead after another few minutes of waiting a guy who works at the Mr. Souvlaki came over and started talking to her, she walks over to the counter and I thought she was finally going to acknowledge the 6 customers who by this time were waiting on her but instead while talking to this guy SHE REACHES UNDER THE COUNTER PULLS OUT A SIGN THAT SAYS "BACK IN 10 MINUTES" and continues to have a conversation and not once does she acknowledge any of us to apologize for leaving us waiting or anything like that. I completely understand that the stands in Mt. Vernon take breaks to set up for evening rushes but it is completely unacceptable to have customers wait 5-10 minutes and not be bothered to let them know you're not open especially when you don't have a sign up. Whoever the employee was who was working at Fresh Mondays on 5/21 at 4p needs serious education about customer service. Would definitely recommend trying a different stall at Mt. Vernon before Fresh Mondays. read more

This little corner of Mt. Vernon Marketplace is mostly a market with fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, but they also make smoothies and juices. I had "the hipster" smoothie, which was made of mango, kale, blueberries, coconut water + oil, flaxseed, and agave. I asked for half the amount of kale. It was delicious - I didn't really taste the kale at all, and it mostly tasted like mango and berries. Kind of a strange combination, but it worked! read more

The Marketplace continues to never disappoint. I was strongly in need of a salad last Thursday when my lunch plans fell through. Fresh Mondays hit the spot. I was a little leery bc it's not a DIY salad bar...they fix it for you. But that wasn't an issue at all. The young lady took her time with fixing my salad, and made sure that none of the lettuce or kale was bad. That's what really sold me. I prefer to make my own salads so I can make sure everything is fresh, so I really appreciated that she took the time and care, even though it's just a small gesture. Anyway...for $10, you get a HUGE salad. I ate it for lunch and dinner. Everything was fresh (as the name suggests) and delish. They had a great amount of choices available for toppings and salad dressings. There were two young ladies working this day and both seemed to move fast and efficient, filling customer orders as they came in. I'll certainly be back in the future. read more

I like going to the Mt. Vernon Marketplace when I'm in Baltimore -- love the laid back atmosphere and great food selection. On my second visit there I decided to order a smoothie at Fresh Mondays to offset the less healthy things I'd be ordering from other vendors. I chose the Hipster because it featured a veggie and fruit combo, but I have to agree with the other review of this item -- despite having all the right ingredients it was a pretty uninspired drink with very little flavor. I'm hoping this was just an off day and will give them another try the next time I'm in the area. read more

I am a registered dietitian nutritionist and had a great experience at Fresh Mondays. I would highly recommend the fresh ingredients in their salads! I built my own and it was delicious! Not only is the owner a pleasure to talk with, the juices and smoothies are delicious. You can add or remove anything you want. Personally, I add ginger to basically everything!
